No one is talking about the ship from Sakaar that was obviously there to get Hulk. That’s what I’m worried about. Bruce has been getting shit on way before She-Hulk and that’s Universal’s fault cause they won’t let Disney do anything substantial with him. Or his side characters. Literally like every other main character in the Incredible Hulk movie is supposed to become a Hulk. The Rosses become the Red Hulks, and Samuel Sterns is Bi-Beast. But we only get Abomination because they can’t do anything. Also, what character doesn’t wanna show off after learning something? That’s how Aang burned Katara. Golden Frieza rushed back to Earth to show off his fresh form that was burning through power. Of course Jen is gonna try to flex on Bruce. What I wanna know, is if Hulk (not Banner) remembers Spider-Man. It’s random but something similar to Dr. Strange’s spell happens in comics and Hulk’s like “you erased Banner’s mind, Hulk remembers” or some shit. Hopefully Daredevil introduces them to a young hero he’s been working with.

Fun fact in the comics the reason why Bruce has an alter ego is because when he was a child his father use to abuse him a lot, so Hulk is basically his self defense mechanism just like they did for Marc Spector in Moon Knight

Hulk literally has a mentally disease, DID, from childhood trauma. His dad was jealous of taking his mother's attention from birth and killed his mother, and later Bruce kills him in a rage. That is how his 'angry hulk' personality developed before he even became the hulk. Jen can control her transformation because she never went through that trauma.

I didnt mind the CGI, as long as its passable I've never cared about it, and it's still easily some of the best cgi I've seen.. The only thing I thought was janky was the flying kick by the random villain near the end, clearly looked like she had been suddenly lifted by wires but it was kinda funny so I forgive it lol

She-Hulk started quite nicely, imho, specially when you have the knowledge from the comics to check the nice subtleties in the show. It's baffling to me that there's this much aggressiveness in the comments, but it's bound to be, I guess, specially with a show that puts a certain group of people under a microscope. We can love what we love and hate what we hate, but I'd recommend being a tad more civil about expressing either preference, no need tearing each other's throats out over a show. I give this episode a 7.5/10, on to the next one!

I still really hate how everything was just handed to her on a silver platter with no drawbacks and almost zero training compared to the original hulk. And I also hate her condescending know-it-all attitude. It's like boruto, but boruto is a karen. The only thing saving this thing was Bruce and Jen's chemistry when they worked together and some small comedy thats like a few minutes of the whole show.

Christ. There were ways to do that scene between Hulk and She-Hulk properly. This wasn’t it. Jen, up until this point, has lived a fairly normal life. Average woman with a good career (and all that unfortunately may entail, yes). In comparison, her cousin Bruce has been hunted by multiple governments with lethal intentions, fought in multiple battles to save the Earth, been unable to love not one but TWO special women because of his condition, physically lost one of those women forever. and was directly involved in the death of half of the world by not being able to stop Thanos. He has been feared, hunted, shunned, manipulated, used, framed, etc. All because he has a monstrous being of rage inside of him. Oh, and he’s literally tried to kill himself by putting a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger. That’s not counting the DARK depths of his comic book origins. That’s just MCU stuff. So, her whole spiel about the struggles of being a woman and having to control her anger come off as completely dismissive, insecure, narcissistic, and vapid in that scene. That could have been used to tease an arc of growth for her character, except the show doesn’t act like anything about what she said was wrong. If she had said that to any other character, almost, it might have landed and been powerful. But to BRUCE BANNER? It just reeked of a heavy handed self insert from the writers.

I mean Jen is like this in the comics. In her origin, Bruce did a whole blood transfission on Jen which turned her into a Hulk. She always have a better control of being in Hulk form than Bruce. Like Hulk, the powers of being a Hulk is already there. There never has been any type of requirement to gain new powers/feats of being a Hulk. A reminder that we never seen Hulk went through training cuz all he did was smash and came up with awesome stuff on the fly. Like using those cars as boxing gloves and creating the Thunderclap. Jen is not a Karen either. Jen will have a character arc since she's a lawyer who has that type of attitude.

