Yooo

Cheesecake

I would have been like “nigga don’t fuck up my anime before I come at you I just watched demon slayer and have mastered blick breathing and know all the clip styles”

Don Kim

When they talk over and don’t pay attention to the one part of the episode I wanted to see how they’d react to :( It is what it is LOL

Ash

The cut away after bringing up promise neverland tho lmao

Kingmakaii

I love this anime😭

greenb3ar

So from my understanding when Aka was writing this they were making a trash Kaguya live action show, so I definitely think there is some shade being thrown. Plus as much as I think A1 knocks it out of the park with Kaguya they've also skipped a good bit too. Thankfully they released a BTS the other day on episode one and seems like there are some very big OnK fans working on this.

wavyesper

We don't deserve this Kana and Oshi no Ko justice in general, they are putting their blood and sweat in this adaptation😭 props to Aqua’s va he was going crazy

Hamshank

The critique doesn't end here y'all the show gets way too real sometimes with the commentary on the Japanese entertainment industry

Devin B

Me personally I'm not gonna consider someone my friend until I somewhat get to know them. I can be cool with someone but that doesn't mean they're my friend.

Random Guy

The author was telling the truth. I've actually watched a lot of live action anime/manga adaptation but there's only 2 so far that I really liked. One is the rurouni kenshin 1-3 movies and gintama live action. All other live action I've seen were never really as good as the anime. Most live action don't even follow the story of the source material. Great Teacher Onizuka was also pretty decent especially the older one. But both the old and remake have their good and bad sides. I generally dont have a very good impression of japanese live action dramas just because a lot of their acting seems very cheap like the author's friend said compared to kdrama.

Authentic

This show is so good and the commentary around the Japanese entertainment industry in this episode really makes me curious about how much a mangaka even has a say in the production stages of an anime or live adaptation. Like do they have any power to intervene or make edits?

Devin B
>>107780225

I think it depends on what kind of contract the mangaka makes with the production studio adapting their story but it seems like most mangakas give up some of their creative rights to the studios cause we've seen stories deviate from the source material before.

twinuzis

ik boruto writer mad asl watching this show

John Strickland

There actually is a live action adaptation for love is war and he was throwing shade at them for that.

Matrim Hall

Me and my best friend to this day met first day of first grade during recess. He asked me if I wanted to be friends and i said yes. Bada-bing bada-boom, it's that easy.

Riku

This show has been so fun

Kami_Psy

That manga they were adapting "Sweet Today" is actually in Kaguya-sama: love is war. There was one episode where they were all crying over it and spoiling each other on what happens. So there is your 1st bit of a reference that they are in the same world

HIM

Took a week off, but caught up today! This show gives me major Skip Beat feels, and it sucks, because I LOVED that manga TOO much lol (another Shojo about acting, with more classic rom-com elements). I fell in love with anime because of how you can get an inside glimpse of a life you may dream of living, or of a life you can NEVER imagine in your wildest dream. The inner workings of an actor, director (maybe), mangaka, even a fan... All of these insights is really selling me on this Mangaka more than anything! 😆 I guess it's time I start Kaguya-sama. But this is dope! Our boy leveled up after years behind the scenes. While he was developing his thesis on who killed Ai, I think he developed an Eye for the camera 😉

Josiah Koron

idk if yall caught it and i dont see anyone commenting it, the final scene when they are recording the show the book says the final scene is the girl (kana) falls in love with the "protagonist" (supposed to be the model kid whose buns at acting) but in the final shot you can see she's looking at aqua, just picked that up watching through with yall but a nice hint for sure

Devin reid

A nigga like me got 11 followers on kick

DANIEL PEREZ

we also got a clue to more people ai could have met all for doing that scene. Aqua needs more planning if this director found it weird aqua looked alot like AI so he needs to be careful cause if it was the dad still wants to hide that he fathered to kids kid a then 16 yr old girls he is prob willing on killing them if they get close. he had no qualms about killing ai while pregnant nor hide the doctors body and then trying again to kill ai and prob her kids so, he def has eyes and ears as to what both aqua and ruby are doing. whoever their biological father is he is now a BIG part of the industry and tried to get rid of anyone who would mess his ticket to the top % when he found out she was pregnant. Aqua needs allies he doesn't need to tell them he plans on killing the guy but he can't go alone in this but he can't use ruby she would at the slightest whiff of who might be their father she would confront him and get hurt or killed.

