She stood there alone on a balcony high above the night draped urban streets. Dark blue hair blowing in the somber wind, her back was illuminated by the golden lights of the business party behind her. Festivities, idle chatter, and the murmurs of future deals and ambitions all faded into the background, muffled by a simple glass door and curtain. The starry night and quiet streets filled the maid with some much deserved calmness after a hectic night of attending to the Kitagawa family’s guests. Leaning forward with her arms resting against the guard rail, she took a break from staring at the endless cityscape in front of her and starry sky above to close her eyes. Buried deep in her thoughts, she wondered about how much her life had been changed by Rin and the rest of her family. Chuckling to herself as the good memories flew past, she reached for her pocket only to stop her hand mid way.
“Not like there’d be anything there…” She murmured, sighing into the cold wind. As the warm breath escaped from her lips and condensed into a misty vapor in the air, it reminded her of the time in her life that she regretted the most. Momentarily saddened by that reminder, she was quickly snapped out of it by an unmistakeable tap on her shoe. It was him; the boy who had changed her life the most.
Kneeling down, she scooped the tiny boy into her warm hands and stepped away from the balcony. Sitting down in one of the luxurious outdoor seating arrangements, she held him close to her as she rested her hand against her lap.
“You know it’s not safe for you to be outside in this weather, Master Rentaro.” She said, using her body heat to warm him up a little.
“I was just worried about…” He sighed, cozying up next to one of her fingers. “It’s very… awkward being in that kind of space without you, ya know. While I don’t mind the other attendants, I’d much rather be with someone who understands me like you do.” Reclining back in her hand, he stared up at both her and the picturesque night sky. Tsukikage was at a loss for words. Hiding the already subtle blush on her face, she almost regretted not teaching him to be more mindful about his speech… almost.
“I’m sorry. I’ll be sure to be more considerate from now on.” She bowed, chuckling to herself on the inside. Her words seemed even colder than the winter air, and yet, this was her favorite way of getting her young master flustered.
“A-Ah! You don’t have to apologize! I don’t want to make it seem like you’re not allowed to take breaks i-it’s just that—” Frivolously trying to explain himself, Tsukikage could only find amusement within his many apologies. Rentaro had truly changed over past couple of years. The him from back when she was first assigned as a temporary housekeeper was almost unrecognizeable. And while this change was undoubtedly a good one, she couldn’t help but feel guilty about it…
“W-What I’m trying to say is… I love you.” Warm as a summer day, his words and the kind smile on his face snapped her out of her depressing thoughts once more. And while Tsukikage was quick to understand what he was truly trying to convey, it was still just as surprising. “You mean so much more to me, Rei, and Mom than you could possibly ever know. I don’t think I’d ever want to imagine the person I’d be today if you hadn’t—”
Placing her finger gently against his body to stop him from talking, a smile formed on her normally expressionless face. She had no idea how long she’d be able to keep her composure if she allowed him to continue talking. She didn’t feel like she deserved any of his gratitude, however. The Kitagawa was everything to her. The kindness she was shown upon entering into their service was so grand that she believed it be something she’d never be able to repay no matter what she did. Hearing the same gratitude from anyone else always made her feel guilty, but coming out of Rentaro’s mouth it was different. For that singular moment, upon seeing that smile on his face, she felt had repaid a fraction of the insurmountable debt that she owed to the Kitagawas.
“Thank you…” Tsukikage murmured, before placing him on the table in front of her. She didn’t plan on staying on the balcony for this long, but with Rentaro there, she felt as if she could drop her guard and stay there all night. This wasn’t too hard for someone normal-sized like her, but looking at Rentaro, she remembered that his size didn’t really mesh with the cold. It was also then that she remembered a way to kill two birds with one stone.
“W-We should probably head back in. Rei and Mom might start worrying.” He said, trying to hide his discomfort while clutching his scarf. Considerate to a fault. Tsukikage was starting to forget who was the maid and who was the master, especially considering what she was about to do.
“I must apologize, but would you mind if we stayed out here for a little while longer. My feet are still aching from standing all night.” Reaching down towards her shoes, she kept her eyes trained on every one of Rentaro’s little reactions. As soon as she said those first two words, he instantly became flustered. All Rentaro could do was stammer nervously as she removed both her shoes and slowly brought them up onto the table.
Condensating off her warm tights, her sweat quickly turned into somewhat visible clouds of steam around the tiny boy. Wiggling her toes and flexing her soles, Tsukikage thought he’d be able to get the hint by now, but it seemed like Rentaro was either too scared or too polite to go through with the desires that were undoubtedly flooding his mind at that moment. Both impressed and amused by his self control, Tsukikage let out a sigh of relief before reclining back in the comfortable outdoor seating.
“I know this might be rude of me to ask but would you mind—”
“Understood!!” Without sparing a single moment, Rentaro eagerly began rubbing her sweat-coated sole with as much passion and determination as he could muster. Desperately seeking the warmth of her feet to escape the frigid night air, it wasn’t long before he began pushing his whole body against her soft hard-working feet. Within seconds the relatively expensive micro suit he had worn to the party was drenched in the sweat of a hard-working maid/. Even though she almost always carried multiple spare sets of clothes for him, it was still funny how focused he was upon being near the objects of his desire.
Rentaro’s voice was almost completely muffled by her foot but feeling the vibrations against her foot, it was easy to tell how grateful he was for this opportunity. Flexing her soles, she held his tiny body tightly between the wrinkles of her soles, making sure he’d get extremely familiar with the scent she built up after howers of attending to him and the rest of the guests. Tsukikage was already used to giving him a little reward every now and then, but it still felt a little scandalous to have a member of the Kitagawa family grovel and massage her feet.
“You know you’re not supposed to be out in the cold, Bro… you’re making me and Mom worried— Eh?” Opening the balcony door, she was greeted to quite the interesting sight. This was a staff only balcony so Tsukikage wasn’t that worried about anyone notable walking in on them, but unfortunately she failed to consider Rei as a factor. Awkwardly keeping her feet on the table, she politely greeted Rei as if she wasn’t just making her brother grovel at her feet.
“You couldn’t even wait till we got home. Tch, pervert!” With a disgusted look on her face, she walked out and went back to enjoying the party with her group of friends. The embarrassment Rentaro felt at that moment was insurmountable. Burying his face in Tsukikage’s sweaty tights, he tried desperately to hide his shame.
“I deeply apologize for this misunderstanding. I will do my best to explain the situation to Miss Rei once the festivities are over…”
