designation is like early commit, they dont go there yet but that means hes basically already in and not busy with studying for entrance exams like everyone else, and importantly not studying with azuma. i agree with director, my thoughts are being stoic isnt just about locking in for the sake of locking in. you could end up locked in to the wrong thing. you really need wisdom to make choices first and that comes from experience or exploration. its simpler once youre older and things are clear cut, but theyre still young so they got plenty of time.

Human evolution has made it our nature to focus on problems, if its no problem then we don't need to waste the resources on it. If it is a problem though our brains kick into overdrive. I don't know if you guys xp this but if its someone I don't care about particularly then they can tell me their problems all day and my brain won't put one extra calorie to it. Someone I care about though and my brain goes galactic to try to figure it out.

This entire episode reminded me of how stressful it can be deciding what you wanna do. The assignments where you had to write down what you wanted to do or your future goals, can truly be stressful no matter if your a freshmen or a senior in high-school. But this show does a really great job of trying to show you that if you're going to make a decision like this, make sure you actually want to do it or make sure it is something you aren't going to regret in 5-10 years later because you didn't venture outside of your view. Sometimes we have folks that come into our lives and it gives a whole new perspective and like Lee said.. "I keep those people out because I didn't want my focus to waver".. it's a double-edged sword because sometimes you need it and other times you fall into the it was meant to be category. But there's so many people these days doing things they don't actually have a passion for these days and they regret that they didn't do this or that when they had the chance. It's why both Lee and DN aren't wrong but also at the same time you have to be more open to exploring other avenues and choices because I know people who thought they had it figured out.. then they got the degrees and college debt and they're not even using that degree because they found something else that actually made them happy. There is so much stress in high school when it comes to this specific topic and not everyone knows but one thing I've never liked is how you're punished for not knowing. Kudos to this episode for addressing a topic that oftentimes in animes is portrayed as the class bullying you for not knowing what you wanna do and sorta outcasting you for it too. This anime has taken a lot of things that other genres hit on, but it actually makes it relatable and brings about a solution to it. While other shows might dance around it and use it as fuel for the MC or something.
