Thorgill was playing no games

Comments

Slussh

10/10 ep!! Thank you for the reaction

Mozart Waddell

It's gonna be fkd up if Thorgil is relying on 'Iron Fist" Kettle for this war. Just to find out he's not him. I really don't think he knows the truth.

Dkai

Thorgil is just that guy

Trashthlete

*Thorgil on Demon Time* Thorkell, "Somehow, I'm regretting not going with Canute to Jelling."

Aj

Thorgil smelled the BS and immediately addressed it😂

Ferdz

Canute is really gonna pull up on Thorfinn the Pacifist and be mad confused

Ginger Dwarf

Coin tossing boy left after Olmar won. I assume he thought the other 4 would then kill Olmar. Not accounting for Thorgil to join the fight. That's my best guess anyway.

Aj

also the hooded up dude isn’t wulf for anyone thinking that

ogking31

What an amazing first half of the season... and a great set up to the 2nd half. Wow. We got this episode AND episode 8 and 9 as masterclass episodes for the 1st half.

zILovePelmeni _

dude in the cloak wasnt wulf, it was the blonde dude next to him

Tyrese Marshall

I still won't understand how people equated Thorfinn renouncing violence (one character) to that meaning there would be zero violence going forward

Godrick

I told yall this man's a problem. THUS ENDS THE FARMVILLE ARC

Mimi

Welcome back!! such a great episode can't wait for y'all to see what's next

Mozart Waddell

Lief with the business acumen. He secured the bag while cutting a deal for Thorfinn. Impressive indeed.

Bosastar

I’m afraid of coins now😂💀

Godrick

Olmars a clown, but tbh i feel for him. Have you ever been so mad youre crying while trying to throw hands? i have... niggas usually don't want the smoke when youre that serious. fuck around and break somebodys jaw cuz your so emotional.. thats an experience that stays with you

MWS

The kings guard thought Olmsted would kill the first guy as planned and then the other guys would jump him

DatKid_Kaneki

i mean kettle seems like hes peaceful but he could possibly be a problem, he looks strong just not as strong as potrayed

Passion

I know things are going to go down but please let my man thorfinn reunite with lief. Give them a nice heartfelt convo about fam back in Iceland before canute’s men get to the farm

Offw0rlder

Bruh outta all of them I can't tell who caught it the worst, Thorgil's nightmare fuel

Lash

btw the dude with the coins was not wulf

Kenisha & Kim

its gonna be the biggest plot armor if thorfinn talk no jujustu canute like the only way i would be ok with it if he started off with peace but then be like ok ur obviously not listening so i need to be violent for u to get it or the classic side step

Sudds

Next 2 episodes gonna be HEAVY

Dragon

lol right thorkell fucking brooding from a shift in the force lol

Trashthlete

What? Farmland is still going. Things are gonna ramp up, but its still the same arc.

Theo Vorster

For those who are interested in reading along with the manga, this episode adapted the entirety of chapters 77-78. The next episode appears to be finally adapting the last five pages of chapter 73 and all of chapter 74 along with chapter 79 (since the anime rearranged the original presentation/order of scenes from different settings). So this is an easy mistake to make, but the coin-guy (likely one of Canute’s espionage men) is not the same person as Wulf. While they have similar hair color and both have facial hair, if you pay close attention you can tell their faces (and voices) are different. If it wasn’t clear from this episode, Canute’s plan for Olmar originally just involved getting Olmar to maim/kill one of the king’s messengers, and then be killed/captured in turn (in order to create a “justification” for arresting Ketil and seizing his assets). However, as Wulf said, Thorgil intervening and killing the remaining messengers and guards was an unplanned oversight, though now Canute has even more “justification” to arrest a seize the assets of the Ketil family. Some other bits of trivia: the scene of Einar and Thorfinn plowing and watching the sunset at the end of this episode was an anime original scene. Also there was a line of Canute’s that’s somewhat important to his characterization that got cut (likely for run-time). Anyways the cut line comes right after Canute asks the haunting head of his father why the latter is laughing, and the cut line Canute follows up with is: “Is the deepening of my sin entertaining to you?”. So if it wasn’t clear from the rest of Canute’s characterization this episode, he is quite self-aware of the immoral qualities of his plans to seize Ketil’s farmland.

Theo Vorster

Yeah, basically the coin-guy (who is not Wulf) didn’t anticipate Thorgil being such a problem.

olivia

wulf was not the man in the hood, i repeat, wulf was not the man in hood. that was a completely different character 🙏

Theo Vorster

Eh, if one isn’t paying close attention it’s a reasonable mistake to make, as Wulf and the coin-guy have similar hair color and both have facial hair. Also with the previous episode ending with Canute plotting with Wulf, the audience is already primed to expect Wulf to be part of the plotting.

