It was a bit of a long shot, but we made it work… sorta! 😄

To get the best view of the erectile tissues, you ideally need a linear ultrasound probe. I've got a convex transducer, which is fantastic for imaging the pelvic floor muscles and pelvic organs, but not ideal for viewing structures like erectile tissue. Even so, we were able to capture some pretty neat images!

To maximize what we could see, our model self-administered Trimix beforehand so the erectile tissues were engorged during the scan. A huge thank you to our amazing model for generously sharing his most sensitive parts… all in the name of science, of course. 😉

Thanks Dr Susie, thinking outside the box as usual.

Seeing an ultrasound of erectile tissue, gives a new picture to see a wider view, thanks!

Well that's a cool visual, always learning something here. So the tunica albuginea was it, traps the blood in the erectile tissue right? Is there a way to relax that during unwanted erections, as always great info and great live models. Thanks Doc.

Is that what us damaged and what makes the “popping” sound during a penile fracture?
