This isn't even the first time the Hightower's have tried to gain the throne via marriage. They married one of their own, Ceryse Hightower, to Prince, later King, Maegor. Ceryse was even the niece of the High Septon who was the one who arranged the marriage. She turned out to be barren. To greatly simplify what followed, it became a very sour marriage and didn't end on a happy note. The marriage and the problems it caused contributed greatly to the already troublesome problems between House Targaryen and the Faith leading to the Faith Militant Uprising which led to Maegor becoming King and his war on the Faith which caused him to become "the Cruel" which led to his abuses of his brother's bloodline which led to their own rebellion against him which eventually culminated in Jaehaerys I "the Conciliator" becoming king. Jaehaerys was a great king who reconciled the Faith and the House of the Dragon but he was a terrible father and grandfather whose failures in those areas ultimately culminated in a domino effect that left his family vulnerable to external manipulation which led to the events of this show.

Idk why but I get a feeling that there’s parallels between daemon and orhmond, talking about superiority and the corruption toward whoever they choose to prop up. And im Honestly looking forward to aegon’s come up. I think if he pulls through he might become a better king than the first time around.

I will always be against Otto and the High towers. It's true the Targaryens are conquerors of the seven kingdoms, but the High Towers were unable to over throw them through war, or uprisings. They instead slowly killed my goat Viserys. These lines below made me team black. Rhaenyra: "And what will you do about the vulture who perches upon your throne?" Viserys: "What vulture?" Rhaenyra: "Your Hand." Viserys: "Otto Hightower has served two kings loyally and faithfully." Rhaenyra: "He wants Aegon to be named heir. And he will stop at nothing to see it done. Including spying on me to bring about my ruin. You speak of the Conqueror's vision and the need for strength and unity across the realm. But how can that be accomplished with your most trusted adviser so self-interested?
