Sex with an ostomy can bring up a lot. Body image, fear of leaks, worry about how a partner will react. It makes sense if it feels vulnerable or even a little intimidating.

But having a stoma doesn’t mean your sex life is over.

In this video, I walk you through how to approach intimacy with more confidence and less guesswork. We talk about how to bring it up with a partner without shrinking yourself, simple ways to feel more secure with your pouch, and positions that reduce pressure so you can actually stay present in the moment.

I also share a bit about why this topic matters to me personally. Supporting a close friend through her ostomy experience opened my eyes to how much honesty, reassurance, and real conversation we need around bodies that don’t fit the “norm.”

A few takeaways:

You don’t need to apologize for your body

You get to go at your own pace

Comfort and connection matter more than “getting it perfect”

And sex doesn’t have to mean penetration. Pleasure is a lot bigger than that.

If this is something you’re navigating, you’re not alone in it. And you’re not broken.

There are ways to feel safe, supported, and even confident in your body again.
