Did anyone else think the Infinity Castle scene was longer than necessary? The animation was gorgeous, and the story was intriguing, but it felt like they could have trimmed it down by 3 - 5 minutes without losing anything. I'm usually the sort of person who wants every single panel from a manga to be animated, so it feels weird to think this.

@Ruben - I'd be very surprised (and confused) if Tanjiro's dad is somehow Upper 1, so I'm not gonna disagree on that point. However, in a fictional story where immortality has been discussed, I don't think the ''Upper moons haven't changed in 100+ years'' comment necessarily disqualifies the ''Upper 1 = Dad'' theory. He wouldn't be the first immortal or slow-aging Dad in anime history, nor would he be the first anime parent to fake their death. As an anime-only viewer, I'm still in the dark about a lot (by choice), but a plot twist like that doesn't seem 100% impossible at this point (unless we saw Tanjiro's dad die in a flashback, but I think it happened offscreen before the series started). It does feel unlikely, though, as Tanjiro's dad was in pretty bad shape. An ancestor seems more probable.

A lot of people got confused with the dream flashback thing. Just to clear it up, the person there is sumiyoshi, but that's not tanjiro's dad, that's most likely an ancestor since we've seen tanjiro's dad and his dad's name is tanjuro kamado. He has a scar on his head similar to tanjiro and we've seen him a couple times in the first season. But it's easy to forget cuz it's been a long while.

There's also the fact that it's been said a fair amount of times now that the Upper Ranks haven't changed in over 100 years. Tanjiro's dad died when Tanjiro was a child. Making it impossible for his dad to be Upper One, much less a demon, in the first place.

Ya'll probably will read the comments and finally get the pieces in the right order but: Dude talking to the long-haired guy isn't Tanjiro's dad. Two different names. Tanjuro and Sumiyoshi. Upper One can't be Tanjiro's father for multiple reasons. 1. Tanjuro openly went into the sunlight. Not even Muzan has been seen in the sun. 2. He's dead. Not missing or any other thing. Confirmed dead by Tanjiro. 3. Upper Ranks have stayed the same for 113 years. Don't have to be too good at math but if Upper One is still around...means he's been alive for 100 years plus. 1. The person at the end of the episode can't be Upper One, because it's daytime. All demons will be obliterated under the sunlight, no matter how strong they are. You saw how desperate Akaza was when he had to abandoned his arms to escape when the sun comes up in the movie. 2. Upper One can't be Tanjiro's dad either, because it has been 113 years since an Upper Moon was killed, so each of the current Upper Moon has to be 100+ years old. He cannot be in disguise either because we saw him in direct sunlight so he is not a demon. 3. Their names are different but it has been a long time so only a few people remember. It's Tanjuro, not Sumiyoshi.

Nope, I think you are talking about the next arc, that one is the longest as it is the last arc, but might be in 22-24 episodes as I think some parts will be generated as a movie. This arc is basically the same as last one in length.

Something actually about DS: I've heard the theories that this could be a brother, or maybe he was turned by muzan and made number 1. Also that he can switch forms, Maybe he already found the blue spider lily and is keeping it from Muzan, etc... HOWEVER... I think it's simple. I think tanjiro is just seeing things and that THIS guy at the end is just a random person who looks the same, but is from the same clan that wears those earrings. He's probably THAT guy's son, or greater decendant, and that's why they look alike. BUT Tanjiro will be able to get info from him... probably 😆 lol

Way too far fetched theory about him being the upper one. First of all, I don’t think that was a dream, more like a memory from when he was a baby and the one that looked like tanjiro is really tanjiro’s dad. And if thats the case then that guy with the earring cannot be upper moon 1, cus it is said the upper moon rankings have never changed for 113 years, meaning the upper moon was still the upper moon 113 years ago. (Also remember that Douma the upper moon 2 said that he became a demon after akaza but didnt mention upper moon 1 also becoming a demon before akaza, so upper moon one was a demon even before akaza and we saw that Douma was a demon wayyyy back when Gyotarou the deceased upper moon 6 was still human) So that means the one in the swordsmith village is the same one that talked to tanjiro’s dad in the past. Also that man was standing out in the sun.

Actually, you have already seen that man before, in the last season, while Tanjiro was fighting Daki on the ceiling, Daki felt fear when seeing Tanjiro and felt him.

So likely centuries in the past, since you can see that this nibba's wife looks like Nezuko does. While I understand that people have good intentions, I'm starting to wonder if the word ''spoiler'' has finally lost all meaning. This isn't One Piece opening 3, which blatantly revealed an unexpected future addition to the Straw Hat pirates, and it's not Attack on Titan opening 5, which revealed the next Colossal Titan due to some super obvious foreshadowing that even anime-only viewers could put together. I'm an anime-only viewer of Demon Slayer, I watched this new opening, and I have no clue what was ''spoiled'' for me. There's a difference between watching something and slowly analyzing what you watched. Perhaps there's information in the opening which, upon rewatching numerous times, could reveal future events or battles, but I doubt a single watch-thru would spoil anything for them.

Last season we had upper moon 6 defeated, so just on non-spoilery logic alone, they will more than likely fight the next upper moons right, otherwise it'd just be a downgrade.

@Tokumei - There are numerous anime openings that feature fights which never occur in the actual story. Sometimes, the ''fight'' being hinted at is nothing more than a brief, one-sided altercation. Other times, the characters shown fighting never even interact. It's possible that the fights shown in this particular opening are the real deal, but unless you've read the manga or been spoiled by someone who has, it's only speculation.

True. People are getting so triggered by “spoiler”. If you cannot tell the starting Infinity Castle scene has spoilers, the it works the same as the opening. Those are just cool animation to anime-only viewers because there is literally no info for you to predict. You even need to come back to these scenes on purpose once finished the show, doing some analysis and then decide if this is kind of a “spoiler”. I am a manga reader and these are more like small credits instead of spoilers.