Frill Shiranui's Sister is the Kaguya as well but she's only been mentioned in passing so far. Her actual debut should be next season depending on how much they cover, which will be funny seeing the Anime Only's reaction to the Oshi no Ko connection in reverse.

HIM
>>107783298

It looked purely implied, but I was asking myself "Who you lookin' at, girlfriend!?". I honestly thought she was possibly just thinking of Aqua to make that face 🥰

MaybeNextTime

Tokyo Ghoul been trash after season 1. 😂

HIM

Yo, this has been a nostalgic week for me, so bare with me, BUT... anyone a fan of OG Panic! At the Disco? 😆 After watching this episode, my brain is just non-stop "Let's get these teen heart beating faster, faster... Let's get these teen hearts beating faster..." That 1st album is a wave, a mood, and a revolution all-in-one 😎

Denickart

So that pink haired chick was a pinup model for that magazine Ishigami was reading in Kaguya-sama.

Sixaxis112

Them trashing on Boruto always makes me laugh.

Al Mangampat

The promised Neverland though.

Chance

seven deadly sins used to be a fire anime

Davido
>>107778793

I know exactly what scene you talking about haha I was like dang they missed it

HIM

Nah, baby girl said "Earlier, I didn't think his acting was very good", AFTER she gave our boy that heart to heart about how happy she was to see his acting and that he was just like her in a way. NAHHH, she's still a snake 😆 She was happy to see he hadn't surpassed her and was glad he was struggling like she was. Or so she thought! Now I think that look on her face was more about realizing he wasn't on her level and she's gonna fall in love with the fact the he's HIM now. She was really on some low-key narcissistic infatuation type shit at first 😂 that's wyyyld

Gustavo Martínez

I almost die with 'of course boruto'. After last episode I couldn't wait any longer and read the manga and now I'm caught up. I this level of animation and adaptation continues this can easily be a classic in 1 or 2 seasons. Best show of the year at the moment

Kisuke01

I can think of 4 Anime that fucked the manga wether it be Animation or that they just messed with the story. Soul Eater, Promised Neverland, Tokyo Ghoul, and Seven Deadly Sins.

Zachary Jackson
>>107780036

same. I've worked with the same person for 5 years, we interact with each other every day for hours, and I literally didn't even know her last name or her phone number until like a week ago. maybe there's a reason I don't have many friends.... lol

Chimpman
>>107789404

I will never get over Promised Neverland, bro. Fuck, it deserved so much better. And the first season was actually pretty damn good as an adaptation, even if it was a lot faster paced.

ThatOneGuy

You see Lupa for Boruto to be a trash adaptation it should at least be adapted and not 95% filler but yes it’s ass water

The GoDKing 27

Some studios just ain’t got the bugdet

Just Shinji

Now I imagine Lupa asking Roshi "yo bro, let's paint our nails" when they first met 😂

Ventura

need a Tokyo Ghoul complete manga adaptation before i die

Bird

A very small part of me wishes this anime sucked, because then the anime adaptation of a great manga would be making jokes about messing up a manga adaptation lol.

Danny
>>107800651

roshi def onto something lol. they read this part and be like "oh shit we gotta break our backs so we dont get roasted"

A1_MiLFshAkE
>>107779274

I'm actually pretty hyped for this really want to see which direction they go with it

Leanne Stephenson

I have heard (dunno if its true) that a character from love is war makes a cameo in the manga 🤷‍♀️

Ethan
>>107789404

Imma throw in Overlord, shit is just disappointing. Literally one of the top selling light novels consistently for like 7 years. Getting animated by THE Madhouse studio. The studio behind One Punch Man, Hunter X Hunter, Death Note, Highschool of the Dead, Sonny boy, Death Parade, Hellsing, Trigun, NGNL, and Black Lagoon. And we got 4 seasons of rushed adaptations with terrible CG and lack of atmosphere? Wtf happened, where has the great direction and action gone?

