Maybe this is too specific, but my persistent pelvic pain is a real drag on my libido. Seeing as how I'm approaching my mid-50s, it's already lower to begin with. But I'm not ready to be done yet! But I'm single, and the pain makes me not even want to seek out a partner. How can I still feel sexy and desirable while dealing with the pain?

Eric Hegeman

Everything you suggested Dr Susie.

🙁

You cover the field pretty well, just need to decide how to detail it. You gave me a major assist in being able to accept touch in pelvic therapy and feel less violated. Maybe more guests with either additional information or on subjects you don't normally cover? Maybe some personal stories/experience from your or other PFTs' clients (us) on resolving issues and where those experiences led. And maybe sex from different viewpoints. There are the obvious ones like the invitation to a threesome J claims she turned down (🤔), but I would like just cuddling in a coital position rather than the wild scramble to reach some goal. Does anyone else find the race to a goal distracting?

Thanks for sharing this with us, Rob. There’s a lot I could say, but too much for a comment. Reconnecting with any kind of pleasure or body-based touch can help shift the pain sensitivity dial. Mapping out what feels good or neutral to touch is a great place to start. And I know this part’s tough, but try not to let the pain stop you from doing things you care about—social connection, dating, or picking up old hobbies can help reduce the brain’s protection response and ease pain over time.

I appreciate your suggestions, Guy. I personally find the race to a goal very distracting during sex. Goals suck the fun out of sex. For me, I want to feel connected and relaxed. 😌

Guy

Absolutely. Unfortunately, I don't think any of my partners understood that. I can have multiple orgasms so they, including J, probably thought I needed to go there. In turn I was playing to what I thought they needed. I really wish I'd understood this.

I'm interested in urinary and sexual health, being able to maintain and improve my functions.

Bamboo

The "open to anything" QandA sessions are very good.

Jeffery Jones

We had a couple of sessions and thing seem to be working better. I'm staying away from certain drinks, doing pelvic flow exercises, pumping, and taking daily low dose tadalafil which has significantly improved my flow and erections, post 7 yrs brachytherapy. I'm interested in anything else I can do.

Dr Susie I would like to see live models demonstrate the use of the various sex toys on the market

Dr. Susie Gronski - Doctor of Physical Therapy

Hey, Malcolm — I appreciate that you’re curious and engaged. Just to clarify, the live model demonstrations here are specifically for pelvic health and medically-focused education. I’m not able to offer demos of sex toys that fall outside that purpose.
