I think the King had some form of leprosy. All of his symptoms match.

earthphoenix7068

The first time I watched this, I didn’t know a gelding was a neutered horse, so no Roshi he would rather die than be tortured and castrated.

Babs

Jordan

Code Kisaro

kristian

Can someone explain sumn for me. The bad bitch that Daemon was talking to is that Laena?? The little girl the king was supposed to marry? Or somebody else? Cuz In episode 6 he was with laena but I could have sworn she couldn’t have been that old in episode 5. Maybe I’m trippin

trippersigs22

yes its Laena. the same girls. this is maybe about 4-6 years later so she probably around 16 in this episode

James

"So she basically just dropped her bean on the table" roshi please...

Pilausky

Puberty rolled her a double 6

kristian

Bro volaris a better father then me cuz I would of pulled my daughter to the side and been like when I die and you take the throne they ion bend the knee to you use the dragons burn it all down if you can’t rule ain’t finna be no kingdom or family’s to rule and I’m with Roshi yeah you’re dying bitch you walking in here with war colors on and shit 😭

Mozart Waddell

Rhaenys has really grown on me. She's intelligent, calm, do not cling to the past, and act with purpose. The way she warmly greeted Viserys made me smile. Damn even Corlys who I've disliked for the past few episodes did a complete 180. His charisma was undeniable this episode. He set aside personal feelings and decided to compromise on his family name and he was a mood during the entire banquet. The way he was eating and giving characters that "oh shit what's going on" look while eating was hilarious and relatable. I clearly saw my uncle in him.

trippersigs22

"She loves him" Sweet innocent Roshi.

Kris Khachikyan

Great character development for Alicent to be honest. Otto has been planting the seeds for a while now it’s time for her to take over. Can’t wait for the reaction to the time jump

Victor

There was no major time skip between ep 4 and ep 5, a few days at most. You could see Otto was just about to leave King Landing after he was fired. You just met the actress for older Laena the first time in this episode.

LelaniG

Lesson of the day: Keep your mouth shut or a common phrase talk shit get hit

Champion Bescos

Daemon the only one indifferent or perhaps amused to Allicent’s unheralded entrance is on point. He had his own unheralded entrance as well.

Iago

please check alt shift x! I already commented about this. so in this episode we see daemon killing her wife, but that did not happen in the books, at least it does not say right away and daemon was in another place.

Iago

Littlefinger + varys = Larys

Victor

Looking back at the episode, it made me wonder where the hell Daemon went during the chaos, like he was right next to Rhaenyra just a moment before that.

EZ

56:27 YEAHHHH ROSHI hes gonna cut his own head off LOL

baja

Damn 15 minutes in, Otto words might be right. From his poin of view and the citizens', this dude will be seen as a bad king. He is allowing every disrespect towards him and HIS HEIR. Naming her daughter heir is a tight game to play and he is going easy about it, his misinterpretation of the prophecy might be wrong. He assumes targaryan will remain on the throne until then. He is trying to be a good dude, a good father and a king. Dude you are king, your life is out the window. There is moves to make, visions to have, people to keep in control, people to be rallied, there is shit to be done. What the f is he doing

Mad4Life

Geez Sheera really had to say she was right about Ser Criston killing Joffery 8 times.

Lamont mitchell

this man roshi seem uninterested asf, please drop the show if you not feeling it. We will definitely understand

Mind Me

I just wanna say that after episode 5, there will be a time jump ( 10 years) and that the actors will change, the princess and the queen. Just a heads up

Basedra

Daemon be getting banished every episode and then shows up in the next one not caring.

Consectives

Daemon didn’t want Runestone it was just a way to tell Gerold to fuck off. Since he’s the cousin of the dead wife he stands a chance of inheriting the castle. This would be ruined if Daemon pulled up to the Vale and asked for the inheritance.

Grelk

what

EmoBurrito

I really don't think Ser Criston nor Rhaenyra love each other. I think you guys are reading to much into it. Honestly Rhaenyra just seems like she wants to have fun, and keep him around. And Ser Criston seems more concerned about his honor. They might have some feelings but I don't think "love" is it. They both seem way more concerned about other things.

john segun doe

After this i remember being like I FUX with lady Alicent heavy

Prim

lol wtf are you on?

