As the year winds down, it’s a great moment to look back at what actually made your body feel good. Not the goals you thought you should hit, but the small, honest moments of yes-that-felt-nice.

A pleasure journal isn’t about tracking performance. It’s about noticing your body’s stories, the ones that get drowned out when life is loud. Pain science reminds us that paying attention to your lived experience can shift how your nervous system processes sensation. In other words, tuning in helps your body trust that it’s safe to soften and enjoy.

Here’s a simple year-end ritual to try:

Name three things that brought your body pleasure this year. Could be a type of touch, a fantasy, a slow morning stretch, a juicy conversation.

Note what helped you feel relaxed or connected. Maybe it was breathwork, a partner’s presence, or giving yourself permission to slow down.

Write one curiosity for next year. Not a resolution. A curiosity. Something you’d like to explore without pressure.

Keep it short. Keep it real. Let your journal be a judgment-free zone where pleasure is allowed to take up space.

Your body has been carrying you all year. This is a chance to listen to it with care and maybe a little delight ❤️

Love this. Short, simple, and to the point I especially like the idea of identifying a curiosity for the upcoming year. It’s a great way to start a new fantasy or identity unnamed desire
