If you enjoy this show, you should get on that Jobless Reincarnation shit

I've always seen Kaiki's speech about hating irreplaceable things to Nadeko as a response to Numachi in a way. Rather than get over it and pursue other things, she reduces her whole life to basketball, just like Nadeko throws away her everyday life away over Araragi.

patiently waiting for "VOX MACHINA"🙏🏾

Schadenfreude is a German term and basically just means "finding joy in the misfortune of others".

beelzebub

its more complicated than that i think its like a brief feeling of joy that you can come to regret right after feeling. Its accidental not purposeful

It's not like Kaiki really faked his death with some elaborate plan. He just lied to us, the audience, about it, to close off his character arc. That whole scene at the end where he gets stabbed never actually happens. It's just told to us that it did. He thought it was fitting for him to leave the story by dying, because most people in the story saw him as a villain. He also broke off all contact with Senjo, Araragi and all the others, except for Kanbaru, because as we learned in this arc, he was in love with Kanbaru's mother, who passed away.

Schadenfreude goes both ways. It can be accidental or purposeful (for example when something bad happens to someone you really dislike or who caused you trouble in the past). Source: Being German

To explain the person who bashed Kaiki: If you remember back in BAKEmonogatari, when Araragi perfomed the exorcism on Sengoku, there were 2 snakes possessing her. One he was able to successfully exercise, the other escaped. It was mentioned that the snake curse would return to the person who cast the curse if the snake did not successfully kill the host. In this case, it was the boy who Sengoku rejected his love confession & was sold the snake curse charm from Kaiki. If you see during Kaiki's "end", you can see the form of a snake shrouding the boy. He has been in pain and suffering in the same way Sengoku was in the months that have past between BAKEmonogatari and the end of Monogatari Second Season. So him snuffing Kaiki was essentially payback for selling the charm to him.