Adrian Locke

Sheeragan was on 100 this episode

Lamaree Jackson

It does that to a lot of men—and aquamen 😬

Leanne Stephenson

Think the showrunners decribed Ser Criston Cole as a thug. Just because hes a knight, his violence is seen ina certain lihht. Regardless of Joffery's play that was over kill and hes a Lord he should be killed for that act and he hit the future King Consort more than once I think whilst he was trying to protect him. Nice seeing the allies forming on thr Queens side for the future

Erica Collins

the fact that ser Criston was able to walk away from that...

Tre'

🤡 🤡

twis tempo

Huh Should he be cheering and screaming with pom poms while watching?

Lamont mitchell

nah he should be twerking on the wall singing marvin gaye while smiling

Lamont mitchell

meth, i was high on the clouds when i posted that. Go call walter white

Lamaree Jackson

How do you kill a lord AND put hands on the nigga next in line to be the king, and not get murdered fifteen different ways? Game of thrones made it seem like Targaryens were ruthless in these days. Kinda let down

Ledish

Joffrey Lonmouth was not a lord, just a knight. Criston Cole is part of the Kingsguard, who are given VERY far-reaching authority. Given what happened and the absolute chaos of the situation, it'd probably be very easy to claim he was just doing it to defend princess Rhaenyra. Especially considering that Laenor's sexual orientation seems to be a bit of an open secret, and with Alicent maybe stepping in as queen and vouching for him. "Oh yeah, Joffrey totally started that shit by threatening the princess out of jealousy."

Ledish

Joffrey was a knight, not a lord. Places him way above the smallfolk on the scale, but still far below lords (and unlike lordships, it's not a hereditary rank/title). Criston is part of the Kingsguard, which has a lot of authority, and there was absolute chaos in the situation. Given that the closeness between Laenor and Joffrey is fairly clear to everyone, it'd be easy to claim that Joffrey threatened the princess out of jealousy or something like that, especially if Alicent steps in as the queen to vouch for Criston.

Lamaree Jackson

Is Alicent really carrying that much power though? More than the heirs who are an actual Targaryen and Velaryon. Like secrets aside, you put your hands on my king consort and disrespected my wedding proceedings. You holding this dracarys 🔥

BentStraw

Remember the scene where Rhaenyra is by the tree listening to the musician. Then Alicent overrides Rhaenyra's command for the musician to stay. That scene shows that the Queen has altleast more authority and pull than the next Targaryen heir to the throne.

Hex

After Alicent's conversation with Ser Criston her reaction definitely wasn't "oh hey she was telling the truth about Daemon, but she didn't tell me she had sex with Ser Criston". Alicent thinks she slept with both of them for sure.

trippersigs22

It is incredibly stupid that we didn't get ANY sort of explanation and that he was never even questioned. Even if he wasn't a lord He was still a knight of the 2nd most powerful(arguably the 1st) in Westeros. It just doesn't make much sense. they should have went with the books tournament setting to justfiy it.

Leanne Stephenson

Ah okay thanks for clearing that up,I thought he was both, my bad

deonte johnson

Lmao rhaenyra basically said to criston “you thought i was feeling you, nigga you a munch”

SnailSpray

17:35 lookin like they walking across the windows screen

Don Mcadams

I agree Joffrey should have kept his mouth closed you ain’t even get in good enough and got clapped

Kass

Roshi is delusional thinking Rhaenyra was in love with Sir Criston. She is a city gworl.

Iago

yeah like what

Iago

actually it is not the same actress, there are 3 for laena

Chandra

Actually I think Criston did love her and he THOUGHT she loved him. I agree she just wanted to have fun. She was young and mostly restricted as a young girl. It wasn’t her fault the older man not only ignored his vow but then caught feelings. He never mentioned to her that anything was wrong and he didn’t really know her if he thought she was going to give up the throne for a life on the run. I’m pretty positive that the reason she didn’t/couldn’t pick a suitor was Daemon. Ser Criston didn’t stand a chance even if he hadn’t been King’s Guard.