Theo Vorster

Yeah the heavy wheezy breathing Olmar was doing was very accurate to how some people look/sound when they get uncontrollably upset.

Jose Iglesias

To Sheeras point about Thorfinn not being happy about Leif’s deal, I think any slave in history would be happy to have a deal made for their freedom lol plus Leif never wanted Thorfinn to be a warrior, he wants him to find peace

Moses T24

To me, I think the only reason it wouldn't be ok is that Thorfinn wouldn't want to leave Einar back as a slave to farm by himself, and in a sense, Thorfinn has already found his own peace

Fallen.1

That’s just it tho, if he has his freedom, it’ll be his choice to stay or go. Ketil told him he could stay and continue to farm the land if that’s what he wants.

Zach Saltou

yo. 102 isnt enough either, this is the new and improved thorphin

Fallen.1

That’s what I was thinking as well but circumstances have changed now lol so maybe it’ll be part of the reason Thorfinn decides to stay and fight with them.

Mozart Waddell

I hope he's a sleeper because with Thorfinn following his code the only reliable ones are Thorgil and Snake. That's not enough manpower.

KeYo

ahhh farmland saga is over.....its time for battle saga lol.

Outcast107

Really glad you guys are enjoying this season. Didn't think you three would be hating, but its a shame that so many are just because of no action. Oh well, their lost.

PolishWizard

Feel like what happened to Olmar could possibly shape him into a good successor to Kelti if they manage to regain the farm.

NecDW4

Man, i just wanna see something like Thorgil start getting uppity and full of himself only for Canute to go "Yo, Thorkell, straighten this fool out" LUL

Terry King Jr

I bet they cut that Canute line because Ghost Daddy's line about Canute beginning to resemble his father would've made it redundant.

Theo Vorster

I doubt it has anything to do with redundancy since the “resembling your father” line was in the manga too.

Joshua

whatever name my girl wants for our kid, i'm adding thor in front of it.

Stephen D

Olmar started ugly crying. You know shit is about to get bad once someone starts ugly crying.

Deric J

Y’all are in for a ride from here on out with this series! Became my favorite manga from this point forward

Sergio

these next couple episodes will be peak

Joey Zero

Lief is the ultimate mastermind. Set up the entire thing. From Olmar asking to join the guard, to Thorgil killing the men and Ketil needing a quick getaway. Made it so they are in his debt all to secure the bad and get Thorfinn back.

Mozart Waddell

I literally can't tell if your being sarcastic. Sense of awareness is set to zero. I'm glad you agree Lief is a shrewd negotiator as well. If your joking let me know.

Skebaba

Yeah but they know Olmar is shit-tier (and they are literally big bois under employ of the king himself)

Hans Wurst

Olmar isn't that bad in my eyes. He's an idiot but he takes a lot after his dad. He could have killed Thorfinn and Einar back then but he was not willing to go through with it despite them being 'just slaves'. His biggest problem is that he is corrupted by norse morals and his brother into seeking a life that just isn't for him.

Drake Rage

The coin dude wasn't Wulf, you see Wulf's BIG ass scars all across his face? The coin dude didn't have any scars.

DsWorldd •

Wulf got a big ass scar on his face and dude always has his eyes shut. They just both have brown hair. Coin dude was some unnamed guy, I think his name was Gotoh or maybe Connor from cyberlife

Erica Collins

I can't decide if I hate Olmar because of his pride or feel bad for him because of how bad he keeps embarrassing himself. I hope this experience changes him for the better tho

Drake Rage

I am happy that didn't turn out into a worst case scenario where Ketil got killed or arrested. It looks like there will be some character growth with Olmar since he probably finally realized becoming a "warrior" wasn't what he thought it was going to be, the feeling of killing people, etc.

Nabi

I guess the plan was like this, Olmar kills one guard then gets killed by other guards. The plan was successful at first but then Thorgill killed the guards that supposed to kill Olmar. That's why they were shocked why Olmar is alive.

Erica Collins

Same. I really like Ketil & hope he doesn't end up dying because of this mess. When he said, "what did I do to deserve this?" I felt so bad because he literally did nothing wrong. He just so happened to be a successful farmer

Mari

This episode had me dying bruh 😂😂

Philbo

I have no issue with there being a minimal amount of action in this season so far. I actually appreciate that they are focusing on character development. My gripe with this season is that we watched thorfinn work on farm for 9 damn episodes with the no progression to the plot. Canute’s story is very intriguing and it’s pushing the storyline forward. Like I’d Canute didn’t do what he was doing then would me would have an entire season of thorfinn and einar farming…. And I think it was a couple episodes ago when he had the nightmare/dream running into askeladd and I loved that but I hated the fact that thorfinn started crying and apologizing to the people he killed cause to me it literally made no sense why he all of sudden started feeling bad about the people he killed years ago. Also, I have 0 interest in einar after what he did in the first episode. If he gets better later then cool but at this moment, not a fan. There is more but this shit is too long as it is lol but that’s just my opinion on it.

