My camera has failed me

I’m scrambling to go get a new one and finish what I was recording

I used up a lot of time trying to figure out if I should upgrade or get the same model should I have a back up camera should I go to Sony all these questions

I need it by the weekend for sure.

And because my camera does not respond to the on and off button I can’t access the menu, I can’t update the firmware, can’t do a reset

I removed the battery for 30 minutes to force a reset

I’ve hit random buttons that might trigger a reset

o7 RIP camera Personally, I'd use this as an opportunity to upgrade and maybe see if the old one can be repaired so that you have a backup.

I thought so too. I have the Sony a7s iii. This model doesn’t have an upgrade until next year that I know of unless I change models altogether I already have the most recent upgrade for its type

I’ll pray for you, Lee. I tried to get into photography in the past as a hobby but as soon as I went into the store, saw the camera prices, said “Holy sh-😳”, walked right back out

Tbh this is highly unacceptable towards me, your patrons, and the universe as a whole. I'm leaving a bad review on Yelp. Good day sir

For real man. I am just glad it didn’t happen on a Saturday otherwise I would’ve lost recording time on high priority videos 🥹🥹🥹

I dunno shi about Cameras, but as they say if it aint broke no need to fix it (granted this one is broken). You could also do one upgrade as your main and get the same cam as your backup (if this is cheaper now and finances allow)

You can also check to see if there's a more specialized camera that focuses on recordings thats on the same price range. Those DSLR thingies? Im just spouting things here and have no idea of their prices so ignore if this sounds too ignorant

Oh no! Did it hear you looking at cameras for Black Friday? It happens to my tech all the time the moment they hear me looking at replacements they start acting or breaking

The A7 series is pretty much the best of the best anyways. (for what you use it for) Even if no immediate upgrade is available, getting a new one would probably be your best bet. Then trying to have the old one repaired for back-up reasons lol
