“Phew…” The woman let out a long exhausted sigh of relief, slumping backward in her cheap creaky office seat as she stared at the ceiling. Exhausted, she simply sat in motionless as silence took over the room, not wanting to move a muscle after the hours upon hours she had spent working on her thesis. Katherine's curly blonde hair messily dangled from the back of the chair, and even her long fair eyelashes couldn't hide the absolute exhaustion in her eyes. Normally after a hard day's work of studies and essays, she would waste some time scrolling her phone or party with their friends, but not today. The young woman didn't want to do a thing, even sit up from her chair, could fall asleep where she said and be perfectly fine with it.

Getting in bed wasn't worth it, her hoodie and shorts would suffice, Simply wrapping her arms over her belly as she began to slowly drift off. Even as she lay only half awake, the stress was still getting to her, feeling your heart beating her chest like a pile driver. Every thump made her wince in discomfort, feeling her whole body shake with every beat. With every passing second it got worse, until she began to dream that a pile driver was indeed pounding against her chest. But of course, being too exhausted to move, all she could do was sit there as she could feel the pounding of the loud thumps, until one last final shock shook her awake, nearly falling out of her seat. Flailing her arms and legs about, it took her a moment to get her bearings as she sat back upright, quickly realizing that it wasn't her heart that was pounding as she felt the entire dorm room shaking around her.

“Earthquake!” she immediately thought, but quickly realized that wasn't the case.   While the building was shaking, it was with rhythmic and consistent thumps, like heavy,  weighty footsteps. Katherine could only hunker down on the floor as the thumps got louder, louder, and LOUDER… until they were right outside her door. Then a brief silence, as the doorknob slowly slowly turned, clumsy jiggling a few times as if whoever was on the other side was having trouble with it. But the very second the knob clicked, the door flung open so quickly it smashed against the wall, as a large fluffy and rather ominous figure stepped inside. “KATHRINE!” the figure shouted a loud, but cutesy voice bursting with excitement as they hopped into the room. The woman simply sat there as the figure approached, eyes wide open and frozen in bewilderment, unable to fully believe what she was seeing right in front of her.

The figure was tall, thick with wide hips and puffy haunches, large front paws with bright pink velvet beans outstretched, massive floppy ears with soft cheeks and wide gleaming eyes, and a figure so thick and plush it looked like a pillow. What was currently hopping into her room was a large, plush, soft-looking anthropomorphic bunny. It looked like a mascot, or one of those homemade costumes that people would wear to conventions, but more than that, it looked strikingly familiar. Finally snapping out of her bewildered state, Katherine let out a gasp as the bunny's large paws wrapped around her, followed by the rest of its body as it flopped on top of her with a thump. Before she knew it, she was pinned to the floor, squished by the bunny's heavy pillowy weight, its paws wrapped firmly around her back and head as it began to nuzzle her relentlessly.

MMPH!!! The young woman didn't even have time to get a good look at the bunny's face before being smothered against it, her head squished into its large plush cheeks as if someone had thrown a pillow over her face. The bunny squeaked and wheeked with glee as it rubbed its face against the smothered human, keeping its paw wrapped tightly behind her head as it kept her nice and squished. Katherine meanwhile, could only whimper quietly as her voice was muffled unable to do anything but take the smothering hug as her arms were tightly pinned to her sides. Fortunately, after the bunny seemed satisfied with the nuzzling, it finally lifted its head off of Katherine’s face, but the plush wasn't finished yet. Just as a human finally took a breath of air, the plush put its lips to her cheek with a big affectionate bunny kiss. Its large plush button nose twitched against her face, tickling Katherine’s as she squirmed underneath its heavy plush body, unable to hold back a small giggle that made the bunny squeak.

Finally, the bunny looked down at the human with a longing but rather bitter-sweet smile, looking happy but with a hint of sadness in their eyes. “I missed you so much.” they said softly, gently stroking the back of Katherine’s head with her beanie paws. “I've been trying to track you for days, I thought I'd never find you.” the bunny said. The young woman just stared up at the bunny confused, there was something familiar about this giant living plush, but she couldn't put her finger on it. “Who… Or what are you?” she finally managed to spit out, calm but still completely dumbfounded. The bunny didn't respond immediately, looking almost as confused as they twitched their little plush nose. “Me?” the bunny squeaked. “You've gotten so big and I still recognize you, I at least still look the same and you don't recognize me?”

Kathrine’s eyes widened, taking another look at the plushies wide gleaming eyes as the memory finally came back to her. It wasn’t just a stuffed bunny, it was the stuffed bunny from her childhood, Rosebud. It used to be Kathrine favorite toy, and they did pretty much everything together. They would have tea parties together, sleep together, and she brought Rosebud pretty much everywhere if her parents would allow it. The bunny was more than just Kathrine's favorite toy though, Rosebud was practically her imaginary friend. Or at least… she was.

