wavyesper

Run? Who? Where? WHHYYYYYY???!!!! One of the hardest lines this year for no reason😂🗣🗣

Kisuke01

My favorite episode only because majority of what happens in this episode is Anime Only. One thing I will say is that I hate the way the anime makes Cid/Shadow to be the bad guy because in the Light Novel and Manga he tells Iris something like "I'm not your enemy there's other people you should be watching out for"

LiquidXGravity

I almost committed genocide you just saved the world your a hero

RUtheDon

Glad yall made it through PEAK and thanks for dropping the last 2 eps together! I actually joined yalls Patreon when and because yall started this lol! Was a great decision as the other full reactions have been a BLAST to watch every week since then!

The trailer for season 2 came out a week after the final episode y'all should react to it

Flare

Man I sensed the cap from a mile away💀

Coreyy

My apologies for the long comment ahead of time. Iris being pissed at the beginning of the episode had little to nothing to do with her thinking Mundane didn’t deserve the victory because he was Shadow all along. Her hatred came from seeing Shadow, the person she believed to have wreaked havoc all over her capital. From thinking Shadow and Shadow Garden were behind Alexia’s kidnapping, to Cid’s first “I Am Atomic” nuking that big chunk of the city, to the fake Shadow Garden taking the entire school hostage then burning it down, then Shadow being shown only killing Lutheran Barnett but not until after Barnett revealed he was the one who killed Sherry’s mother in the exact same way that Shadow killed him. And now you take the series of events from her being defeated by MM (Shadow) then seeing who she believes to be her homeland’s biggest enemy literally right in front of her showing himself after toying with her their entire fight and having the people begin to doubt her strength which hit her hard cuz she said last episode “These cheers are my strengh” so having everyone witness her getting owned that way killed her. You can see even after the 2v1 she was mentally broken by the whole ordeal but she just tried to put on a brave face considering she NEVER experienced defeat until Shadow beat her soundly TWICE within the space of like 30 minutes

Brandon Rodgers

Idk if anyone else noticed but if you rewatch the first episode it shows her with the short hair at the end

Coreyy
>>108907308

Yeah it’s kinda weird especially when you think back to the end of episode one when he literally says he doesn’t wanna be the big villain, the final boss 😂

Kingmakaii

Better then me cuz personally me I would of leveled the whole city finna show y’all what real power is turn this entire city into a baron wasteland 😭🤣

Shane x Masters

It’s a show with a completely real story that gets thrown off by cids BS it’s like if the final boss in an RPG just showed up partway through

Iggy

credits actually changed Rose name to 666

Vongola Fiamme

when ole girl finds out shadow and cid are the same person shes gonna be extra down bad

vork88

i kind of wish they saw the season 2 trailer

StarFuture

I Fucking love this show

Requiem_Phantom

Some possible recommendations for polls in the future. Anime: Drifters: A show that has nothing to do with drifting but is a really fun, interesting watch. Only one season, so would be a quick watch but worth it. A really cool opening too. Terrarformars: Honestly, this one is wild. Not a top-tier anime or anything; pretty average, but just will in theory, and honestly would just love to see ya'lls reactions to it. Hope no one spoils anything about it or ya'll read anything on it cause I would love to see ya'lls surprise when you guys see who the bad guys are. Lol. Two seasons with a few OVA's. Live Action: Andor: Should definitely watch Andor, not only is it a top-tier show overall, but definitely one of the best star wars shows and the best thing Disney has put out with the IP. Just a few recs for future polls or something. Keep up the great work guys, love the content!

Darion Wilson

season 2 in october!!!!! aye!!!!!!

wondung

Witch from mercury next

pied piper

Oh, don't worry Lupa. In season 2 you're gonna get all you wanted and then sum.

obey

yall should watch an anime movie called Redline, shits super gass trust 🔥

Emiliano Reyes Andrade

Fun Fact, Rose's VA credits in the end are given to 666 instead of Rose's character LMAO

VictorBR45

Yeah, at first, I dropped the show when I found out it was an isekai. It felt like they had thrown away such a good story. But I gave it a second chance after hearing so much praise.