Wilson Nguyen
>>107841838

i dunno if u would consider this spoiler but it is confirmed that love is war and oshi no ko share the same universe

Ped
>>107800651

It would be funny if they made every episode after the first have bad animation and then the second the mangaka commentated on it the anime just gets ultra HD ufotable level animation

DsWorldd •
>>107789404

I'm so surprised I haven't seen anybody mention berserk 2016 adaptation, they butchered the living shit out of the peak story and the animation😭💀

RF

BTW, this is actually co created by another author whose work (Scum's Wish) has also been adapted into a short anime. People tend to forget that because she's not as famous as the guy who made Love is War, but you can notice a lot of her influences in this series. Like Ai's entire thing about being a "lie" and her belief that if she lies enough maybe it'll eventually become "true" and her issues about how she saw herself as more of a product than a person, and her fears that she might be incapable of loving anyone, even her own children.

Harmonial

that is mad weird tho ngl. They got High Schoolers as Pin up models like wtf lol

Nabi
>>107789404

berserk is just buried deep down in hell, don't even mention its name

TimeClock

If you like the part about manga you will absolutely love Bakuman

SeriouslyJet

I don't know why but every time you mention the name "aqua" that useless water goddess/priest face keeps flashing in my mind 🤣

Jordan

Non spoiler fun fact: The VA for Frill Shiranui is the same VA as Nobara Kugisaki (Jujutsu Kaisen), Raphtalia (Shield Hero), as well as Mai Sakurajima (Bunny Girl Senpai).

godUsoland
>>107782609

Skip Beat... that takes me back. Such a classic. I need to catch back up.

godUsoland
>>107780068

Samurai Live Action adaptations are usually the only ones to get a good adaptation. Dunno why, maybe they have way too much experience with samurai films that they can do it justice. Never saw GTOs live adaptation, I might check it out.

L.C.

Disagree with sheera. Girls are more likely to act friendly up front but then talk shit about each other behind their back. Guys tend to not give a shit and if they don't mind each other they willing to be homies from the get go. Guys are a lot more likely to be homies with each other from the jump even if it isn't a solid friendship its still something similar. Girls can see another girl and just straight up talk shit right away especially if they don't like the girl for whatever reason.

L.C.

I never will ever understand how Japanese people somehow think moles under the eye or under the mouth is an attractive feature. I like some girls with freckles but its a big difference between freckles and mole spots. Its just so weird.

SoggySoup

Kenichiro Aoki was the Aqua of OPM S2. Dude single-handedly animated almost every poppin scene in that season.

HIM
>>107782609

I feel you! I left off on the part where Ren and Kyoko were role-playing as brother a d sister 😭(sorry if that's a spoiler!)

Carolina indian

Man gods of high school , tower of god (personally i think they sabotage korean manhwa so manga and anime stay on top while korean anei doesn't get a chance unless japanese studios make it), Records of Ragnarök , seven deadly sins, now this new one im watching "Watching I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World too" i know the authors are like wtf rn

saito00

Yo the whole time i was thinking of promised neverland cuz i was so mad i read the manga and it couldve been so good man

Arc

Idk what Roshi is on about guys making friends easy. When I started doing MMA, nobody knew my name for the first 2 weeks. That's 10 days of meeting the same dudes, nobody felt the need to socialize - neither did I.

iChris
>>108517823

Well it also greatly depends on the environment. I’d say making friends at a general school would be easier and quicker than a MMA training ground where the main focus is competing to see who’s the strongest and winning

iChris
>>107795236

True but if they know they don’t have the budget then why adapt it in the first place?

Cliptastic
>>108517823

I don’t know half of my friends names but still friends and talk to them everyday. Girls are fake to each other so they appear as friends until one them starts major drama then there true colors show

Lupa is Dadi

nah why yall cut near the end 😭 let me cook y’all 😭

john
>>107795236

to make money because some people gonna watch it no matter what just like in this episode.

Coatl45
>>107939779

It’s probably a translation error or something. They’re probably just models for magazines that you’d find in grocery stores.

Coatl45
>>107779812

Just the Japanese industry? I get the feeling that most of what happens in the industry in Japan can be found in every other entertainment industry.

JotaroDrake

Yeahhh?? They drinking Berserker?? Fake ass Monster😂😂😂😂

JotaroDrake

Speaking of reality shows I hope yall watch Ted Lasso bro it’s funny asf

JotaroDrake

I think women friends just have a higher lvl of intimacy off rip. Niggas just make hella casual friends that don’t gotta be anything more than that.
