ironic legacy

This episode shows how immature both hachiman and yukino are, hachiman not wanting to bring it up and yukino showing how she has trouble talking about personal things

Zeklo

Watching the "I" in the title shift in real time in the ending is kinda funny.

Danny

immature is hard to say bcuz in the end theyre all kids. but i think its socially awkward bcuz neither of them experienced being close to anyone

Danny

I was also always confused on their dynamic in the past but you gotta think about it like this. Hikigaya and Yukino are both socially inept. Hiki prefers being the background character hating on everything else while Yukino never seen others are more than just acquaintances at best. Thats why it becomes awkward around them because they both dont know how to react or communicate with one another. Yuigahama is the only glue that sticks them together. She wants to know them better, understand them and become friends. Because at this state, you can hardly call them "friends" as they only hanged out around club meetings/activities. And as Yukino and Hikki are both novices at this kind of stuff, shit becomes more difficult than it is. Plus they were already tired and scarred by their respective pasts.

Guav

Yeah 8man basically saw Yuki as perfect which is why he was disappointed that she wasn't cause if she was she wouldnt have "lied"even though its a dumb reason to be dissapointed. Also Yui best girl.

Devin B

At this moment Hikigaya is more concerned about reevaluating his path rather than trying to make things better with Yui and Yukino. Both Yui and Yukino hid the fact that they were involved in the car accident from him and that made Hikigaya question the relationship he has with them as a whole. With Yui he thought her being nice came from her being guilty about the incident and with Yukino her not talking about it destroyed the image he had of her being the kind of person that didn't hide anything. That reveal was the last straw for him cause he thinks if she was hiding the truth about this who knows what else she has hidden. It's unreasonable to expect people to be honest all the time but Hikigaya rather not deal with it if there's even a 1% of them being like the girls he dealt with in the past.

Losalma

I also think that Hikki wasn´t mad about the fact that Yukino hid the fact, I think is most for the fact that he start to idealize Yukino, Hikki create this perfect version of Yukino in his mind and got his hopes up to the possibility that this person wasn´t like all the other people, his final monologue was about Hikki hating himself about creating and been disappointing in this false Yukinon that He himself created in a selfish way

joe

literally. i’m on hikki’s side here, sure the way he does it is dumb, but he’s right in the sense of not wanting to get closer to yui or yuki because he still has these thoughts of them. kinda like the halo effect

Devin B

The sad part about it is that he's aware of what he's doing and is still choosing to play it safe by keeping to himself. Like you said him thinking Yukino never lies and is always straight forward is an example of the halo effect and as soon as he found out about her hiding the truth from him the effect wore off and he realized that Yukino is like everyone else and that fact made him want to distance himself from her before she potentially becomes like every other girl that hurt him. It's definitely selfish on his part but he rather be safe than sorry.

Hello

Iroha clears be fr. Though she wasn't introduced at this point

MWS

Again, the misunderstanding. There isnt a single part of this story Hikki is misunderstanding. All awkwardness created by him is on purpose, a defence mechanism

danial javady

Today i learned that squid dicks and octopus are the same thing 🙏🙏🙏🙏 thank you for this wisdom Sheera

KeYo

i feel like you guys dont care about peoples feeling with their pets. you guys probably dont care about animals which is why you keep saying its the dogs fault like kids run away from parents too. what if that was her little brother? or sister? you guys wouldnt be saying its the kids fault for running into the street and getting hit by a car. you would probably blame her. the dislike for peoples pets shows here. yes it was an an accident but it shold up to the person who was in the car like idk the driver? to apologize or at least mention it to the person not be like oh shit its your dogs fault blah blah like that sounds messed up for someone who just got their pet hit by a car

YaBoyRoshi

absolutely not idk what kinda logic this is, if someone is driving in the road where cars belong and a dog or child runs out into the road god forbid and there is an accident it is NOT the drivers fault if they are following road laws. Her feelings toward her dog have nothing to do with the fact her dog got off the leash and caused this accident. Basically your logic also amounts to if a dog gets off the leash and bites someone its their fault for getting bit lol. As someone who has had dogs and has kids its your responsibility to keep them out of danger, the road is never a safe place

KeYo

i never said it was the drivers fault. you the one who kept saying it was the dogs fault. kids be on leashes too. so its the kids fault they got run over by a car right not the drivers? im going off your words sir lol. i said that the driver should at least apologize or at least have a conversation with the dogs owner. you made it very clear that you would just blame the owner of the dog or the dog itself. its nobodys fault ofcourse but i was just saying you should at least have a conversation with the victim of the accident or the owner of said dog. if a dog bites a person its because the dog was not trained properly to not attack random people. you right i agree the road is not a safe space but the person who hits said victim also has a duty to console or have a conversation with the person.

