IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! Really appreciate how fast y'all get this out

Danger Tomato

Hands down the best episode of all TV ever

SunXBreathing

Ya’ll are so dirty for that title😭

Novy Navarro

Anyone know how to fix buffering from Patreon video player? I can watch 4k Quality videos on Youtube just fine

TrinitytheApostle

I watch from my phone so idk....but I remember a few comments saying to use the patreon site not the app, and remember to refresh your browser or something like that

twinuzis

fr i get that they tryna focus on the stories that werent explored in the game but I wish it didnt take a whole episode lol

Ryan Hill

I don't remember that MK cabinet specifically, but some arcade machines had movelists around the screen.

Life101!

More than that. They are trying to appeal to a wider audience than just "people who played the game"

Jay Gotti

35:50 lupa funny asfuck yo I’m crying 😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭

Sheraya san

The girl who played Riley plays zendayas little sister in euphoria

britt

the girl who plays riley played tyla dubois in suicide squad

Drake Rage

They said her duty was going to be to GUARD the people shovelling shit, not to shovel shit herself.

Bria A.

Hilarious that Lupa said “looks like they’re about to film a Euphoria episode” and then got stumped on Riley’s actress lol. Storm Reid’s been in a lot of stuff, most recently that one movie that keeps popping up on youtube ads everywhere, but notably she plays Gia (Rue’s sister) on Euphoria.

JxdonRA

Just noticed roshi's shirt damn bro u gd?

Ahiru. アヒル

Roshi read my patreon message please. It is important. sorry for the spam 🙏

zILovePelmeni _

brooooooooo why are always the tlou reactions affected by trash audio quality like how?

Vanilla

I was really into the first 3 episodes but episode 4 and on are getting boring I fell asleep watching this episode I hope the last 2 eps are as good as the first 3 because this ain't peak no more it's just alright

Toast Knight

Rick from Blind Wave and Lupa are the only two people I've ever seen get hyped over Pinball

Josh

Episode was pretty good, but not gonna lie, this DLC episode was better as gameplay rather than an episode…and they skipped hella action and adventure solo time with ellie when she goes off to find med supplies for Joel in this episode as well which is regrettable for me, but i will say that i loved the emotions swirling in this episode and the relationship between Ellie and Riley and at the same time you cant really move onto the next sequence of the story without this episode…so…its like ok whatever i guess now i have to wait another week😭😭

Trist9n

Everyone that works on this show is fucking amazing its like I'm playing the game all over again

$am

At this point, the success of the video game is carrying the popularity of the series. There are 2 episodes left so I might be wrong but I feel like the game and earlier seasons of the walking dead did a better job at encapsulating the dread of living in a post apocalyptic zombie world and the little moments we take for granted that make the characters happy. This show would definitely be better if they utlilized action anywhere as near as they do drama

Josh

You must’ve not experienced the gameplay to be saying that…if you did you would know what i mean…I just stated my opinion on the episode so relax buddy

Fablee

Honestly Last of Us is a great show, but definitely underwhelming in some aspect. I wouldnt call it one of the best tv shows out there to put it along breaking bad or GoT but it definitely almost close.

Drake Rage

It is still a sucky job yea, but just guarding people in a "crappy" area is a lot better than actually cleaning up the literal shit myself, it is a big enough difference, like it would be more difficult for me to leave everything and everyone I know than to just tolerate having a job near a smelly place.

Rosie

Am I the only one who enjoyed this episode? I thought that they did a great job with recreating the DLC

Trevor Wingard

I would title episode “Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes”

Oliverson

Lupa making a euphoria reference when rileys actress plays Rues (Zendaya) sister

Jim Crow

Why tf didn’t she keep shooting it,it was on the floor 😂

Moisty Justice

check the situation. They assumed there wasnt infected but there was and now she had to think what if there were more. What if i needed to conserve the ammo I got?

Kevin Tran

I mean, I guarantee you that there is a humongous portion of the community watching the show that has not played the game(s) before and they just like it for what it is. In fact, the popularity of the game(s) might be hurting the show because of all the people complaining about the changes they made. And 2 last things, this takes place 20 years after the apocalypse (TWD is immediately after and then a few years) and TWD had hundreds of hours (100+ episodes) and a lot of chances to round out and fill in whatever they needed. This show gets one season to satisfy the gamers, the non-gamers, AND TWD fans and I think it's doing it pretty good so far.

