Devlog #6 (Patreon)

Drinking in some of those final summer vibes. Annnnnd we're back to business.

Well, I've been busy updating the art for day one and Jim's current sprite. So I've assembled a comparison of my progress. I'm quite happy with how far I've come in terms of art skills. I definitely had to catch myself a couple of times because he would be looking toooo good and I had to refocus lol. I think he'll look really good in game with all of his animations. Hopefully I can keep steady progress and I won't have such a big jump in art skills because- boy it is fun, don't get me wrong- but updating all the art is very time consuming. It ain't much but it's honest werk.

I'm just focusing on art right now, but I'll definitely have to come back around and heavily edit the writing for day one and two as well. Because just like my art, I feel like my writing style has also drastically changed, hopefully for the better. I'm happier with it. Oh, and also adding some more options. For example, many people have requested to "cry" or "yell" when first encountering Jim lol. And I feel like as the DM I can definitely offer those options haha. I had not considered them when I was first working on the game. So lots of stuff to do. I keep adjusting Jim's character sheet. And I definitely need it for consistency reasons. But this is kinda what his sprite is turning out to look like. I'm still working on it and I'm quite happy how he's turning out. I'm probably done with day one CGs (Fireplace talk + door encounter) and all of is their working parts.

Finally, as a little treat, I have the little model of Jim's cabin I made a long time ago. Just for some help with making the backgrounds, planning, and stuff. It was free online somewhere. BUT I definitely should have used Sims or anything else because that would have probably been infinitely better lol. But there it is.

Personal stuffI've been a bit sick, but I'm on the up and up now and I think things will be a lot better going forward. Generally. Recentering fictional characters has improved my life greatly lol. The soft creature in me is healing and it desires shameless, self indulgent smut again.