SmittyWerbenjägermanjensen

I mean if im driving my car legally and someone comes and runs into the middle of the street where only cars are supposed to be, you really cant blame their driver. Yes the driver should have the responsibility to have a conversation with the victim, which is what happened in the show. Later in the season he said his parents at the time took care of it but of course you could assume this happened. He never said he wouldn't have a conversation with the person he just said it's the dogs fault not the drivers fault. Edit: You're right my bad, misinterpreted that

KeYo

you guys blind? or dont read ? i never said it was the drivers fault lmao. i just pointed out that he said it was the dogs fault so im using his logic. if a kid gets away from his parents and gets hit by a car its the kids fault right? i never said it was anybody fault i said the driver should have a conversation the victims because there car hit the person or dog . thank you for letting me know they had a conversation with the people later on. thats basically what i was pointing out

JayX-B

A big part of the reason he's so in his feelings is because this is just a similar situation to yui. Their relationship seems disingenuous now. He thought of her as a flawless and genuine person but is disappointed to find out she's just like anyone.

danial javady

ngl the dark comments surrounding dogs and cats makes me quite uncomfortable. Yui is responsible for that situation. If you're in a busy location with a dog, do your job and be responsible. Don't be careless with the leash. How is the dog at fault for being a dog lol?

YaBoyRoshi

Oh ok I misread what you said lol. Dont take anything we said about it being the dogs fault as anything other than a joke lol. Its obviously the owners fault, its their responsibility as I said in the previous comment above lol. Yall gotta know by now I say dumb shit like that as jokes 😭

KeYo

alright thats fine no problem bro. if it was a joke then hey ill accept that. lol i took it seriously but thanks for clearing that up

artisticSarcasm

Love your reactions, hopefully helpful speculation below. I feel like Hachiman is really just trying to protect himself. Coming from having been rejected in the past and kinda tossed socially in middle school, it's really hard to come back and just open yourself up again to new connections, especially when romantic feelings are potentially involved. I feel like he's very much a sensitive person, and he's very afraid of being hurt again, so it's harder for him to just open up again and let himself be drawn along in the flow with everyone else, even if he's very cognizant of what's going on. It's like, what happens if he does start to believe these coincidences and experiences are authentic and real, just to go and end up taking the same, if not more damage than he did last time. Of course, not saying that makes it logical for him to stay as he is, but it does make it that much harder to heal and feel safe enough to put himself out there authentically again, if he even remembers how to. Speaking from somewhat similar experience, it takes a fair bit of time to dissolve the cynical/protective view, regardless of how awkward/off-putting it might feel to other people. Yukino keeping that info from him, and him having had that attraction to her as well as an assumption of who she is(which he was wrong about) probably has him feeling like middle school all over again. He's upset that he allowed himself to feel that way about another person, and that history is possibly repeating(for him).

So I have shown this series to quite a few people and I think one of the problem that most people have with it is how the problem are very focus on teenagers since the come from the characters inexperience, I think the reason why it doesn't bother me is because I watched it when I was a teen so I could relate to some of them to some extend. That been said I think there are still a lot of problems that you will find as an adult so I hope you can enjoy them.

Infinity

Iroha is best girl and the entire fandom knows it. Yui never had a chance. and Yukino is just a plot device. His relationship with Iroha was the only one that felt natural with no strings attached. Yukinos especially felt super forced for plot convenience and Yui is just a background character for 90% of the show.

nemui

I respectfully disagree, if anything Iroha is clearly introduced as a trickster in the show and if you really think Yukinon is just a plot device, you really missed the whole overall theme of the show. I agree that Yui never had a chance tho.

No reactions today? I can see that they’re live on YT

Teddy McDonald

Roshi im begging you, use another player that isn’t patreon’s. Can watch 4K vids on YouTube but patreon can’t even play above 240p at a consistent rate, makes the content almost unwatchable

Dolfy

It also has an issue where it starts freezing the video if you come back to the site. The audio keeps playing but the video freezes for a few second before skipping to where the audio is. I have to refresh the tab a few times to fix. Really annoying especially after Patreon updated their site to the new look. It's a lot slower to load.

J

Easy fix use any web browser on Patreon instead of the app. It’s annoying that the video keeps getting pixelated so I wanted to test this out and it works fine. I don’t think Patreon even cares about the quality of the videos LOL

Zephyrs

bro i just talked to roshi, he said snafu is for nerds and hung up. Dont think we finishing the series

Zephyrs

Facts. No issue on desktop. Who even watches on the app. Tiny screen for tiny people

Kayla D

will you guys react to psycho pass in the future?

Lil Pickle

where's bungou stray dogs TOT

Adrian Monroy

What the fuck are you guys talking about? First, I'm watching on desktop too and the video quality it's still shit, second, what's the reason of you mocking people beacuse they watch in the app? Grow up

Hughjass

Its funny when people say things and don't know what they're talking about.