“Oh! Rosebud!” Kathrine shouted, making the bunny smile. “Awwww, you do remember me!” Rosebud replied, nuzzling their noses together again. “I knew you'd never forget me.” she whispered, keeping her paws wrapped around Kathrine while picking her up from the floor. The bunny then sat down and placed her owner on her lap, taking her back into a tight plushie hug as she held her nice and close. “You have no idea how many years I waited… How many years I spent in that cabin, stuck under the couch.” Rosebud said. A single cold sweat rolled down Catherine's forehead, staying awkwardly still as she snuggled into her bunny's soft chest.

Rosebud then loosened their hug so she could look back down at Kathrine. “But I forgive you! After all, we're together again, and we can play lots and lots!” the bunny smiled, becoming fidgety as they rocked back and forth with excitement. “Play?” Kathrine asked, looking nervous, leaning back only to feel the bunny's soft large paws keeping her cornered in their lap. “You know, dress up, tea parties, hide and seek…” The bunny paused as she leaned closer to the woman's face. “And of course!” Rosebud then pulled Kathrine back into her chest, squeezing her nice and tight just like before. “Lots and LOTS of bunny snuggles!” She squeaked happily, kissing Kathrine on her forehead before looking back down at her. “So! What should we play first!?” the bunny asked, her eyes wide with eager enthusiasm.

Kathrine was just silent for a few moments, simply responding with an awkward “ummm…” to break the silence. “I can’t play with you Rosebud.” she said. The bunny’s smile immediately disappeared, replaced with a blank baffled expression. “What do you mean?” the bunny asked while leaning closer. “I…” Kathrine stuttered, pushing Rosebud’s face back a bit to give her some space. “I can't play anymore, I have essays to a tuition to pay-” “I!” Rosebud interrupted, raising her voice before pausing… “I understand…” the bunny slumped her shoulders down with a sigh, loosening her grip on Kathrine. Carefully, the young woman stepped out of the bunny's lap, I took a few cautious steps back. “Look… it's getting late. and I'm really tired, so can we discuss this tomorrow?” Kathrine, asked. The bunny raised her head slowly with a nod.

Though still a bit wary of the bunnies, Kathrine slowly walked straight to her bed, not even bothering to put her pajamas on as she was far too tired. But then, with a loud thump, the bunny hopped up from behind her. “Wait!” the bunny shouted playfully placing both of her paws around her in a gentle hug, startling the exhausted young woman. “You're not even going to put your PJs on?” the Rosebud asked, placing her paws on Kathrine’s shoulders as she began tugging her shirt, nearly pulling the garment off over her head. “H-hey stop!” Kathrine gasped, grabbing the neck of a shirt before Rosebud could yank it off. The bunny then released her top, looking confused as Kathrine pulled a now stretched-out neckline back down over her head. “Why?” Rosebud asked. “You're going to sleep. In your clothes?”

Kathrine didn't immediately reply, looking a bit flustered with a slight blush on her face. “It's fine, I-I don't need pajamas to sleep, I'm not a kid anymore.” she said with an annoyed tone in her voice, fixing her shirt as she stepped away from the bunny and onto her bed. “Well…” the bunny leaned in, putting her large button-nosed face up to the human. “Could you at least dress me in PJs?” the bunny whispered, twitching her little nose with a giggle. Kathrine just looked back at the bunny baffled, her eyes scanning up and down her massive form. “Dress you up?” she asked confused. “You know… like we used to!” the bunny squeaked putting her paws up to her cheeks while waggling her fluffy cottontail behind her. “Rosebud, look how big you are! You're as tall as the ceiling!” she exclaimed, putting her hands out in front of her. “There aren't any clothes that would even fit you now.”

The bunny looked down at herself, patting her paws on her plush belly, as if only now realizing just how absurdly large her form was. “Hmmmm.” After pondering for a moment, the bunny raised her paws above her head and clapped them together with a soft Pomf. Then, she began shrink, her cotton fabric and stuffing creaking loudly as her form seemed to almost collapse in on itself. The sleepy woman nearly jumped as the bunny quickly reduced her size right in front of her, looking as if she was deflating herself at will. However, as she looked closely, she saw the fabric visibly receding into her seams, the bunny practically reshaping herself by adjusting her skin. As the room filled with the sound of creaking fabric, the bunny's legs seemed to straighten out, her belly slimmed down and her arms became much longer and less puffy. Even the bunny's head seemed to change in proportion, slimming down with her neck in proportion to the rest of her body. Within a few seconds Rosebud was now just as tall as her owner, with a much more feminine and more anthropomorphicized form.

