All I’m gonna say is that mental illness comparison with the meds is not the best…

JsnSkg

It's always the quiet ones, though. That's why Riz was always the #1 suspect... he's huge, and he's quiet. We was a super background character in S1. As lowkey as you can get, despite his size. For me that made him the obvious culprit.

Devin B

I knew it wasn't Bill cause even though he had the same silhouette as Riz he was too obvious of a suspect that I couldn't think of him as the devourer

donald

tem's switch up wasn't real, it was riz's delusion to cope with what happened

JsnSkg

Plus he's very vocal and highkey. If you committed a serious crime like that, you wouldn't wanna be so loud and be the center of attention.

AttackRunRepeat

It actually is. It happens A LOT with people on medications for mental illness. She wasn't implying if you don't take your meds you go crazy and eat your friends. She was saying that people with mental illness take pills then feel fine so they stop taking them only to begin to feel terrible again.

mackenzie

if u rewatch the first episode u can see the stark constraint between what rizz thought happened vs the reality

Ruben Villarreal

I felt like that conversation he had with Tem before he ate him was in his head cause Tem said something different in the first episode

Aliyah Gray

Remember in the first episode it showed Tem saying “You carnivores arenothing but monsters” them he was eaten. I believe to deal with the the trauma of what he had done Riz creating that memory in his head.

Devin B

There was no way Tem was okay with Riz eating him. Riz had that delusion to basically justify him eating Tem. I'm pretty sure Riz hugging Tem was real but it was probably more of a bear hug so that Tem wouldn't escape.

KeYo

man i knew it was the big ass bear as soon as i saw him. the build of the body when he attacked legosi literaly gave it away. are bears really able to muscle up like that? thats fucking scary. no wonder they get mistaken for a big foot

Core

What sucks about the medicine thing is people do it all the time even in real life with stuff like antidepressants. You feel good, do you even need em anymore? Then shits goes left cuz you’re suddenly cold turkey on the thing that’s been juggling your brain chemistry accustomed to for months.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Tem didn't just suddenly switch up. That was all in Riz's head. Tem telling Riz that carnivores were all monsters was the final thing that made Riz snap and sent him into full on delusion. "Yeah sure, eat me bro. Accept your darker nature. You don't have to hide anything."

Devin B

@Osenbei Sensei exactly it's never the first person you suspect and you'll always suspect someone as outspoken as Bill first because of how they grab your attention

Abigail Clark

The anime makes it less noticable, but it's way more clear in the manga that Tem didn't actually say that. It was Riz's mind making up words for Tem while he was eating Tem. Basically Riz going "this is what Tem would've said and wanted."

n momo

If we put ourselves in the place of Riz, we understand why he wanted to stop the drugs. He must take it every evening, which causes him migraines, which prevent him from sleeping and the purpose of these pills is to cause a general atrophy of the body. Besides, in the scene where he comes down from the bed, you see that he goes down with difficulty and you feel the heaviness that Riz must bear every day. It's unhealthy to give that to a teenager. What is intelligent is the fact of swapping the effects of drugs with honey, especially when you know that honey has antibacterial, and antioxidant virtue (that is to say that it reduces the formation of Free radicals responsible for premature aging of the skin, etc.), anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic.

ERRORCODE616

As intense as the reveal around Riz was, my favorite part of the episode was the scene with Bill. He was such a jock last season, and seeing him grow into someone who just has genuine feelings of love for the club is really cool.

Devin B

Also don't forget that Tem had a crush on Els so his relationship with Riz was really just a friendship where they don't have to hide themselves from one another.

Muse of Salzburg

Saying it every episode: WATCH THE ED AFTER THE FINAL EPISODE

Eric Keatts

So if u remember the first episode, this all goes down a lot differently, what we see in this episode is Riz's altered state of mind's view of it, the first episode was Tem's. Hence the episode title Honey-Pickled Memories, because Riz memory of those moments r alot sweeter than their reality

Eric Keatts

I have a friend, whose dad and brother, suffer from a mental illness, I forget what its called, but when taking their medicine they function normally and get along with everyone, but if they stop they start getting irritable and combative over little to nothing. He tells me they've lost a lot of jobs over it. And I had a female friend who has the same illness and can confirm, shed be sweet and friendly, but shed start talking about not taking or forgot her meds one day and shed stop taking them for x amount of time and sure enough...

Maroki R6

This entire episode is from Riz’s perspective. The guy is the definition of Psychotic. He thought he and Tem had a special relationship. In reality Tem was probably scared as shit He’s viewing everything so altered that it might be why the episode might look weird to you guys

BornUnMotivated

I'm glad yall picked up on the mental illness comparison, people want to be normal but don't want medication they want to be normal on their own not with help. Cause to them it's not normal to take pills and when they stop taking those pills that's when they get an outburst or mental episode that could endanger them and anyone around them because the crash from not taking those pills takes a huge toll on your mental it's like opening the flood gates.

PotatoLover

Riz is delusional, Tem did not say that they're best friends, he just imagined it

David Emerson

If you guys noticed they didn't show the bear the Entire Show until Season 2. Kind of a subtle hint since he just popped up out of nowhere

Quincy Jones

No he was there from the first episode. You'll notice he was the only carnivore who's head was not shown/darkened out from screen which you catch as a rewatch bonus if you've seen the show before.

ChickenDinners

The craziest thing is that Legosi could've easily been Riz if nobody distracted him from eating Haru. His mind would've snapped and probably taken a similar path to Riz. Their lives took very different paths by sheer chance.

ChickenDinners

Yeah the media always demonizes mental illness so you have to handle the issue carefully. I have bipolar disorder and take meds and go to therapy so I live a very normal life. If I don't take my meds I get extremely depressed or manic and my life falls apart. I understand that and it is okay for people to say that. We have to be careful because we automatically think mentally ill people are a danger to society or others when in reality in the overwhelming majority of cases they're only a danger to themselves. In fact, per capita people with mental illness commit less violent crimes than those who aren't on average. It's a huge issue that we all think mentally ill people are dangerous.

Eva Lujan

Y’all saw how gay they were too 💀

Yendis The Great

I thought that Riz was just crazy, and hallucinated Tem being nice during the murder

Ricky F

Lmaooo "everyone thinks I'm Winnie the Pooh but I'm really cocaine bear" 😂🤣
