Hey guys!

Well, I solved the problem. Okay, I cheated. But it took me less time than if I had been searching for days or weeks. So I ended up replacing the entire machine outside of the GPU in 2 chapters.

Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday's installation: https://imgur.com/a/l3FK1X2

I reinstalled the windows. And now Cycles works. Thank heavens the GPU wasn't at fault. The machine's performance has also improved about 30-40% faster with this processor. In principle, this will be felt in the simulations.

So the current configuration:

Intel i9-12900K

Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black cooler

ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero

64 GB (4x16GB) Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 6000 Mhz

Asus TUF RTX 3090

Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD (for system and apps)

Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2 NVMe SSD (for project files)

Samsung 870 Evo 4 TB SSD (for textures, and third party models)

Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB SSD (just for temp and cache, pagefile etc.)

Seagate SkyHawk 6TB HDD (for archive, final content, download and p0rn :D )

be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 1500W 80+ Titanium

NZXT H710 black case

I really like this processor packaging, I think it stays here as an ornament on the shelf. Old parts can be assembled and then a second machine.

That CPU rocks. You may find the 64gb limiting, but trying to get larger capacity ddr5 right now seems impossible

I'm rendering with the GPU. There, the size of the VRAM is important.

True, but textures are loaded into RAM before being transferred to VRAM. GPU-direct would solve this but in the meantime, blender render simplify can scale down texture sizes if they become too big for the scene.

Very neat wiring job too!

Pozdrawiam

By the way, I'm probably going to move to i9 soon....Did you have time to test it already ? Is it really worth compared to i7 ?

So far I have had AMD. A Ryzen 9 3950x. It's noticeably faster. I try with CinebenchR23.2 and 3D Mark