Chandra

I can’t figure out why everyone says Daemon did something to make her fall. He literally did nothing until she fell. She panicked, reached for her bow then her horse got spooked and threw her. If she hadn’t made that last smartassed jab he would’ve left her there to live or die. Do y’all watch the videos at the end of the episode where the cast and crew give insight into the episode?

Trashthlete

Ummm, nope. Daemon clearly meant for her to die. If anything, she goaded him into killing her rather than letting her starve to death. Even the after-episode feature clarified that Daemon, did in fact go there with the intent to kill her.

Chandra

Also, don’t know if anybody else said but Viserys is suffering from some form of leprosy. The actor, Paddy Considine confirmed in an interview.

EmoBurrito

I agree that Ser Criston definitely fucked up. He destroyed his own oath and caught feelings. But I don't think these "feelings" are love, sure he might be infatuated by Rhaenyra but he definitely seems WAY MORE concerned about his honor. I'm sure they both have feelings for each other, but I'm pretty certain that their priorities are else where. Or I could be totally wrong, who knows lol

trippersigs22

She was a little lippy so it was totally cool that Daemon bashed her head in with a rock.

Chandra

For sure he wanted her dead. He’d been pissed about his marriage since the beginning. What I’m saying is that he didn’t cause her fall. He just took advantage. I watched the feature so I know they changed it so that he was there when he wasn’t in the book. I also think he would have been fine with her being paralyzed. If she couldn’t perform marital duties he could have the marriage terminated.

Chandra

Who said that? Pretty sure I said that was why he did it, not that it was justified. Him walking away would have been more book Daemon than HotD. I wish he would have left her.

Godrick

bro said "instead of cutting my balls off and torturing me, just kill me normal" bro i thought if he got caught thed just fire him or some shit.. no poon is worth all that fr

Cami

if you think criston is salty in this episode, just wait until the next one lol

trippersigs22

The kings guard is a vow to the king and to the gods. Even if it wasnt Rhaenyra the MINIMUM you could hope to get away with is getting your junk cut off and sent to the wall.

Mcdiddys

"The black judgement" BRO y'all's commentary is so next level ranging from jokes to facts. S tier channel and S tier reactions! Y'all dumb fr lmfao

Anth

Am I the only one that’s all she said she preferred black guys over a white guys when she said she prefers roast duck over a goose

rickie woodson

every joffery is dumb, confirmed. that was just a petty ass conversation

rickie woodson

for me it was "i like girls over boys" and thought "hey we are gay cousins getting married for the public and having our gay times in secret" like will and jada

Anonymous
>>92750175

@rickie woodson your a freaking weirdo dude lol Rhaenyra isn't gay and neither are Will and Jada. Take your fairytail ass headcanons somewhere else.

ok

16:18 why? That is a social construct not a biological fact of life lmao. Do you not see how disadvantageous it would be if the Targaeryan dynasty came to an end over some stupid ass shit like that? Literally in what world would anyone with leverage agree to that? Makes 0 sense. Edit: Roshi the Velaryon's should not even BE in that position. THAT is the compromise, i let you marry the inheritor of the Iron Throne. Lol even Corlys did not truly expect Viserys to say yes to that request ... like what?

ok

I really dislike Alicent ...

Stonewall Hackson

I think Daemon did do a little something. He likely recently came off his dragon which he knew the scent would spook the horse, they kind of set that up in episode one I think when a couple people comment how much Rhaenyra stinks when she gets back off hers. I like how they keep it vague though so you can have the argument.

Anonymous
>>92422998

@Chandra You sound stupid as fuck, and you clearly aren't paying attention to the story if you think Rhaenyra is free of blame and isn't responsible for how Criston turned out. I swear you Rhaenyra fans are dumb as hell. I mean she quite literally sexually coerced him. You can say there was equal consent on both sides. But it was dubious either way. She legit came onto him first then tried to treat him as a fuck toy afterwards. She is a 100% responsible for how he feels. If the genders were reversed nobody would think even think differently about this

Stanley Labissiere

Wait, did they imply that homeboy marrying Rhaenyra is gay? If they did, what an S tier way to say it