Mirrorline

Like Roshi said..this is very childish and I know they're kids but still at least take the sister's advice..its water under the bridge.

Devin B

She said that because she doesn't see it as a big deal but for Hikigaya it's a big deal for Yukino to hide that fact for so long. It's a problem he created himself and he's aware that he's wrong for creating a perfect image of Yukino to begin with so even though he doesn't resent Yukino for it he rather just keep his distance to be safe. It's definitely childish but it's really just his defense mechanism kicking in to prevent him from getting hurt.

DANIEL PEREZ

I think hachiman being a loner at first thought he could get along with yukinoshita but it was him thinking he knew yukinoshita but only as a superficial not what she actually feels like or her family circumstances. and he knows right now as their friend lv each each other are too weak to withstand all the shit they have going on in their lives when they have a stronger bond maybe they will feel easier to talk about their problems with each other, and rely on each other.

Mirrorline

That's the problem with him I think. He kept saying he wanted to put a distance between them..but for what? Hurt by what? Like every girl you are close with has to be a girlfriend? Can't you be friends with a girl like an average person and deal with this normally by talking instead of pushing people away?

Devin B

So one thing to understand is that he's not worried about being rejected by a girl he likes but rather at the core of it he doesn't want to get close to people that aren't genuine. He idolized Yukino for being upfront all the time and he was slowly coming out of his shell but that one instance of her hiding the fact about the incident from him reminded him of the times the girls in his past weren't genuine with him and ended up hurting him in the process. He rather not have any kind of relationship with Yukino if she isn't genuine. Overall he's being childish asf based on his past experiences.

Mirrorline

And that is really immature. People are people. Like he can't figure out that its awkward for Yukino to bring out that topic? He himself could bring it out if he's really want to burry the hatchet. He made that incident not a big of a deal to Yui but then acting butthurt when it comes to Yukinko.

Devin B

Again it's mainly because he had this perfect image of Yukino that it hurts more than when Yui did it. He doesn't have as high of an opinion of Yui as he does with Yukino but it was still kind of a big deal to him when he found out Yui was hiding her involvement in the incident from him and it took Yukino to fix the issue. Now the person that he not only had a high opinion of but also helped him get past that issue with Yui betrayed his expectations so he's going full loner mode as a reminder to never open up. He doesn't care if it's awkward for her to bring it up because he saw her as someone who isn't afraid to be straightforward.

Mirrorline

What Yukino helped him with Yui is the misunderstanding with thinking Yui is close to him because of the incident. he have no problem confronting Yui about the incident and like I said, its very immature to put someone on a pedestal and then when that person turned out not to be perfect, pushed her away instead of figuring out that she's a normal human and actually confront her to put the incident in the past. I hope the story doesnt drag this issue for more than 1 episode after this.

ShyGuy

Roshi ima need you to post episode 10 🗿

TheDroppedFry

Have you guys considered reacting to YouTube content, like the Mandela Catalogue? There is some Grade S material in that lore, and I think y'all would enjoy it as a psychological horror!

$am

LordTouchMe

I feel like a Crack addict who's gone too long without any when I ask, "H-hey, dawg...ya'll got any of those polls on ya??"

Jason

Did Roshi forgot to post EP 10 again?

Jason

That's very true, at the very least, roshi could've posted a post that he either forgotten to record a reaction or forgotten to upload and he will upload it next week, but nope, as always, keeping us in the dark and very rarely does he ever post an update about an episode that he forgotten to upload.

GJ

I guess ur right. I just don’t care as much cause I’m busy playing re4 remake

Arturo1629

Bro really said nah y’all ain’t getting ep 10 dis week 💀

Son Goku

Where is Bungou stray dogs reaction?

Merfhew

It looks like last week's reaction to Bungo Stray Dogs was rescheduled. We'll be seeing Episode 12 tomorrow (Tuesday 3/28), and Episode 13 two days later (Thursday 3/30).

Kévin Chamberlin

if the dog had been hit by the car, it could have been rename " disabled"

Josh

Ofc they’re immature man, they’ve been ostracised most of their time growing up with very little social interactions. Plus they’re teenagers, not really a bright beacon of maturity there.

Lukas

he is not disappointed in her. he is disappointed in himself because he selflishly pushed this idea that she is flawless onto her

Lukas

@infinity, you might have missed a few things if that is actually what you think. also, what do you mean the entire fandom knows it. Yukino is literally the most popular female character of the show, especially among LN readers. you know; the core part of the fandom. Also, how the fuck can Yukino be a "plot device" when her and hachimans character/relationship development literally is the plot. That's like saying Harry needing to defeat Voldemort is a "plot device". Yeah, sure. In the loosest sense of the world that might be true but definitely not in the way that you meant it.

Lukas

Hachiman isn't disappointed in Yukino though. He is disappointed in himself disappointed in himself for selfishly pushing this unreasonable ideal onto her.
