@Lee, you and Erza are so cute together. She is the perfect partner for the PoJ reaction. Some pronunciation tips: Yan Zheng (yen jung) Xie Zheng (shyeh or sheh jung) Marquis of Wuan - if you want to use the Chinese word for Marquis, it’s Hou (hoe). So you’ll hear them saying Wu’an Hou (woo-ahn hoe). And Erza is spot on. Wu’an is not his name but the name of the fief or land given to him when he was ennobled. Jiuheng - this is his courtesy name (Joe hung) Changyu - how you’re saying it is ok (Chang yoo) but for giggles, if you want to copy how the actors pronounce it, the u in yu is pronounced with an umlaut (the 2 dots on top of a vowel). Round your mouth as if you’re going to say the English word “you” but then say the long e sound “ee”. Emperor Qi Sheng (chee shung) Just remember that q is pronounced “ch”. Chancellor Wei Yan (way yahn like the sound of o in “on” )

Thank you I mainly show up to let you guys know that I’m reading your comments I’ll retain the information regarding titles and their meaning I won’t absorb the pronunciation quickly unless I study it my approaches to naturally watch the drama. Read the comments. Imitate what I hear until I get it. But it will take me a long time With Korean, I had to study a lot on my idle time to get where I am right now lol. But thank you. By the way, to put some perspective on the exams, assuming this is based off of the Ming exam period, there are 3 levels of the Imperial exams. This is the main way to gain power and wealth in society, as passing the higher levels lets you work for the government. The 1st Exam. 95% of examinees pass this exam and get stuck here forever. You would make around 50-100 taels per year as a tutor which is around $100K to $240K today. It's like upper-middle class. 2nd Exam. Only around 1100 to 1400 people passed this exam every 3 years. Passing this level let you actually hold political offices. On paper, this gave you a 45 Tael income ($90K), but realistically, because of corruption, you would probably be making closer to 600K to a $1 Million a year. Passing the 2nd exam essentially made you a rich landlord. 3rd Exam: Only 300 people pass this exam every 3 years. This is the cream of the crop and these people go straight into the highest level of government. These are the type of people who could make 2,000 to 10,000 taels per year (4 Million to 20 Million USD per year) in kickbacks. These are the ruling Elite, their version of the people who would go to Epstein's island for example. it's that level of wealth and influence, and only 300 people in all of China can pass every 3 years. For Song Yan's mother to boast that maybe her son could pass all three exams is like as if her son was going to Washington DC to work as an aide, and she was saying he could become President and the next Elon Musk.

"Zither" is the English word for the type of stringed instrument in the beginning of the OP (Erza's "horizontal harp"). More specifically, it's probably a Chinese "gu zheng" 33:13 Changyu's "pah" is her saying "I spit on you/your offer." She says "wo" = me/I + "pay" = an onomatopoeia/sound of spitting

I've watched this thing for five times. And i've never noticed the bird thing. I think you have a point. From this message it seems it's the first message the headmaster got from XIE ZHENG. But i'm pretty sure that there is no one else receive these letters from the bird.