Amy Johnson

i fuckin love Cid, he's just so unnecessarily epic as shadow like dude you could finish these people sooo quickly every time

JsnSkg

I feel so bad for Iris. She's so damn powerful, and definitely a very high-tier warrior. She can hold her own against many foes. She's THE Princess Iris. But she's utterly powerless against Cid Kagenou/Mundane Mann, who is god mode incarnate. Not to mention, she's lived her whole life knowing she's skilled and powerful, with so many people relying on her, militarily carrying the Midgar kingdom on her shoulders. Suddenly this "nobody" comes out of nowhere and basically humiliates her and makes her look like a joke. I'd be hella upset too. I don't blame her. It's just a huge shock to her system. So idk wym by "don't be mad now"... why wouldn't she be mad, in her situation? There are VERY few ppl who wouldn't be mad in her shoes, if any at all. "Niggas lose everyday." But she doesn't. That's the whole fucking point. A lifelong winner with the burden of a kingdom on your shoulders, as well as a whole lot of pride. Her reaction is extremely understandable. It's also hilarious that you think she'd be the type to take shit sitting down, literally after the previous episode. It's not about whether she thinks she can win or not, it's a matter of pride.

KeYo

listen yaboychingy i dont like that right thurr okay dont play with my emotions lol

Darion Wilson

Always go in with no expectations and never overthink. Yall go in trying to be mathematicians and scientist. Let the story tell itself lmao!!

Fooni

Can't wait till season 2

Masha

I am so geeked for Season 2, should be coming out in October

Cameron Robinson
>>108911682

And in her mind she was beaten by terrorist who can nuke cities and now, it has been proven to her (and maybe the people at the stadium) that she has no way to stop him. The papers can say that she helped push Shadow away, but she knows and has to live with the fact that at any moment Shadow could come in, nuke the capital and she could do nothing about it. That’s just extra levels of powerless to feel being the most powerful in your country.

Dan

nah that wasnt the gambling friend, that was the gold dude who "never lost" until cid, he was towing his sword again lol

lyssa

Guud

Daniel Borrego
>>108911682

i made the point on lee's channel that cid was kinda a dick to her beating her like that in the tournament, but then someone reminded me that she let him be tortured for 5 days and even the bad guy was like, ya he has nothing to do with this. so ya, she kinda deserved it.

Cleven Anthony

Lmaooo play too much 😂😂😭 you know what tho I get to laugh at your pain through YouTube shorts so fair enough 😭

Javier E Morales

Are you guys gonna react to KAGE-JITSU! its the isekai cortet of Eminence in Shadow. You can watch all the episodes on KADOKAWAanime youtube channel with subtitles.

Yeah if I wanted to flex my magical powers Cid's way is how I'd think of doing it 😂. Great reaction guys!

Is Hitman reborn really good? I just went in checked and saw that it has 200+episodes, I wanna know if it’s actually worth the time

KeYo

that was a good season. i personally enjoyed how op he was buuuuut i do like the idea that lupa had the concept of a kick ass but its anime. i kinda didnt like the story tbh i was just meh.....i was just waiting until cid turnt up lol

Jacob The weird

They should really watch Dead Mount Death Play. It’s a really good “isekai” out this season

Jayden Holder

Good show good reaction, wonder what's next

Shadow Garden

I told you guys the SHEERARINNESHARINGAN isn’t gonna work😂

Drake Rage

Okay yeah, I got pissed at Cid this episode. The anime had a lot of epic moments and a cool story, but what happened to Rose while Cid being a clown playing a piano.. like what was the show trying to convey with that ending? All the Shadow Garden girls going through hell, casting everything away and becoming new people, but Cid literally knows nothing and thinks they all just playing a game, that was not funny man. I think it was a dumb way to end the season and idk what the plot is, the girls doing all that stuff while Cid just clowns around the entire time?

blue snivy

its bs type of story and thats the point so yeh

Zed

I want Akame Ga Kill!