Now, Rosebud was just as tall as Kathrine, though her form was now a lot less cartoony than her original plushie form, she still looked just as darling and cute, and even more cuddly. “How’s this?” she asked, leaning forward with one hand on her knee and the other placed on her cheek, as if posing for a pin-up photo. Even Kathrine couldn't deny just how adorable the bunny looked, feeling her heart skip a beat in their chest as she struggled to come up with words. “Hmmm?❤️” the bunny waited for her owner's response, playfully wiggling her cotton tail while slowly batting her eyelashes. “Maybe you'd like me to wear some of my old frilly gowns? The ones you loved to dress me in.” the bunny teased. “I…  don't have them anymore, I tossed them years ago.” Kathrine explained. The bunny's jaw dropped, her eyes widened in disbelief. “WHAAAA!?” Rosebud exclaimed.

“WHY!?” She whined, looking disappointed. “It's been years! I didn't think I'd see you again since I left you at the cabin!” Kathrine shouted, as an awkward silence immediately followed. The bunny just stared at her, her eyes still wide open, but now appearing emotionless. Kathrine was also silent, but couldn't hide the subtle panic on her face. “Accidentally… of course. And my parents refused to drive me all the way back to pick you up, you know?” the woman explained, averting her eyes nervously. The bunny's ears perked up, her face now appearing relieved but astonished. “Oooooooh! That makes sense!” she exclaimed. “That's why you never came back to get me, it's not like you could have taken the wheel and driven back on your own.” Kathrine was relieved, sitting back down on her bed with a sigh.

“Look I can give you some of my old clothes tomorrow. Since you're at least my height you should be able to fit in some of them.” Kathrine said, pulling up the sheets as she climbed into bed. “Ok!” the bunny said enthusiastically, rolling onto the bed behind her. Kathrine gasped as she felt the bunny snuggle her from behind, wrapping her now slender but soft plushy arms around her belly in a gentle hug. Again she found her heart skipping a beat, but with a hint of embarrassment as she found herself flustered. “W-what are you doing!?” Kathrine gasped. “CUDDLING!” Rosebud squeaked, playfully squishing her face up against the back of her owner's head. “Just like we used to!” the young woman blushed as red as a beat, Feeling her heart fluttered as the soft body of her former plush cuddled her up. But deep down, she couldn't quell the frustration bubbling up inside her.

“NO!” Kathrine shouted, pulling herself out of the hug before shoving the bunny out of her bed as she tumbled onto the floor. With a look of disheartened confusion, Rosebud slowly sat up on our heads and knees as she looked up to her owner, who looked down upon her with contempt. “I'm not cuddling a giant bunny, I'm not a kid anymore! That's why I left you at the cabin!” Kathrine shouted. The bunny was left slack-jawed as she let out a weak gasp, visibly shaken while she clenched her paw against her chest. “You think I love plushies so much? I was 12! I ditched you under the couch because I was too old for that crap!”  The woman growled grabbing her pillow. “I wanted makeup and fancy clothes! Why do you think you were the last stuffed thing I ever owned? I didn't want you!” With that, she tossed a pillow that Rosebud with all her might, knocking the poor plush over as she rolled onto her back.

“It was only after I told my parents that I lost you that they finally got me better stuff, and that was years ago.” Kathrine then grabbed her other pillow as she climbed off her bed, looming directly over the bunny as she began shaking and squeaking in grief. “Why would you ever think I would want you now!?!” with all her rage she flung her pillow down at Rosebud, only for her to catch the pillow in her paws. “HUH?” flabbergasted, the woman tried to tear the pillow from the bunny's grasp, but it didn't budge an inch from her paws. Suddenly, the bunny effortlessly pulled the pillow apart, bursting cotton all over the young woman in an explosion of fluff.

Kathrine tumbled back onto her bed, and by the time the cotton had fluttered to the ground, the bunny was now looming over her, standing just a few inches away. Kathrine shivered as the light from the overhead lamp made the bunny ominously backlit, her facial features now hidden in the contrasting shadow. “So… you really ditched me huh?” the bunny said in a somewhat tame monotone voice, spooking the human as she began scooting to the side to put more distance between her and the bunny. “Well, you don't have to worry about me…” Once Kathrine stepped off the bed, the bunny turned to face her with only half the room light shining on her face. Rosebud’s expression seemed oddly stoic, with a serious look on her face and a hint of what could only be described this frustration. All the while, she began to grow back in size, now a few inches taller than before while maintaining her anthropomorphic shape, allowing her to tower over the young woman. Before Kathrine could step out of her reach, Rosebud grabbed both of her shoulders, pulling her close as she opened her mouth. “I'll make sure you never misplace me again.” Much to Kathrine's horror, the stuffed bunny glomped her mouth over her face.
