Patreon Forces MASSIVE Changes for Apple Money (Patreon)

The impact this has on you as free members may be minimal because you're not currently pledging any money here, but you may still be supporting other creators, or may choose to one day support me here, but here's some worthwhile info we recently learned today.

Patreon is actively seeking to ruin the platform's ease of use and are citing Apple's recent mandates as the reason why. Patreon is going to enforce these changes in order to stay on the iOS store, but I'm sure bending over backwards for Apple will stop right there, right?

The situation's a little too fresh (having just learned the info within the last hour) so there's not much to say about it, but a bunch of us are yelling at Patreon in the Discord Server right now.

Here's what you need to know:

All Patreon creators are going to be forced to the SUBSCRIPTION MODEL.

This means I will no longer receive 100% of my income at the start of the month.

This means you will be charged MULTIPLE TIMES on different days during the month based on when you pledged to a creator; like managing netflix, hulu, and disney + subscriptions.

Also membership prices on the iOS app will cost 30% more. Example: $10 tier will cost $14.

Anyway I just thought I'd let you know before any big things ended up going down.

We told Patreon 3 years ago we didn't like this idea, and they promised they'd do better. Yet it's coming up again, so, y'know... Yeah.