L1NG

this echo really offputing ngl idk why

mitch mcmahan

That was a stalker not clicker but is not big deal

Charlie baker

Ill be honest i could've done without a dlc episode, most people never played it and i was really looking forward to winter

Charlie baker

It was a whole dlc most never played that wasn't nearly as interesting as jumping straight into winter wouldve been

Moisty Justice

the game is there to still play. The themes of the game and show manage to merge but the game fans complain so much its no longer become criticism but nonstop whining because there isnt enough action? This is an adaptation that follows the main themes and plot points. we arent going to kill so many infected or evil humans so stfu and play the game or understand what an adaptation is

Drake Rage

So you are telling me she was saving the ammo worrying about other infected and let the 1 infected "kill" them? lmao

Michael Saylor

Yeah this episode was definitely for the non gamers. People that played the game didn't really get anything out of it and I was hoping to see ellies mom

Moisty Justice

so are you telling me a kid with a gun didnt panic over one infected? Again, not knowing there might be more or not?

Hertog

boring episode

Daylight95

Just a quick update. Made in abyss manga has not come out with chapter 64 for almost 7 months now. FYI ch64 is only like 4 ch after the end of the second season. PAIN

Kubochaan

People who played and loved the game should be able to express the changes they liked and didn't like about an adaption of it. The game literally started it all and the show wouldn't be here without it. I think sure, it can be annoying to scrutinize every change and complain but It definitely shouldn't be "hey game player, only say good things about this adaption or stfu". That's a super weird take also and equally annoying. like chiiiiilll people

KeYo

this episode was pretty much for the true core gamers who played the entire playable content for last of us. i never played the dlc but i did know about riley. still is a good episode

nickhaze

Its good they included it because its extremely essential to Ellie's character development and is a foundation for a lot of her later decisions/motivations.

Anas Loyal

Should I start watching this, I never played the games but the show is everywhere and everyone is praising it

$am

I'm saying if the The Last of Us video game didn't exist, the series wouldn't be as popular. It's the fans of the games that pushed the series into mainstream. I started playing the game after episode 6 and from what I've seen so far, the game is the superior way to experience the story.

Dirty_Oldman

Some of the fatalities were easy to figure out. As a kid I accidentally learned how to do raidens. From then on I only picked him because I could do the fatality.

PhaedrusRumple

I mean, you dont need to play the game to enjoy it. If you’re able to watch it, just watch it. If you don’t like it, then stop

MancunianProphecy

I never played the DLC based from this episode, but I'm guessing it was better to play as a game, rather than to watch as an episode, because this was boring. By far the worse episode so far, I lost interest after 20 minutes so started browsing on my phone with this on in the background. It was a good thing I knew the synopsis of this backstory otherwise I would have been completely lost with the lack of attention I was paying. It is a necessary episode to explain Ellie's backstory and give the viewer some perspective of her trauma, but at same time I feel it could have been told in 5-10 minute dialogue between Ellie and Joel at some point. I'm hoping these next few episodes will be banging, because we're coming up to my favourite part of the game which is massive for both Ellie and Joel's character and relationship development.

Alexa

Agreed. They could have shown some snippets of Ellie and Riley together and it would have been great but I'm not watching this show for 40 mins of teenagers goofing off. Just felt super boring.

Alfredo

No "BRICK FUCKING MASTER!!"? The episode was alright but I was looking forward to that.

SnailSpray

Yeah the episode was just not necessary, the game did a good enough explanation in very few minutes. we understood her relationship and why it was traumatizing but this episode was boring. just played it in the background while I played videogames.

Todd Howard

FWIW I haven't played the game and I felt this episode was pretty boring. Mainly because it was predictable. We already know Ellie survives. It would have been cool to show more of life in the QZ as a kid but other than that I felt there was no plot progression this episode.

Mikaele Rosecrans

Audio is fucked. But I would told him “well come back after someone talking about your dead friends in a a way that it’s an insult and you tell me”

John Cedar

Literally any adaptation is more popular because it's an adaptation. That's kind of why it's 90% of what TV shows and films consist of these days. Dune would not make as much money without the book existing, The Mandalorian would not be as popular without the original Star Wars, and Arcane wouldn't have been as popular without the League fanbase. Does that mean any of those productions fail on their own or are being propped up by their original IP? Not in the slightest. They're still definitely way more profitable because they're based on a well-known IP though. Same thing with this show, it's good all on its own. The boomers who are talking about it and loving it weren't watching the cutscenes when their kids played in 2013. I get that you have an expectation because you liked the game, but there's a difference between not liking something and trying to act like this is bad filmmaking. It's not, and if it was lackluster, this show would fail just like most half-assed video game adaptations do. You cannot deny that every single person on this set is giving it their all and cares about the story and the characters. I am in agreement with a lot of people that's it's not perfect and the pacing is getting annoying in this episode in particular. But to say it's only performing well because the video game was popular is disingenuous.

CentrisAce

I knew it would happen, but I wasn't ready.