Alex Campbell

If you look at the first episode this is where it ends rose is even a garden member at that time and it’s shown

SK8 GEEK

Yall didnt even notice that Shadow blew away all the whether. That city was raining and Thundering. and when he reverse nuked he blew away all them clouds

Nelo_Lobo

I know this won’t be seen, but X’amd: Lost Memories simply for the intro lol

L.C.

The mid slayer comparisons was cringe

L.C.

Sheera thinks of the most random outlandish things when the series shows something so simple

L.C.

I don't know who overhyped the hell out of this series to you guys but its a good switch up from the typical main character which is why I think some select people hate the show. It isn't the typical "show off my abilities" type of MC. I like the series a lot so far and hopefully it keeps it up. If anyone wants some reactors that like the series more go check out yaboyrocklee they are way more in tune with the series and can keep up with stuff. They aren't gonna look into things way too hard and think something means something completely different all the time.

danial javady

this series is meant to be a parody im pretty sure. The same way you judge one punch man or konosuba is the same way you should judge eminence in shadow. It is brain dead, by design. It's intentionally made to be brain dead. It's mocking common, over used tropes in anime. So if you're intentionally looking for serious depth to hte story and have your brain preparing for it, i think it will ruin the immersion. Sometimes, there is serious plot/depth too, which makes it even harder to differentiate between parody and seriousness. You don't know what to take seriously and what not to. But watching this with that in mind for me made it much more enjoyable. The first time i tried to watch this alone, it was insufferable for the same reasons you listed.

Infinity

Sheera brain never gonna wrap itself around figuring out Cid lmao. Mans got a whole army of 666 slime juiced women living in a secret capital city in the mists that he don't even know about. I guess I get what you said at the end but it doesn't really make sense lmao. There is a pretty well thought out decent story here and you're supposed to piece it together with what goes on in the background but for some reason yall just keep clapping yourselves getting hung up on random shit. Season 2 is probably gonna be more your thing it's definitely lot more focused on one particular story.

beni-chan

DAMN HE TROLLED THE FUCK OUT OF US

damnjerick

koruko no basket 🙏

TAC Genesis

I read an article that said season 2 is later this year. They gonna pump this sucker out like Danmachi lol. And surprisingly I thought there would be more "anime suggestions" in the comments

TAC Genesis
>>108909780

Drifters was absolute fire, soundtrack and animation were PEAK the whole way through. Damn hard to find tho

Mari
>>108920474

People have been recommending this for years and it still hasn’t been on a poll before 😭

Stiffs

That quick step is the best ever hands down lol Scene, sound and execution. Sheera crazy for even thinking otherwise Lmao

Yisus

I’m so glad Lupa saw that shadow ripped off Light Yagami’s laugh lol I would honestly not be surprised if Cid saw death note in his original world and wanted to imitate Light revealing he’s Kira. Also I’m ngl I would also do some of the things Cid does, but the difference is that I wouldn’t be the background character but would make a bunch of aliases to go under and make them all living legends.

Yisus
>>108915307

The plot is Cid just doing random BS that somehow connects to this world wide evil illuminati like cult/organization and he unintentionally stops them from ruling the world. And all of shadow garden just think Cid is this 10k IQ mastermind while this mf is just living his life of being this mysterious character. Cid’s actual goal was to show up in random battlefields with Alpha, say “fools! You are just puppets!” And slaughter everyone, but Alpha made this massive organization that is actually fighting against the Cult of Diabolos which was Cid just making up a story with the clues that were actually everywhere such as the children’s books and legends and stuff that he read as a kid.

Drake Rage
>>108915307

Yes I get that, but Cid is the main character, so when he is being a complete clown while the girls go through a lot of horrible stuff, it makes Cid's antics stop being funny, Comedy was the biggest part of this show, but Cid being unaware about what the girls are going through makes the show not really that funny anymore, and it makes Cid more of an unlikable main character, because he is too big of a clown.

