Y’all don’t remember the zanpakuto rebellion arc? We’ve seen her before. Matsumotos sword fine af too

SpartanManJDOGG

We seen everyone’s zanpakuto spirit in a filler arc. So if anybody watched that then this would be the second time you seen Shunsui’s.

The Game Shunsui is playing at the start called "Daruma-san ga Koronda" is basically red-light green-light - Lille Barro's ability of "Intangibility" was hinted at when he fought Oetsu, If you recall Oetsu at one point attempted to slash him yet the blade went through. [As an aside, the battle between the 0 Squad and the Schutzstaffel gave at least 1 hint at each member's ability, so for those interested you can go back and watch that battle and see how they did it - Many fans have mixed feelings on Lille's Volstanding look, however, I think it's very fitting when you understand what Kubo is going for. Quincy obviously have biblical influence, Lille upon his transformation gains 4 pairs of wings, meaning in regards to the bible he'd be a Seraphim (Angels with 8 Wings) [Seraphim angels are primarily responsible for constantly praising and worshipping God, specifically by repeatedly proclaiming "Holy, Holy, Holy" while circling around the throne of God, signifying their intense devotion to God's holiness; their main function is to glorify God through their unceasing worship and remind others of God's sacred nature.] We finally see why Shunsui couldn't use his Bankai when he fought Starrk. Those within the area would have been pulled into it and it would have killed several of his allies. I feel it's a very fitting Bankai in that it somewhat mimics the dangerous aspects of Yama's who also couldn't use his Bankai however he pleased. (Some lines are removed that better express what Shunsui Bankai feels like, it seemingly instills negative emotions conjuring a sense of darkness, dread, and despair. It's chilling and makes even the most stubborn characters uncomfortable) - Shunsui's Bankai is a Play (A Kabuki Play to be specific) with the opponent being a performer and it's composed of 3 Acts. A play can't go on without its performer, therein if the enemy dies during an act, the Bankai will of course end immediately (fans likely questioned this because the title of the chapter covering his Bankai was labeled "The Theatre Suicide") There is a lot of context revolving around the Play that Shunsui's Bankai evokes but it would make this comment too long so l opted to cut it. - Anime fans who watched the Zanpaktou Rebellion Filler actually got the opportunity to see Shunsui's Zanpaktou Spirit a long time ago, but it's good to see it in canon. Shunsui's personality often switches swiftly between playful to serious. I believe his Shikai and Bankai represent this well. His Shikai forces people to "Play" children's games, while his Bankai forces you to take part in a Kabuki "Play". (I feel Shunsui as a character somewhat embodies this, human life is a play, a play in which we are often forced to act, forced to face conflicts no matter what we wish. We'd love to have life be more relaxed and unserious like games, but we know that when the games are done we have to return to reality.) - Sidenote: Nanao being able to keep up with Shunsui's Shunpo without getting tired is a nod to the Soul Society arc when the opposite occurred. - Sidenote 2: Just a reminder cause l've seen some confused comments in other reactions, but Shunsui can in fact (albeit not intentionally) enact several games at once during Shikai - Sidenote 3: Reikaku are the senses used to detect Reiatsu - Sidenote 4: Kabuki plays are about historical events and moral conflict in relationships of the heart.

Katen Kyōkotsu: Karamatsu Shinjū (Bones of Heavenly Blooming Madness: Withering Pine Lovers' Suicide) Shunsui changes his opponent's perception of the battlefield, making them feel depressed Ichidanme act 1: Tameraikizu no Wakachiai, any wound inflicted on the other combatant is also dealt to the attacker Nidanme act 2: Zanki no Shitone, black spots appear on the opponent's body as they bleed from them Sandanme act 3: Dangyo no Fuchi, both Shunsui and his opponent get submerged in water until one of them runs out of Reiatsu and drowns Shime no Dan Final Act: Itokiribasami Chizome no Nodobue, Shunsui sheathes his swords and a white thread wraps around his opponent's neck and blows it up Shunsui also tells a story with his Bankai: A man suffers from similar wounds to his partner but cannot die (Ichidanme: Tameraikizu no Wakachiai), the man feels ill from the shame of hurting his partner (Nidanme: Zanki no Shitone), the man and his partner hurl themselves into the water (Sandanme: Dangyo no Fuchi), and finally the man's partner cuts his throat despite his protests (Shime no Dan: Itokiribasami Chizome no Nodobue)

I feel like zabimaru was thick as well, just a bit fuzzy

Lee if you're into the girls that are also swords, I recommend you check out "The Cursed Sword Master’s Harem Life", pretty sure it's not licensed in english but you can still find it translated and it's peak

makes sense for him to be a Seraphim and with his weird design he probably drew inspiration from the accurate type of angel and not the popularized one.

Yh some divine entities would look freaky in real life like the cherubim just based on how they're described

John Romero

To Adorkable's point about Mayuri's new bankai in the opening, it isn't that he thought in advance that he would need to make a baby with its nerves on the outside. The bankai can make a baby with any manner of effects/conditions based on the data Mayuri has on his opponent. That's why it was important for him to let Kenpachi rush in and learn about Pernida's powers before the fight really started.

Well that is exactly what the captain explained the last episode verbatim. And I/we said exactly what you said in the outro of the previous video. Lol. I really just don’t like to nitpick a person’s point while they’re talking especially just sharing their excitement. You can hear me trying to correct the skin description with layers and that wasn’t really being absorbed lol. Anyways personally I know Just didn’t bother correct her on that

RENISNOTOK

You actually see her and other Z spirits in the Zanpakuto Arc lol

Zabimaru is also a girl btw, well the monkey spirit is a girl , the snake spirit is a boy . You can see most of the zanpakuto spirits is one of the filler arcs

Zabimaru design is non canon in the filler. Canonically his zanpakuto is still the male monkey snake we saw in the soul society arc. The only 4 male shinigami with female zanpakuto spirits are Shunsui, Kisuke, Kenpachi and Azashiro(character from light novel)

my bad I forgot to look if anyone else commented the same thing😅😅 Hopefully the zabimaru part at least made it a little different/interesting 😂

Since the anime didn't want to translate the names of the acts in English, here they are in case anyone is curious what he was actually saying: Act 1: Hesitance and Apportionment of Wounds Act 2: The Pillow of Shame Act 3: The Severing Abyss Act 4: Thread-Cutting Scissors upon a Blood-Streaked Throat And a small piece of trivia from a Q&A done by Kubo regarding Shunsui's bankai - if the opponent dies at any point before the final act, the bankai will automatically end because there are not enough participants to continue the play

Yeah I figured the design wasn't canon(had hope since the designes were approved as cannon). but I still thought it was female since he had asked for them to change its gender.

Of course the black character has a gun instead of a bow 😂

Man I need Ohana as my Zanpakuto. Those were some massive mommy milkers. I need her to nurse me back to health by providing that calcium rich milk to heal my bones.
