As the month (and year) is about to close... I don't have too much to say, but I will share some of my thoughts - which may inform how I feel and perform in 2026.

Work Reflections:

Moving to a schedule of one illustration per week has resulted in a more comfortable work environment, stronger artwork, and more diverse bonus images in between.

I believe my best works were experimental in nature, either in subject matter or aesthetic.

Monthly themes have been an interesting way to build on specific ideas. We saw this multiple times with Female Link Friday: power ups, summer, and winter traveler series. The latest winter theme almost felt as though it might have had a narrative too.

Though already unpopular, Elayne Beaumont (and friends) didn't have much opportunity to shine this year within my body of work.

I've received one report that accessing the Dropbox was too difficult (Patreon). While not common, it is still not ideal. I don't know of any good ways to solve this issue.

The space around NSFW is getting harsher. With Visa / Mastercard targeting even Steam & SubscribeStar. We've also seen forced ID verification in online spaces, like Bluesky. Patreon hasn't gotten any easier. So we still have to approach work very carefully.

I've kept most of my art private (exclusive to patreon, subscribestar, dropbox, etc). Not by design, but catering directly to the public with art simply feels less worthwhile now.

Game Dev Thoughts:

I want to create a better, cleaner "player collision system" before anything else.

The previous code is prone to error, allowing players to get stuck inside of walls when landing at certain angles. It's also messier / complicated, making it harder to fix bugs.

My new collision system is much simpler (but requires clever problem solving) and seems fruitful thus far. Though more testing is obviously required.

By focusing solely on this one feature with a fresh project file, I can more effectively program without other features getting in the way. This may create an opportunity to make a simple platformer game so that you can test the controls without the rest of the mechanics - though I don't know if that will necessarily be a fun experience.

Possible Disruptions in 2026:

The lease to my apartment expires soon. I may move, though I don't know if I can afford to. If we do end up moving, then doing so may disrupt our routine for a bit.

If the pain in my jaw gets worse, our routine may be disrupted depending on how bad it is.

Don't forget to eat & sleep.

Damn, that's a lot that happened in this year that it doesn't feel like much has happened. Though, I will say that I had fun in seeing what you were able to create, playing the latest iteration of your Beaumont Game, suggesting different outfits for your OCs and appreciating all of the artwork you've done, even on days where you may not have felt motivated to do so. If you do end up moving, I hope it is somewhere affordable and accessible to your needs. May you rest well and be Brell. ☺️🙏💕

It was a pretty awful year in my personal life, but I continued to appreciate your work through the times.

I hope the apartment situation and your jaw pain don't wind up being bad for you, but take as long as you need to get them taken care of if you can. I hope this upcoming year proves bountiful for you in good ways!
