Gil made the choice to toss the key aside when he was summoned instead of sealing it back in his vault, he was to arrogant to imagine anyone in this war could make use of it and he paid the price. I'm still on his side though, Ishtar was probably the only one able actually to use it and she shouldn't of been here in the first place.

In the original myth Ishtar tried to marry Gilgamesh and he called her a ho. She's been on a generational hater run ever since. Ishtar isn't even part of the holy grail war, she's literally just here to disrespect him and do him dirty

I think Gil deserved every single bit of it :) I like him but at the same time it makes me really happy to see him getting bodied and it being done by Ishtar, another arrogant character makes it even better. In the end it was his own fault for throwing away the key after he got summoned. Also "beat him in battle", in my opinion the fighting style of Gilgamesh isnt a real "battle" for me. A battle is what all the other characters are doing, Gil is just spamming his swords and in a real battle he probably wouldnt be as strong (as Alcides said "weak warrior"). Regarding why Alcides left to fight Gilgamesh. The reason is probably that his main goal was initialy to kill gods such as Gilgamesh and Gilgamesh made it sound like Alcides doesnt have much longer to live which is why he wanted to use his remaining time to go after Gil. That is at least what i think the reason is.

I'll always love Gilgamesh's legendary shit talk and aura farming but considering the full stack of powers/items he's got access to, he'd actually be way more OP if he weren't so arrogant and just tried harder. He always gets bodied when he doesn't take precautions or only uses a fraction of his powers/items when someone's not 'worthy'

You know I’m kinda impressed with the lengths Ishtar went to for revenge of being rejected she made a “echo” of herself to appear if Gil and Enkidu ever got summoned to the same war a literal curse.
