I'm experimenting with some new techniques - this time attempting to emulate the general vibes of an oil painting. I don't ordinarily show stuff like this, but I think stuff like this can be exciting. I'd like to step away from feeling like such a robot, and posts like this might help that.

I think one of the more interesting visual phenomena is the rough bits of "under painting" showing through - like the yellow/red bleeding out from under the blue of her torso. It's an unfinished look, but something about it feels really cool - little bits of "dry brush" providing interesting textures. One of the annoying problems will be details - like all those leaves in the flowers...

I don't know if I'll "finish" this proper, but I think that's okay as long as something interesting does come out of it - even if it's not some "product" that's "good enough" for public consumption.

Don't forget to eat & sleep.

It's a lovely piece already! The shading, especially on her face, is so good and striking.

It definitely gives me those BotW vibes, since some (if not, all) of it's artwork had that feel to it. That and Okami (which is still a game I really need to try playing again).

I see some enthusiasm in what you've written. I like that. Please keep doing more work that makes you feel this way.