CT

My friends and I figured out, and memorized, a lot of the finishers for MK3 through sheer button mashing. Granted, that was on the Super Nintendo version where we had infinite tries. Sussing it out on an arcade cabinet is pretty wild.

Royal Lucario

worst episode so far I actually used to like the dlc. that scene was done soo terribly

Alice

There's also a GameStop in that mall where one could potentially find guide books. It's not too outlandish to consider that some of the moves might carry over from previous games. It's a stretch but it's a believable stretch to me that she was down there for about 3 weeks practicing the game. And who wouldn't play that for hours on end trying to master one character and be able to show it off to our best friend.

Azayzel Hoarde

Seeing her just KNOW a fatality like that in an arcade stick first time nah somethings wrong with that haha she either a genius or been in her room practicing on a piece of cardboard with an arcade stick drawn on it everynight lol

Jay

this episode was pretty good, I liked how i didn't cry as much as the previous episodes lol also the girl who played riley was so familiar i looked her up and i recognized her in the movie "A Wrinkle in Time" the most!

Manju

yall being so harsh for no reason, "oh this ruined the dlc for me", "oh this was boring because all it was was some VERY IMPORTANT details of Ellies past, oh no i wish i couldve gotten it between 5 minutes of dialouge instead of a full episode." idk i thought it was good and entertaining

Shaquan Hypolite

Played the dlc and this episode was aight. Kinda bored halfway in tbh

Kermit

Never thought I'd be skipping through scenes after how good the first few episodes were. Some of the filler dialogue was unnecessarily drawn out, boring and could have been better written.

TimTakDoh

Walking dead was literally trash after season 1-2. Even those early seasons was barely watchable

Smash Bran'Discootch

Guys, yall realize that they had Mortal Kombat fatalities listed out in magazines, right? Like, yall saw that she had a mortal Kombat poster in her room and magazine clippings hung up. Is it so farfetched to think that they read an old copy of Game informer or GameSpot or any of those old magazines? I did that shit as a kid and knew EVERYTHING about a game way before I played it, it's easy enough to think Riley did the same.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Yeah, plus at a a lot of arcades I used to go to, the staff would put a move list themselves. Kids pay more money if they know what tf they're doing and can get into the game.

Smash Bran'Discootch

My dude, the last of us isn't about action. The story is the most important part. In the game the action is there because it's a game. But it has nothing to do with the story and character interactions which has always been what The Last Of Us is about. Hell, the zombie apocalypse is literally the least important part of the franchise. It's set dressing.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Only this time you don't gotta hunt all around for the exact right spot on the wall to get the button prompt to set a damn ladder up XD I love those games but damn did that used to annoy me hahaha

Smash Bran'Discootch

Bruh right? If you play enough you can literally figure them all out. Who do they think used to write gamefaqs walkthroughs?

Josh

Most people that are complaining dont actually think the series is bad, they are just disappointed because they know the show could’ve been 10x better if there were more episodes to expand on the series and if the budget was higher….for example, its like a plain chicken wing, anyone who hasnt eaten one before would think its amazing, but little did they know there are tons of flavors that could be added onto that plain chicken wing to make the overall experience way better…same thing with this show, the non gameplayers are satisfied with the show becasue they haven’t experienced the game, thus they have no idea what we gameplayers are talking about and think we are just being ridiculous cry babies when we express our disappointment on something that they consider “Amazing”

Charlie baker

What sales numbers though? I'm not sure ive ever seen any tracked sales numbers for its dlc lol. So your point makes no sense lol

Josh

I hear what your saying, but i disagree to an extent, the action had many key moments and shows how brutal the characters can be…one second you see joel slaughtering a bunch of people and then the next you see him joking and caring for ellie..in a way Joel is similar to rick from the walking dead with his way of savagery and killing…the action can help show the disparity between the brief peace that we get sometimes and when we have to fight in this cruel and unfair world…action is just as important as character development, emotions, relatIonships and everything else…its a key component that cant just be removed just because…before anyone that hasn't played the game disagrees with me, i ask that you please play the game and then come and tell me if you still feel the same way afterwards…We gamers aren't bitching out of no where lol we have our reasons as to why we feel the way we do and its because we are basing most of our perspectives from the “GAME” which the show is “ADAPTING”…the show wouldn't be born without the game in the first place so we have the right to base our opinions using the game as our base to compare to an extent…don't get me wrong though there are episodes that did better with certain things such as episode1,2,& 5 which is one of my favorites episodes being on par or better than the game, also joels amazing acting and monologue’s with ellie and tommy in episode 6

jiggyj

fr like I'm always here for criticism but atp ppl are just whining about how they didn't make this John Wick: The Series lol and this episode is sooo important for Ellie's character too but who cares about character building I guess

Nelo_Lobo

And look where she got 'conserving' bullets and not taken the shot.. Dead. Dead as hell. In that mall. Stankin lmao.

