So the purpose of my drill was—after throwing a jab and a cross—to slip to the inside, roll under, and work from there. Get in, do some inside work, be ready for counters, then reset. So I’m in my second year of boxing—not a pro, and don’t plan to be. But I do care about having proper technique. I’m just sharing my journey for other enthusiasts who wanna pick up something healthy and stay motivated. The reason I spar is simple—once you get obsessed with the sport and doing things the right way, you gotta test what you’ve learned. And yeah… that lil adrenaline rush from going against someone? Kinda fire. It’s like gaming but with consequences 😅 Getting whooped ain’t fun, especially when it’s ‘cause you’re lacking the basics. Even though people say, “Just spar and you’ll learn,” I’d rather build a solid foundation before jumping in heavy. I’m not training for competition, so pacing myself feels right. I got time. If you feel this—whether you’re a beginner or just watching from the sidelines—let’s keep pushing. Growth over ego. 💪🏾