Yisus
>>108915307

Yeah but the thing is the girls just assume Cid knows what they are going through, but he doesn’t. It’s not really his fault Alpha took his bs story seriously and that it actually turned out to be true. Cid’s character has always been “if it looks cool, do it!”, that’s the thing. You either love him or hate him for that, I personally like his character for the sole reason that he’s a clown just doing whatever he wants. You hate him for that exact reason, it’s all about perspective. Like I said before, Cid’s whole plan was for him and Alpha to kill people while claiming that they are the ones who know the full story and everyone else are just sheep following the “evil organization”. Go back and watch the first few episodes, the reason Alpha is there is because Cid just wanted to do experiments on a random blob he found and accidentally cured Alpha. After that he made up a story basing it off of a children’s fairy tale and Alpha bought it and started to look for more recruits, she was the one picking up girls left and right and Cid just cured them because he could.

Drake Rage
>>108915307

I remember the story bro, Cid is still the leader of the organization, they want to make it feel like its funny that Cid is so clueless, but its not because they gave the girls storylines that are too tragic to find Cid being clueless funny. I am not even talking from Cid's persepective and whether it is reasonable, I am saying the show's writers did not think this through, the ending of the season finale kind of wrecks the whole show, because it is not funny anymore, Cid is just a hollow (but strong) clown to point and laugh at.. or roll your eyes at, or get frustrated by.. that is not a good type of main character to have.

KarlWittaC

I love this show. Cid is literally just OP Mr. Magoo. Also, if you think about it, One Punch Man story also unfolds around him and he also has no idea what's going on.

XORT GAMING

check this movie is in my top 3 best anime movies Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms

jimmy nuetron

Kuroko no basket please and slime movie!!!

>>108915307

Just don’t watch the second season then. Not everyone is going to like the same things, or be able to understand what a show is about.

Jazzy Jinx
>>108915307

Speak for yourself, he's in my Top 5. Cid is the driving force of the whole story. His goofiness and clown shoes is what makes the show so entertaining. The girls are very happy with Cid. He saved their lives, trained them in swordplay and magic, gave them the slime bodysuits, gave them all the knowledge they needed to become rich and famous and gave them a purpose after being abandoned by everyone they used to love (although he's dicking around but that purpose turns out to be legit). If he would have just saved them and then said "Aight, peace", they STILL would have been abandoned by their families and probably hunted down the rest of their lives. And now they even treat each other like family. Shadow Garden is basically one huge sisterhood. As for Rose, she made her choice. Multiple times. She took Shadow's power, she killed her father herself, she decided to join Shadow Garden herself. Cid doesn't need to hold her hand and baby her. She's going through it right now but there isn't a single member in Shadow Garden that looks miserable. It'll turn around. It's called character development.

N1ckv3n

slime movie

Nonkin

Cid is if “all according to keikaku” was a person, Alpha and Shadow Garden are “if this is a plan, this is how it makes sense” in direct response to him. It helps that he doesn’t constantly undercut “the plan” by doing something offscript and confusing SG. Effectively, where Cid knows ‘nothing,’ SG knows about as close to ‘everything’ as anyone in this story can.

Drake Rage
>>108915307

There is a whole range between hand-holding and being completely oblivious to their struggle/hard-work when they become part of Shadow Garden. Extremes are bad on both side, hand holding is an extreme, but so is being completely oblivious to what the girls are going through when becoming a part of his organization. It does make me feel a little better that Rose will eventually feel better when she finishes her training, but the way they ended this season was bad. I asked the question in my original comment, what was the show trying to convey with that ending? It was like they were asking for us to dislike him, lmao. Why did they show a heartbreaking scene with Rose, then switch to Cid's clown ass to end the season? Was that supposed to be funny? I am probably being too serious, why I didn't find it funny, but Rose having to kill her Dad and losing everything other than Cid's McDonald's wrapper, and then even that getting shredded and blown to the wind and her breaking down like that, it was too much for me to then go back to Cid being a clown as usual.

AkuBeta

Cid/Shadow: It's just a prank bro

Nish

Yo since you finished this just letting you know Golden Kamuy started back up and the 7th episode of the season is out already

john
>>108920227

i think cid knows about capital city he defeated the dragon their and became ruler of the forest. then they made it into base.

Sauce Sorcerer
>>108915307

I think you're forgetting that Cid is almost always directly involved with their operations, so while he may just be messing around in his mind, he is still putting in work. The girls aren't just doing all the labor, Cid is cleaning up other matters as well.

