You're actually pretty good with Ae-Sin’s name pronunciation! It’s more like "Ae-Shin," and sometimes you’ll hear people add “-ee” at the end—like “Ae-shin-ee.” That’s a more casual or affectionate way of calling her name, kind of like how you'd call out to a friend. I absolutely LOVE your reaction to this show! I’ve been waiting a couple of years hoping you guys would watch it, and it was so worth the wait. I really appreciate how much you pick up on—the little details, the characters’ motivations, and even the poetic meanings behind certain lines and scenes. It’s so fun to watch someone react so sincerely, and you can tell you’re genuinely interested and invested.

Thank you for that and yeah I noticed the name changes depending on who’s saying it they add those informal or formal last syllables. Makes it harder for me to pronounce the name but it gets easier when I recognize what they’re saying at the end so I can remove it from the original name

And from a dialogue point of view it’s probably the best K drama I’ve seen. Everyone has a counter response lol. And there’s two well said ways of looking at things hahaha. And a majority of the characters that take up screen time are intelligent even if they act naïve so it’s high quality writing

This is actually the highlight of my week. Your reactions to Mr Sunshine have been so amazing, and u guys have great insights and chemistry, and understanding of a more complex drama. It's so amazing to watch your reactions. Thanks.

When Hui-seong mentions his “ill intentions,” it ties back to how marriage worked in that era—especially among noble families. Marriages were arranged, and the bride and groom often didn’t even meet until the wedding day (sometimes not even until after the ceremony, since their faces would be covered). The groom’s family would send a formal marriage proposal letter, and once that was accepted, the marriage was essentially set. So in the scene where Ae-shin and Hui-seong meet at the hotel café, she asks if they can end the engagement and just be friends. Later, Kudo Hina tells Hui-seong that if he really wants Ae-shin, all he has to do is send that formal letter, and he’ll get her—basically forcing the marriage to happen. So when Hui-seong talks about having “ill intentions,” he means he’s tempted to go through with the formal process and claim her as his wife, even though he knows she doesn’t want that. He genuinely loves her and respects her wishes, but seeing two other men also pursuing her makes him second guess himself and consider doing something he knows isn’t right.
