Well… the timer idea totally went out the window. As an educator, I just couldn’t help myself. I meant to keep this Q&A tight, but when the questions are this good, boundaries get blurry. All in the name of learning, right?

In this one, I’m answering your questions on post-prostatectomy and post-radiation pelvic floor care, what causes urge incontinence, prostate orgasms, and stem cell treatments. Thanks for trusting me with these thoughtful topics.

Let me know what came up for you after watching—I’m here for the follow-up questions too.

Not sure where to post this question but was wondering if you’ll be to go over penile stretching techniques for bad penis curvature forming to P disease? I’ve been told by urologist that certain massages or stretches can help unbend the the awkward bend forming. Any chance we can get a live demo on a real person on ways to fix this?

Dr. Susie this was a great O&A session. Very informative. You asked if we should continue to do these sessions and the answer is YES ABSOLUTELY!!!

The delay in side effects is one of the reasons I opted for beam radiation for my run with prostate cancer. After discussion with other men who've done surgery, HIFU, beam radiation, etc., I believe it was a good decision. I'm 5 years out from treatment now and so far have no side effects. Hopefully results of the upcoming cystoscopy will be another good sign. With surgery there is an immediate burden that may or may not resolve. Urologists are not very honest with patients about this. With radiation there may or may not be side effects a few years down the line. I decided that at my age I'd rather be assured a few good years rather than wondering whether I'll recover from surgery. Dr. Mark Scholz of the Prostate Cancer Research Institute mentions 2 years, but I've since seen comments that are not comforting. I've put further reads of pubmed.gov on the schedule.

Interesting that you mentioned rubbery with hard flaccid-that's exactly how I feel. My therapist working scar tissue (not perineum/rectal) has cut erections down by session end-they go limp, spongy, relaxed, not pulling or rubbery. But air on skin when I undress pops me right up when getting on the table.
