Nice wrap on Cour 1, definitely a highlight of the season!

wavyesper

Greatness will continue 😁😁😆😆

AttackRunRepeat

I'm so excited for the second cour. This anime came out of nowhere and has become one of my favorites.

Devin B

I can't wait to see what antics they get up to in the second cour

Cami

luckily cour 2 starts January 6 so we won't have to wait long at all!!!

DANIEL PEREZ

at least they just fired and compensated the people not directly involved. also mao mao knows who jinshi is he is way above her in the pecking order its like a peasant can't just ask the emperor to do something just cause the peasant asks.. though yeah mao suck as explaining personal things. she could have also used the pins from him or lady Lihua so keep her job. good thing next cour is coming

Ash

Apothecary Diaries is a huge W. Excited to see the second half

poisonivybag

To clarify (no spoilers), Maomao is not related to Fengming's family. The people who kidnapped/sold her have connections to Fengming's family and the "merchant family" was what Maomao was listed under. So she got fired because of the business connections her kidnappers had, not because her and Fengming are related.

Kingmakaii

Bro came back with a trunk of gold like yeah her run her plz I want her 😭

Jamaal Ellison

Luckily the family only got fired, and that they didn't decide to just execute whole 3 generations of her family. Because this type shit happened in China.

Earphone Jack

Jinshi is down tremendous for MaoMao lol. Can’t wait for the second cour!

Eehk

You guys might be interested to check out ‘zuzhu’, which is a kin punishment I think they might be referencing to

Kisuke01

I'm sorry but a strange plant GROWING OUT OF WHAT 🤢

Nixbe3

It’s probably Cordyceps, a type of fungus which grows inside caterpillars, slowly replacing their tissue with their own :D Was very popular in ancient Chinese medicine

Kisuke01

Learn something new everyday

Jaelyn Mcgee

yup those are cordyceps. They're are the same funguses that are essential to the plot of the last of us and known for infecting and basically zombifying ants

Alex cleveland

This anime is def up there wit JJK and Frieren for me!

Andrew Patterson

I feel the same. Frieren, AOT, JJK, and this have been my favorite animes to come out this anime season

Hello

I was literally thinking the exact same thing. Bro fell hard.

NovaVortex

Imma need this studio to finish shopping for the rawest of ingredients, get back in the kitchen, and get to cookin' this show again ASAP!!

Imani Brooks

Great reaction, but anybody else notice the subtitles were wrong? It's like an unofficial translation like last season MHA's reactions were or something.

Aaron Griffin

Their editor loves to screw with the subtitles. Sometimes it's hilarious.

The Zany Spirit

I don't think the editor ever touches the videos they upload on Patreon. They only edit the Youtube videos. It might just be because the video they show on the top right usually don't match up with the versions they actually watch. The ones on the top right are usually from pirated sites just for us the viewer to see (You can see this most of the times as a very faded, very tiny watermark in the bottom-right corner of the top-right video. The watermark is that of an anime pirating website. You can see it on this episode too.), while they usually use official streaming sites to watch anime, and they react to the subtitles on whatever official streaming site they actually watch the show on rather than the unofficial subtitles we see as represented by the top-right video. Might be a legal reason why they have to do it like this. Or maybe it's because streaming sites won't let you download the video and only pirated sites let you download the video. Giving them the only option of showing us the unofficial version they downloaded and embedded into their Youtube/Patreon video for us the audience to view. Anyways, maybe I'm just misunderstanding the OP or missing something.

Imani Brooks

I always figured they were watching the official ones, but the video didn't match. It was pretty frustrating.

Nomadic

Alternative title, slavery gone right.

Sheera one is bread and the other is bred.
