Duo and Solo Reactions Survey (Patreon)

Quick question for you guys 👀

How should I decide which shows go SOLO vs DUO next quarter?

This season I took on ALL the new shows solo and did DUO on every returning show.

That's not gonna work every season though... what if there's only ONE returning show?

So I want a consistent system that actually makes sense.

One thing I already lean on: the more comedy driven a show is, the better it fits DUO.

What else should matter?

Genre? Pacing? Whether it's a show you all want to see with both of us reacting?

Romance category should definitely be duo, isekai can be Solo depending on how hype it is, Everything else is pretty much a case by case basis. And if you really wanna know what I do, judge the book by its cover. If the name sounds lit and it's falls out of the category of Romance or Isekai, I'd duo it.

The current way is not bad. From what I see, before each season you lock in most anticipated shows as duo and if there is another show later on that's looking like heat, then you could check it out solo?

Pretty much. There’s a caveat. If it’s a NEW anticipated show lands on a day when Director doesn’t normally record with me then I do it by myself. For example, I don’t want to miss out on the show that is on Thursday and I can’t post it on Saturday

It was a new show. We can always know that ahead of time, but that makes the most sense too.

Obviously hard to always tell going in but if show seems thought provoking/discussion orientated. Would benefit from the different perspectives. One in recent memory is like Tanya were allowed quite interesting stuff being talked about between both of you

From my perspective it's relativly simple: -If it's a certyfied banger -> duo (yea, yea, you never know for new shows, but with CERTYFIED bangers everyone and their mother says it will be new big thing long before release and we are rarely wrong) -If it's degen -> duo -If it's returning banger -> duo -If it's returning, but noone knows why it got s2 -> solo -If it's isekai and MC looks like Kirito Clone nr. 2351, and the name is 2 paragraphs long -> why are we even here? do whatever, preferably nothing at all -If there is very little hype behind it -> solo
