I have mixed feelings about it. Kate’s entire identity is built around escaping her father’s power in search of independence. What she desires more than anything is for her father to accept defeat in micromanaging her efforts and let her live a life of her choosing, whether it leads to failure or success. So while his death may grant Kate physical freedom, she wouldn’t be free mentally. And with her being the favorite child, she would ultimately be forced to handle whatever post death itinerary her father will have set up and there’s really no way to escape it without first having to deal with it. She’d essentially still be living in his shadow and she’d have never received closure to the endless pursuit of independence she’s endured.

i dont really feel like joe was being obsessive about kate. Not yet anyways. I feel like he just wants to be by her side and protect her.With everything those two have done and gone through i would say his level of attatchment is appropriate. It was obsessive before, because he would think all of that intimate stuff about women he hadn´t even talked to because he got to know them through stalking them. Kate is probably thinking similar things about him lmao. about wanting to be with him and help in move forward and escape his past.
