This is the episode i always tell people to start the series with. It's a great standalone and I think it hooks people really strongly. Plus, watching this one before the 3 before pays off some background stuff so nicely.

3 different people i suggested the show to found the first episode boring, annoying, or just lame, and gave up. The last one who did, i told them just watch ep 4 then, and that hooked em. And nobody else has given up when i recommend ep 4 first. So, while i would tend to agree with your statement, for whatever reason, this has just worked better for me.

Roshi, Odekawa probably works the same route or within a 20 mile raidius within his busy area everyday to save on gas. That's why the odds are high for him to run into the same people. When i worked uber in new york i also just kept to a smalll radius around a busy area. In a big city like tokyo or new york it's easier to get passengers that are just going a short distance. not like florida where you gotta drive 20 miles just to go to mcdonalds lol

yeah i can sort of understand that. I personally watched episode 1 when it was airing and then dropped the show for like 3 months untill my friends started saying really good things about it so i went back and rewatched it once it was already completed and was hooked after episode 2. This show is definitely better if you have the option to binge multiple episodes at once

I'm starting to think this taxi guy has some cognitive or visual issues. I don't know who he's talking to in his room though, that's very interesting, it might be an imaginary friend or it could be himself. But there is never any animal reference the characters give to each other, no character seems self-aware that they are animals. Sheera pointed out that the girl's fur looks like a hijab and now I wonder if these are real human beings that the taxi guy just imagines. I mean it's called ODD Taxi.

My only problem with Durarara is that the pace is kinda slow, I remember I had to force myself to finish the third season. Like it was very good but felt damn long
