Imagine wondering why the show is so calm and when something crazy will happen, and then the next episode has enough lore to melt your brain and a potential death cliffhanger. Mushoku Tensei is like driving a car at a nice cruising speed and then turning on the nitrous at a ninety degree turn.

(Anime-only, feel like I gotta clarify with these isekai anime lol) 6:30 - It's funny because the first time this situation happened was when he met Orsted and he asked Rudy if he knew the Man-God. Rudy said yes and Orsted immediately tried to kill him. So he actually has learned his lesson about carelessly saying that he knows who the Man-God is or that he talks to him. I do wonder how they would've reacted if he was honest though. I feel all of these God characters hate the Man-God, but we've only met two so far. My first thought was that Nanahoshi's sickness has something to do with her being from Japan and not this world, and prolonged exposure is causing this. Disregarded it at first because Rudeus hasn't had these problems, but then I remembered as you guys pointed out that Rudy was reincarnated into this world so his body is actually from here, while Nanahoshi is actually straight from Japan, just teleported here. So their situations aren't quite the same. Could be something else too, but her being from Japan is the one thing that separates her from everyone else that's helped with her research, so going to lean towards this for the time being. Will probably find out next episode anyway.

My theorie is. Nanahoshi is the only living being on this world that doesnt have mana in her body, so her body isnt build for treatment using magic. So her constant treatment for her overwork is harming her.

well remember that nanahoshi and rudy spoke a different language infront of sylphie when she first met her and rudy spends a lot of time with her for those experiments. i dont blame sylphie. and rudy did the first smart thing hes done in a potentially dangerous situation in this anime, when asked about the man god he just kept his mouth shut. i certainly wouldnt say shit if suddenly out of the blue someone asked me that while im in some super powered guys castle. rudy trying no to get donut'd again

Anime only here, French viewer 9:30 - In this scene, the subtitles I got from a french anime platform kinda give more context. In your episode, it says "But your mana recalls Laplace. It disgusts me. Do not think of using it in my halls". But when I watched the episode, the french subtitles translates to "Your mana pool reminds me of Laplace's mana pool. Its seems limitless/unlimited, so don't you dare use it in my halls". The show explained to us early in season 1 that you can vastly grow your mana pool if you train your magic till mana exaustion everyday during your childhood. The show also tells on numerous occasions that Rudy has an ungodly amount of mana, and that only Laplace has more mana that Rudy. Even Orsted said he reminds him of Laplace because of that purple fireball Rudy shot him with. From my subtitles, you understand that Rudy teleportation took more time because of how much mana Rudy has; Sylphie also took longer than everyone else (except Rudy) because of her big mana pool that she developped from training magic with Rudy when they were kids. 4:50 - This is only my interpretation, NOT FACTS. When someone enters, I think there is something like a barrier that "scans" your mana, and when Rudy and Sylphie go through we see their manabeing "scanned", the white "particles". I think because of how much mana they both have, the guide is intrigued and stop them to ask about Man-God. Remember that Orsted also asked Rudy about Man-God because he found him to be different from everyone else who was scared of him.

With that Nanahoshi/Rudy relationship back in season 2 they were talking to each other in Japanese and talking about how they're from the same home town. Fitz was there, but they didn't know she was sylphie at the time. So to sylphie it's got to feel like they're lying about their relationship

I'd say I only started getting interested in this season from episode 6, not that I dislike slow-pace, I loved season two. But a lot of this season hasn't been clicking with me. But this episode was PEAK, so much worldbuilding, this is the type of episode where I remember why I love Mushoku Tensei so much. The last two were pretty good too.

Anime only watcher the dragon people seem to care or know about fate, both orsted who knew things and them being suss about rudy whos not supposed to be of this world. that stood out to me. my guess is the mural tells whats to happen in the future and it might not be good, or maybe not for the dragons, which is why perugius thinks its suffocating, like hopeless. at the same time they like nanahoshi so maybe since shes different theyre interested in the knowledge surrounding her existence. just my thoughts

I believe the issue with the teleporting had to do with "amount of mana." Notice who got teleported right away? Shizuka, who has zero mana. Eh???

Anime only so no spoilers: I'm guessing it's because Sylphie uses healing chantless unlike Rudy. Nanahoshi's body is fundamentally different from a native's because she has no mana and chantless magic is heavily impacted by the mage's understanding in a way that regular magic apparently isn't. The whole reason Rudy can't use chantless healing magic is because he doesn't understand biology well enough so I'm guessing this is similar; Sylphie understands the arcane biology of her world's natives but Nanahoshi has no natural resistance to mana and is getting inundated with the stuff constantly so its having an effect Sylphie would never expect.

That and Sylphie's the only chantless healing magic user we know of and its heavily implied that requires an in-depth knowledge of arcane biology that dwarves Rudy's own. If she's treating Nanahoshi using the same principles she uses for her world's natives then it makes sense there'd be an issue.

AFAIK it doesn't rly require that much knowledge, but like every other magic, it requires you to VISUALIZE the magic. Since it's unscientific, Rudy can't rly visualize the healing magic like he can w/ elemental magic etc to silent cast. Hence why he can use it the normal way, which is to use a chant to assist visualization (hence the chants being so verbose).