Anna Anthony

Laughing at the fact that they make a Euphoria reference while watching, but don't recognize Gia because she wasn't crying the whole time lmaooo

JadonTheEternal

Seriously, I don't understand why everyone is ripping on this episode. I thought it was a great episode, but then again some people want an action packed zombie killing show whereas I personally prefer the more character and relationship driven story where we see the realistic human side of the apocalypse. There was a level of underlying suspense the while time, I was mildly stressed the whole episode, knowing that they were gonna get attacked but without knowing when. The relationship between the two was really cute to see and also fleshes out Ellies character more and let's us see some of her trauma and life before, especially once they show the end of the sequence next episode (I'm imagining/hoping)

Michael Pamon

Crazy how Lupa made a Euphoria reference but didn’t recognize Riley’s actress (Storm Reid) plays Rue’s sister 😂😂😂😂

Michael Pamon

Lmao y’all in these comments saying shit like would be terrible showrunners, cuz clearly yall have never heard of “show, don’t tell”

Michael Pamon

@SnailSpray Lmao huh? The DLC was way more than just a few minutes long, tf are you on? The main game never mentions Riley or explains the reason why Ellie feels so traumatized from her bite. This revisionist history y’all are pulling with this game and show is RIDICULOUS.

MancunianProphecy

Didn't the main game have some dialogue between Joel and Ellie about how she found out she was immune? She doesn't name drop Riley when telling Joel but refers to her as her friend, and explained how they decided to wait it out and turn together... it's heavily implied how it happens and that her friend was a romantic relationship more than a friendship, so by the time the DLC was released nothing came as a shock.

Giyuu

I think he’s crying because he’s dying and he thinks she’s really leaving lmao

Giyuu

In the remake it’s exactly like the show she’s thinking back on it while healing and staying with hurt Joel

Acetag31

People trash other people who criticize that there isn't enough action but can I ask something? Aren't we in the apocalypse? Episodes 1, 2 and 5 are the only episodes that make it feel like we're in an apocalypse. Outside those episodes, the world feels "too safe". Finding an infected is like finding a rattlesnake, you have to go out of your way to find it. I just don't sense the urgency of "Ellie being the key to saving mankind" when the infected barely play a role. 1 in a mall that was restricted due to high infection which btw, massive L to Riley and the fireflies not doing a full sweep of the mall to make sure it's clear. You're gonna tell me you couldn't find one infected that's been chilling there for months.

Sekraan

They're 20+ years into the apocalypse. Outside of a video game it doesn't make sense for them to be facing dire threats at every turn. The show is clear about where the infected reside. Survivors would obviously avoid those areas whenever possible if they want to continue living, as Joel and Ellie do.

Eliana

Storm Reid has been in a lot of stuff lol, She was Idras daughter in the suicide squad movie y’all watched,

Yugwubs

That's like saying game of thrones wouldn't be popular if the book series didn't exist. Get the fuck out of here with your braindead takes bro.

Foxyguava

She said she's been there before...and then it was revealed that she's been guarding the area.

Foxyguava

Don't forget she out right says shes played it before AND that she's been guarding the place for the fireflies. She probably played that game every day. There are so many fatalities that I figured out by chance as a kid with so much time on my hands. Obviously not the more complex ones, but you get my point.

Foxyguava

Idk if it was because of the writer/director, but Idra and Storm's chemistry in their small scene together was phenomenal. They were both so silly but maintained enough seriousness to not undercut the severity of their circumstances.

Foxyguava

Love how Lupa points out the book of puns as an easter egg, as if she hasn't already been reading off the next volume of the pun book throughout the rest of the show already.

Eliana

Agreed! Idk if it’s because they are good actors or had that chemistry or what. But I TRULY could believe that they were A father who was a deadbeat villain locked up in jail and a estranged daughter who obviously does not like him but has no choice but to confide in him 🤣

Cody

So Riley's job would have technically been guarding the people on doodoo duty shoveling the doodoo. So she wouldn't actually be shoveling doodoofeces and I'd imagine probably not a place that would run into clickers or fireflies so in hindsight a pretty legit job.

Mirza

Idk if it's just me but I think it's weird that Riley keeps calling fedra fachist dickbags over and over seems like it's a too modern way of thinking and speaking considering the world went to shit in 2003. I mean I guess they're technically right, but seems out of place for me, like that's something a Twitter user would say.

Amna Khan

That’s an actual abandoned mall where they filmed