Drake Rage
>>108915307

My only issue is with Cid thinking its all a game, he thinks the girls are just playing along with him with this "Shadow Garden" stuff, while the girls are actually going through all that and are completely devoted to him and their cause.

Jazzy Jinx
>>108915307

FWIW, him thinking it's a game and being a selfish psychopath is a karmatic backlash against him. The girls ALWAYS reap all the benefits while he's left with nothing. So they are rewarded for their seriousness and dedication. For instance, the City of Alexandria. This mf Cid has an ENTIRE CITY and... he doesn't know about it. He has a massive statue in his honor! And... he doesn't know about it. But the girls reap the benefit of having that city. All of Mitsugoshi's money is HIS. But he doesn't know about it. Instead he's barking like a dog and scrapping coins off the floor being Alexia's plaything. Cid isn't rewarded at all for his selfishness, it's the opposite. The girls always reap all of the rewards. It's a common theme that you'll see continue in this story.

JO.10473_
>>108915307

Cid not only does all of this cause he wants to be cool. He does it because he actually believes he is just and doing what he believes is right. He just needs to look cool while doing it. He cares about the girls especially the main ones like Alpha, Beta, etc. Even when he was a normal human, he truly believed in the vigilante life style and bringing unknown crimes to light. Sure he exaggerates everything, but he's always stood against injustices. Whenever he runs into these evil people doing evil shit, sure it's just a coincidence, but his mentality is still justice above all. He never thinks it's a game, he just be surprised when the girls believe the shit he be making up and he also gotta keep up the appearance of an all knowing leader.

HarveyD

Just to point out, the guy at the train station wasn't Cid's friend, it was Golden Gildy carrying his sword around on its little stand. Also, the couple fighting in the mountain town was Cid's actual parents.

Eric Keatts

I only just noticed watching along with their reaction, I think Rose's name gets replaced in the credits with 666 lol

Skebaba

Therianthropes are beastppl (so think of Delta & Zeta)

Gran_Air

You put it really well as to why some people might not enjoy this show as much as others.

Emiliano Ruiz Chong

Basically, Cid is a combat god and a master of disguise. Anything else, he is completely goofy and clueless.

Did you never see the comments in the Polls this is all ppl would ever spam. Also you can't really blame them for looking into things way too hard they watch a ton of Anime throughout the yeah and even when Cid was doing goofy shit there was always way more important shut going on in the background.

Kyle

The funniest thing is there were comments from episode one and on every other episode that said “guys don’t take this show seriously it will ruin your experience” you guys on episode 20 “we took the whole show serious and it didn’t hit as hard as y’all hyped it up” well duh

MARK BRADSHAW

They put out an app game and one part of it covers the time gap of alpha and the rest leaves Cid. it shows of how they got more members, their base as well how they got their name across to gather information

John Endaya

Mirror Guy = DIO Perv Asshat = Vanilla Ice Eminence in Shadow with a literal Jojo reference

Hopefully Danmachi would be taking it's chances tho great anime got too dark the deeper you get into the story 😂 shit was crazy 😂

Cid is full trope of OPM character in this world. We just follow this idiot doing his chuunibuyo settings and at the same time all the bullshit he spouts somehow is happening around him while his girl army handles stuff around him.

The city of Townsville... IS BEING SHREDDED APART!!

Dead Mount Death Play check it out it is different like it a new take on this kind of anime

I think the last atomic we see him using here is him blasting the sky. Thats why the rain stopped (thats my assumption at least)

>>108913937

they be making sex jokes all the time, but this at this reaction they will keep quite im sure lol

Oisif

Honestly, this was everything I wanted from Overlord. They had the same initial concept of the MC being a dumbass with extremely competent underlings that looks up to the MC like a God. And everything they did unknowingly ended up pushing the story forward. But Overlord shifts towards being more serious with some comedic elements sprinkled on top, while eminence in shadow did the oppisite, more comedy with serious story sprinkled on top. And that's exactly what I wanted. I ended up remembering overlord not for the interesting kingdoms and their story, but because of the hell goat CG and lizard mating, while I remember shadow for the onsen and coin scene

