This is probably my favorite trash tier isekai cuz it's got an interesting premise, quality character writing, is almost never skeevy even wrt Fran, and there's something really enjoyable about a rags to riches power fantasy story of this type.

I blame the adaptation of the source material. While not as bad as some of the current season shit (looking at you, Failure Frame), Ragna Crimson S1 ruined some of the early hype moments in the anime adaptation etc. Although I do like the OST personally anyway

Also, this is one of the few isekai out there that answers the slavery question correctly. That question being "what do you do concerning slavers?" And the answer that "Sword" gives is, "brutally murder them!"

I like this. Tbh, I thought it was a stupid premise (though not as stupid as the vending machine isekai 🤦🏿‍♂️), but it works and I really like both Shishō and Fran. Can’t wait to watch more!
