Ah...yes, thank you! So many episodes this week! ❤❤❤ Cuz this show is binge worthy! 😂

Seelia

They don't look alike 😂 you guys are just not used to Cdrama costumes and actors yet. And please stop adding the S in Marquis. It's silent. It's pronounced Mar-key. Wu'an is like a territory so it's like saying, that is the President of the United States. 😊

Nope it was intentional for the actor to look alike (at least giving off the same vibe). So, Lee was right cuz in the novel they explain it in more detail when his character was introduce and in this specific arc when he kidnapped Changning. I won't go into detail yet until we reach that episode but Lee catching on that brief "Little Marquis Wu'an" statement and noticing their similarities since last ep is actually impressive to me. Because I too, only come to know about this details after reading the novel and rewatching the episode again, cuz it was only mentioned in passing with no details explanation whatsoever, unlike in novel. In the context of historical Chinese dramas and English translations of Chinese titles, "Marquis" is pronounced as "Mahr-kwis" (rhyming with "kiss"). While the traditional French pronunciation of the word is "Mahr-kee" (where the 's' is silent), English translations of Chinese period settings almost universally use the anglicized pronunciation with the "kwis" sound. The Chinese Original: The title translates from the Chinese rank of nobility Hóu (侯) or Hóujue (侯爵). The English Standard: When British historical titles or translated Chinese nobility ranks (like Marquis Wu'an) are spoken aloud in English media, audiobooks, or dubs, "Mahr-kwis" is the standard, accepted pronunciation. (Source: Google) So, for me either pronunciation is acceptable ;D

A.

The English version of Marquis is spelled Marquess and pronounced with the S at the end. The French/American version is spelled Marquis and pronounced the French way. I agree that the Prince has a similar vibe to Xie Zheng, I wouldn't have picked up on the intention without Lee's comments.

Xie Zheng's idea is terrible but it's also realistic for that period, he didn't have enough people so he had to do it to win, that is how he got his position and reputation because while he was seen as a hero, he was also known as ruthless. This story being more centered around the female lead's journey, his screen time was less and kinda green/sweet in most time, that is actually one of the reasons for the huge popularity of this show, his character has a huge fandom ( even separate from the actor). However, talking with other viewers on the internet and stuff, I noticed how there are many people who don't get what Xie Zheng did here😂 Like I knew that the war /politics plot is not for everyone and some people skip those parts in this kind of shows but that is just funny to me, they act like this character is perfect.

YaBoyRockLee Reactions

Yes, that’s correct and personally, I understood that part. They make it clear that it’s morally appalling but necessary for victory against a larger army.

But now I’ve watched the whole thing so I’m not sure what I said in this video but I just knew that it’s explained and I get it

Loved the banter.

That's why when General He originally asked General Tang Pei Yi to take on the dam project if he was OK with losing his reputation because he knows he's asking him to do something dishonorable by a) capturing people to quarry stone and b) killing them when they break the dam.

I think the phrase is "Treading a starving tiger's path, as precarious as a stack of eggs." Its a traditional Chinese idiom used to describe navigating an extremely perilous, delicate, or high-stakes situation where the slightest misstep could lead to disaster.