Mavereth

Anybody knows where to watch first half of season 1 of fire force?? It’s not on patreon

Shows kinda like a parody for all isekai and how isekai' storylines end up being lol. The show was alright tho ig... 5.5/10 for me. Ima still watch yalls reaction to S2 when it comes out though 😂😂

Kuroko no basket is goated show you three would enjoy it a lot

BornUnMotivated

it's a fun watch but people were overhyping it way too much

Henrik Eik

I will argue with all my homies and GF about this show. I love OP MC's it's fun and sometimes braindead entertainment but I will die on the hill and agree with Lupa about the first episode. They dropped the ball on just building that story and character up to only have truck-kun just flip the script. Would love to have some that that first episode story n run with it. PTSD heroine dealing with trauma while dealing with home pressures n school all the while we got kickass/home grown batman tryna do his own thing. Would much more enjoy that over OP Mc which we've seen a lot now

By the way people were hyping it up, you would think it was the anime of the decade. Instead it was a mid show with bland characters and a cringe MC

Exactly! I would have wanted a show about a teen vigilante that went out at night and beat up bad guys. Instead we got isekai with OP protag #134657

StonedOtaku

Ya so he has an army of almost 700 hot woman 😂😂

One thing I didn't like that they did differently in the anime is that in the Manga/Light Novel Iris asks Shadow why he doesn't just kill her and Beatrix, and he makes it explicitly clear "I only kill my enemies. You've lost sight of who your real enemies are" which leads to Iris doubting Perv Asshat and The Church even more. With the way they ended it here they're gonna have to do a lot more legwork in the future to make Iris still being a potential ally make sense.

JG

Iris is just frustrated. Always pampered from a young age, always told she's a prodigy and the strongest. Now shadow throws in her face just how powerless she truly is. Yet while iris lost all her convication in life at that moment, alexia gained hers. She knew death was immenent, she saw the magic, but even then she claimed she'd walk down the same path if she were reborn. I find it a cool comparison between the 2 anyway. One who had everything lost it all, and the one who had nothing (was always overshadowed) gained everything in that moment. Sid may be full of jokes but the entire story/characters around it are quite serious at the same time which makes the show so appealing imo

With them doing Mashle at the same time, I think it did the OP MC trope better. Mash and Cid are both kind of oblivious to the events happening around them, but Mash's goofiness played better for me than Cid being so lame/cringe. I've laughed way more at Mash's deadpan, creampuff loving slapstick than at Cid living out his fanfiction. I agree that the "staying in the real world" plot line could have been pretty interesting. More crowbar action!

KiliSloe

Imo She's not exactly pampered. Though Iris was a prodigy, she was heavily restricted and had to prove herself. She hates feeling helpless. She refuses to admit her powerlessness in specific situations. even if it was clearly shown she was powerless in those situations. Iris, she'll most likely get over it and become stronger. Iris lost everything she worked to Achieve while her sister finally found her path.

this show is solid 8 for me. i enjoyed Cid character more than the story and how stupid he is

It wasn't meant to be the next chainsaw man, these are two fundamentally different shows, you wouldn't compare Konosuba with Jujutsu Kaisen.

Johnathan Shelton

Did Anyone notice the Credits changed Rose's name to 666 too? Thats wild

Killah_ Raze

roshi truly doesn't understand anything about this anime it's simple but hard for him to understand lol - cid at the end was talking about his piano play not the plot he knew everything going because he is a shadow just like an assassin staying away from the public he is that person the top assassin in his own league and that alpha is second in command that's why she leads not him next season may have enough details of their endeavours

May DeViL Cry

Lupa got his wish in S2....Merry Christmas!!! Ho Ho Ho!!😂

Dud3 itsj3ff

Idk if yall caught it, but when Cid did the "I AM A-" thing it was dark.... bro literally turned it from the middle of the night raining and lighting to 12PM with clear skies instead of blowing everything up.

Sheeras insane overestimation of every female character every baffles me