What this show is happily doing is divisive. I hate how lazy and heavy handed modern writers with the agenda feel the need to empower heroines constantly at the expense of their male counterparts time and again. In fact I think we got more quality bruce characterization in this short 20ish episode than most of the entire MCU (excluding the norton film).

This episode was actually enjoyable. I will admit, I forgot to consider what Champion Bescos discussed in their post. I'm not sure on a lot of the lore of She-Hulk, but I remember seeing all of what Hulk had to go through at least in the movies and, when I think about it, it was pretty insensitive of her to just ignore all of the intense trauma that he had to painstakingly overcome. On the other hand, I was also kind of annoyed at Bruce because, while his trauma is indeed valid, he could only see as far as his own problems. You could tell how put off he was about her picking up things so quickly and he couldn't easily except that things were different for her. To give a somewhat similar example, as someone who's a black American, I have always been encouraged by older black folks to go to college, but sometimes it seemed that it was less about investing in a worthwhile education and more to do with the fact that "there was so much that our ancestors couldn't do back then." And while I get that, I came to feel that that plight (while valid) keeps many black Americans in a bondage of duty rather than in an environment of opportunity. Yes, I am conscious of the hardships of those that came before me, and I am willing to take advantage of the opportunities they didn't have. However, it can't always be "because they couldn't." Basically, I cannot allow their fears to propel me into a situation that I may not want to proceed into. That's why I can also understand where Jen is coming from. Regardless, I'm excited to see where this show goes!!

Bruce struggled so much to get where he is right now, so much sacrifices, so much time, so much suffering then comes a new hero who is portrayed to better than him but skipping all the struggles, they gave her a training arc but she was doing so much in such a short period of time it felt really cheap. It's like going through 10 years of medical school to get your doctor's license and then your rich friend comes along, bribes his way through med school and then somehow becomes the director of the hospital your working in. Then he comes to shove it in your face and then talks how he's had it hard in life. Bruce not finding a way to sort out his many issues forced upon him from trauma has NOTHING to do with justifying belittling him or completely disregarding his perspective. Not an angry, insecure, insensitive cousin who turns trauma and handling it into a subconscious contest. Reverse the roles! Like most superheroes, Bruce didn't have to work a single second for his powers. He was in an accident, and "boom!", he's one of the strongest beings in the multiverse. His struggles came from him waiting until his transformation to put in the work on managing his traumas, and general mental health, but that's by design, because that is what people want in the Hulk. A dude incapable of managing his shit, so he keeps getting angrier, and angrier until he destroys a planet, or even a universe. She-Hulk's fanbase, on the hand, love her as a comedy character that spends most of her time being a big green girl taking care of the legal end of the Marvel universe, but occasionally goes out to fight some crime. So by design, she's a character that has been putting in the work her entire life on managing her emotions and mental health. So when shit hit the fan, and she became a Hulk, she took control of the situation very quickly. This crazy as fuck trend that we need to see some kind of training montage spanning decades for every female character so we believe her capabilities, but are perfectly fine just accepting a male character's off screen work is exhausting. "You wanna know what's my secret? I'm always angry." Oh, cool! He can suddenly control his transformation now when he's shown zero ability to do so in this entire movie. How awesome is that?! "Hey guys! After spending two years as the other guy, I finally decided to just merge my two halves off screen." Believable, but wait....no! Why would you do that? I want my out of control Hulk that destroys cities, and slaughters civilians on a whim, Hulk. Please, lose yourself into your madness again. You're not Hulk, unless you have no chill, and the Avengers have to constantly band together to stop you.

DC hasn't really hit the ball out of the park either the issue is that in both cases the studios are dead set at introducing "woke" elements to the detriment of the story or continual canon. Now in the rare cases they haven't done this and not made a mary sue character with no backstory then the films have succeeded but I can really only think of the first Wonder Woman and Rogue One as good examples of this 80-90% of films in general now a days have horrible story writing. I would guess the next big dumpster fire will be LOTR on Amazon.