Manny

"who's he talking to? us?" im fucking crying bro

Candy

regarding to action it depends on how many seasons they doing really but they spent the entire first seasons building this nigga thoriffin up to be a problem a warrior just at the start of season 2 to swore of violence even after the encounter with fox when even he saw like yea your body is trying to tell you that your a warrior i head someone say its like that in the manga that he actually sticks to it till the end so i dont know how much they will be following the manga but for if they did like the viking show when ragnar was savage and humble at the same time and them became wise at end that would be great

ogking31

When you're 6 years old and swore on revenge and full of hatred without any remorse to what you kill. That literally shows he had nothing but revenge in his mind in 11 years he was with askeladd. So him feeling bad afterwards LITERALLY shows his humane nature than just being a psychopath. There is a plot to the farm, wanna know the plot is? Thorfinns character growth and realization and the internal battles. This isn't battle shounen where the plot is usually external

Rebel Gamester

But it does make sense that he felt bad. He felt bad in season 1 when he told those people to run but they didn't, and he still gets nightmares about everything when he sleeps. Even after hearing Einar's story, he always imagines himself as the villain in that story. Him feeling bad didn't come out of nowhere, it was just that he was consumed by his vengeance in season 1 and didn't stop to realise until after Askeladd was gone

Fizzy

there actually people like olmar in the real world, they so obsessed with seeking validation from others

Barion

Unfortunately yes. It's important to show those people that everyone can achieve greatness in different ways. You don't have to be a star in music or sports but you can be leader of your community or a scientist that advances humanity as a whole, for example.

Oliver

It was not Wolf shooting the coins it was his subordinate that stood behind him when talking with King Canute. I say king because he earned that title

Devin B

For me it's a little more towards hate cause he allowed himself to get baited like that cause of his pride but with the way he was feeling about actually killing someone I think there is a high chance of him changing

Dale Cooper

I hope you are a teenager because if not you are emotionally stunted. Children don't understand what they have done or seen until they are older in alot of cases. Realizing you did unchangeable shit and trying to reconcile your reason for being alive has to be insane. Honestly anyone who is complaining at this point just highlights their immaturity and should really just go watch another anime or grow up.

Philbo

@Dale Cooper, 1 no im not a teenager and 2. dont start bitching at people for having an OPINION. you're acting like im saying this anime is complete dog shit and im not, but even if i was thats MY OPINION. so get your panties out of your ass and relax lol

Asellian

bruh season 3 about to go hard but its a good place to end it :'(

john

what are you talking about its 24 episodes long like season 1

That Guy

I just went to the vinland saga wiki and found out this dude thorgill is 24.wtf!!

Knightmares

And then they were to arrest ketil to hold responsibility of the act of his dead son You got it right my guy👌🏾

A1_MiLFshAkE

Thorgill's BS meter definetely been up since the meeting with Canute. Thorgill put in a word about meeting the king and they were almost. immediately able to see him this is a red flag as a king has more important matters when compared to meeting a simple landowner.

WeavyBoo

Lupa really said "Who is he talking to? Us?" XDDDD

Ithnan Cryo

I think the reason they were suprised was because they didn't expect Thorgill to be there. The dude that launched the coin probably didn't speak to them so they just expected the friends of the man that died to kill Olmar and take the father under arrest

ok

Is there a reason yall dont watch with the official subs? edit: i mean ive not seen one comment about this even though the change in sub is somewhat changing the meaning of certain scenes like that last one with Cnute ... i get it if WE see non copyrighted versions but why are yall watching the bootleg too? im confused. i thought it wasnt like that before?

melloburner

they watch official subs but the subs we see are bootleg for copyright reasons im sure

L.C.

No one else hearing static sound in the background of the audio....

Infinity

i think what Torfin meant is he swore off violence not fighting. His father never swore off fighting he swore of violence. I think its about the Warriors path of being a protector rather than an assailant. Im sure he's gonna pop up to defend that farm.,

Alex

Holy shit this is a good anime.

FlorYA19 Arauz

“Who he talking to ? Us?” I SCREAMED 😭😭

rayman

what are yall talking about? Their subs are the normal CR subs. Where are yall watching where the subs are different?

rayman

what subordinate? where? We've never met or seen the coin guy in the show before this.

Mary L.

Canute wanting to create a "utopia" through death and violence is big Light Yagami energy. I still fw him tho ngl bc to quote Roshi, "Canute is beautiful."

Precious

I thought Thorgill was just an unstable meathead, this episode really mad me like him, he's the only reason his brother and father is still alive

Shawn Oxley

Thorgil been a problem off rip, he's like Thorkell but with a brain
