Monkai3

You guys should watch Rick and morty

Kiara

The show said "oh, y'all don't wanna listen to the ED? Aight, we'll play it with the ending scene then so now y'all have no choice" lmao

Anudeep

Ngl hearing Ash's backstory from when he lived in Cape Cod while knowing everything he's gone through since he ran away made me want to cry. To go through that much pain for so much of your life from such a young age is horrible.

Kiara

And then to have your father at said young age tell you to just let it happen but make them pay for it? Awful.

KeYo

this show does not hold back with the child r*** stuff like holy shit, my thing is if the dad knew what was up right and he knew he was r**** as a child then why when he walked in the dad was like oh you whore! you been seducing them? what was that for?

Anudeep

Right? Like I'm honestly surprised that he didn't think to move away from Cape Cod or send Ash to his sister's place after Ash's first encounter.

Kingmakaii

I feel bad for ash bro just been getting assaulted since he was 7 that’s fucking ass bro

Devin B

@Anudeep to this day I don't understand why the father didn't do much with that situation. To have a kid go through all that and basically force him out of your house is demonic asf.

KeYo

yeah you never know, someone might report me because i gave someone trauma for using the word or some shit lol

Kiara

@Anudeep & @Devin B, For real! It completely boggles my mind how someone could let their 7-year-old get raped for a whole year. And then the only reason it stopped was that Ash, AN 8-YEAR-OLD, took matters into his own hands and killed the man. To make it worse, he ran away only to later be captured by Dino. Literally went from one hell to another, Ash goes through too much shit, man.

Big Daddy Dre

I always took it as the dad being mad that ash allowed that to happen the first time when he knew how to defend his because he shot his ass the second he tried it

EmoBurrito

I'm confused, unless we're missing a part of the story I still don't understand why Ash's father greeted him like that? Like you mad at you're 7 year old kid for him getting molested???

Devin B

@Deondre Howard bro Ash was forced to take things into his own hands after being abused for about a year. The father even told him to ask for money the next time he did it. He definitely wasn't expecting Ash to fight back.

Janelle

Right? At first I thought it was because he didn’t want Ash to stay in Cape Cod but calling him a wh*re doesn’t make sense. Especially when he was the one who said to ask money every time he had to go to the house

returntolife

Eiji annoyed me so much in like the first half of this season. Like I get it you're new to America and all but man where's your common sense or at least your ability to read the room?

jordy

I think its a little deeper than that. i think his father was projecting and really angry at himself for not being able to protect his son and not knowing how to deal with his sons trauma and the situation. but maybe I'm wrong. Not gonna lie his father was an asshole lol.

Janelle

I think this won’t be considered a spoiler anymore but the fact that in the beginning of the op it sounds like an operator saying “3121” which is a police code for r*pe and with Ash’s childhood— I bawled my eyes out

jordy

I think Ash's father was projecting and really angry at himself for not being able to protect his son and not knowing how to deal with his son's trauma and the situation. Maybe I'm wrong. People who've watched this, am i wrong? is his dad just an asshole?

auxag

So now that you've seen this episode and know more of Ash's backstory i'll let you know that the 3121 police radio code you hear at the start of the opening song is a real police code and is a nod to what ash has been through.

Daisuke_Takahiro

No no you are correct. The manga goes into it more of course, but i think the anime did this moment justice too.

Daisuke_Takahiro

I think at first a lot of people think that Ash's trauma started when he was taken in by Dino. When this episode finally comes up and we see that it started at a much younger age it is easier to understand his character more. The manga went into it of course with a bit more detail, but I think the anime did a decent job in how it was portrayed too. ^-^

Mozart Waddell

Actually Roshi you do know the rest of the lyrics to that song. Recall your Telltale Walking Dead the Final Season playthrough Louis was singing it to Clementine at the piano.

rickie woodson

did you forget ash used to turn tricks and do porn? thats where its coming from. it seems his dad doesnt know or care to know it was under duress

KimKaiRen

I think the mangaka wants to drill it into people's heads that Ash has had a shit life. He honestly could have turned out much worse considering all the things he's been through. Looking back, and for my own sanity ngl, I like to see it as strength to still choose to be a good person and still fight for yourself despite the shit life you've been dealt. I think Ash did extraordinary under the circumstances and I admire that.

KimKaiRen

Dad is still a shithead tho. At most, it could be projection but that doesn't excuse anything. Irl i think ppl who let r*pists get away with things r as bad r*pists themselves. You don't victim blame ur own son for the shit choices u make.

Reckless Company

bruh what kind a cop says a SEVEN-year-old seduced a whole grown man like wtf and it gets worse he was killing kids like damn its sad cuz stuff like this happens in real life smh

jordy

I agree that the dad is a dickhead for victim blaming his son/not protecting. I was just stating that it may be deeper than him just solely being an asshole. Multiple things can be true at once. Me personally I would have been in jail if someone did that to my (hypothetical) kid. lol

Safire

this show is too good

Sunshine Hall

Nah cuz the worst part is this is facts for many kids and even adults. Theres a r*pe museum that has a room called What They Were Wearing or something like that and theres literally like children and toddler clothes in it, pajamas for young girls and boys, sweatpants and tee-shirts. It's so gross.

Malcolm Washingon

Yo I think Ash might have the award for most tragic backstory in anime. Like wtf was this!! Assault at 7!!! And then realizing no one would ever protect you cuz your father is just a weak man!! And the shit with his mom forcing his brothers mom out of house, only to leave once he was born!!! And then he finally escapes that just to get caught by ANOTHER pedophile!!! How much God or whoever gotta not like you for you to get caught by TWO pedophiles!!! What kind of demon runs this world?

L Jeans

people are often victimized multiple times if it is never dealt with.

Sarcaamstic

@Deondre Howard, People always mistake the "Make him pay for it" for "Take revenge on him" but no. What Ash's dad meant is that Ash should at least be paid for it. Ash did not kill the bastard immediatly, he was repeatedly abused before killing him. That's why Ash's father is fucking unforgivable, he told his seven year old son to get paid while he gave up on doing anything to save him after going once to the police (I don't know, can't you fucking move elsewhere ? Kill the bastard yourself ? Anything but telling your son to get raped for money). The fact that he even dares to look down on his son and calls him a whore when he was the one that basically made Ash believe that he deserved to be on that path is beyond disgusting. Ash's dad is one of the worst characters in this show and it says A LOT.

Sarcaamstic

@jordy If he wasn't able to handle his son's trauma then what about his own 7 year old son ? He basically told him to suck it up and at least get paid for the repeated assaults. He then dares to call his son a whore ? Going once to the police and then going straight to "well let's make money on your abuse at least" is the biggest stretch ever, could you not move elsewhere or take things into your own fucking hands instead ? Jim Callenreese is the fucking worst.

Asl43n

nah i would have shot him, aint no way you can tell me he didnt know how to keep this pedo away from his son wtf, i mean not being able to get him caught is one thing but selling ur kid like that is the death sentence in my eyes
