Cel Shaded commission for Shabonzugi of Misty (the aged-up version from the game, not the one from the anime), after some bubble blowing training with her new Popplio got a little out of hand.

It was a beautiful Wednesday morning, the water gym was empty, but Misty had gotten up early to do some Pokémon training. After slipping into her White one-piece swimsuit and putting on her signature jacket, she took a dip into one of the pools and tossed one of her Pokeballs into the air. Beaming out was a small blue-nosed Popplio, who performed a somersault in the air the second they manifested, before landing back in the water with a splash.

This particular Popplio was the special case, he didn't know how to use his powers and was abandoned by his mother. Being left all alone and unable to fend for himself, Misty took it upon herself to shelter him, giving him the nickname Pond. The gym leader had been taking care of Pokémon since she was a teenager, and even 10 years later, rescuing Pokémon was something she was very passionate about.

The gym wouldn’t be open until 9 AM, so for the past week, she had been taking the mornings to help the Popplio practice his powers. Misty’s sisters wouldn't come to use the gym for a while, so they had the whole morning to themselves.

“Alright, Pond, I have a good feeling about today. You've made lots of progress since you've started practicing, and I think we're getting close to unlocking some of your moves.” she announced in a sweet voice, hyping up the Popplio as he clapped his flippers excitedly.

“Let's get started with bubble Beam, GO!” she commanded.

Taking a deep breath, the Popplio closed his eyes and blew a stream of small shimmering bubbles. The bubbles were small and delicate, but plentiful. Unfortunately, they each popped only moments after he blew them.

“Look at that! You made a whole stream of them!” Misty cheered. Pond squeaked excitedly in response, hopping into the air and even performing a backflip.

The woman kneeled down into the water to look at him at face level, getting her herself and her swimsuit half soaked. “You made so many more than last time, just a little bit more practice, and you’ll be able to use it as a proper move. I'm so proud of you.” she smiled.

Misty gave the Popplio a playful little poke on his nose, getting a little giggle out of the little seal Pokémon. But then, Pond’s blue nose began to twitch, slowly inhaling and exhaling as he began to feel a sneeze coming.

“What's wrong Pond?” Mitsy asked as she leaned closer. Not even a second after she asked, the Popplio let out a swift, high-pitched sneeze, causing a bubble to rapidly expand from his nose. Misty didn't even have time to gasp before the bubble squished into her, pressing against her face before wrapping around her body, followed by a soft POP.

Next thing the woman knew, she was tumbling in the air, suddenly feeling as if she was on a roller coaster ride. The room was spinning, everything was a blur, and her confused squeals had a strange reverberating echo. It took a few moments for the spinning to stop, the room now taking glistening, rainbow-like hue. Misty found herself awkwardly curled up with her legs bent behind her and her arms to her sides, and both her face and body pressed up against a soft squishy surface. Beneath her, she could see Pond looking up at her in guilt and bewilderment. It didn't take Misty long to piece together what had happened, she was wrapped up in a large Rainbow rainbow-tinted bubble, one that the Popplio had sneezed out.

Rather than panic, a wide smile spread across her squished face, looking at the seal Pokémon with pride.

“Pond! You did it!” she exclaimed. The Popplio’s look of guilt slowly washed away, his eyes gleaming with excitement as he looked at his nose “You made a huge bubble!” she sounded happily, awkwardly shifting within the bubble as she pushed her hands against the surface. The bubble yielded slightly, stretching out an inch before spring, her hands back to her sides. “And … a strong one at that.” she said, still shifting as she tried to get into a more comfortable position.

Unfortunately, due to the bubble size, she couldn't correctly adjust herself, the soft but resilient surface squeaking and stretching as she struggled to move. The Poplio’s expression slowly shifted back to concern, seeing as she couldn’t get out on her own.  Despite the bubble being made of water, it seemed to squeak and creak like rubber, and the surface felt oddly springy. Even as she tried to push the bubble out, it would simply bounce back to its more rounded Form. It almost felt like she was trapped in a thick balloon rather than a bubble.“H-hey Pond? I don't suppose you could pop this bubble for me?” she asked, unable to hide the unease in her voice.

The Popplio nodded, taking a deep breath as it tried to blow another bubble to counter and pop the one she was stuck in. But instead, he blew another stream of smaller bubbles, gently pushing Misty's prison higher into the air. “Oh! WHOA!” she gasped with a reverberating echo, her bubble bobbing and spinning as she gloated into the air. Pond squeaked nervously as he watched his rescuer drifting across the gym, and swam after her. Once he was close, he tried blowing another bubble, only for more flimsy suds to emerge from his nose.

All the while, Misty continued to gently float across the gym, her bubble gently squeaking and wobbling as she drifted. The Popplio could no longer even follow her, as she was too high in the air to reach, letting out a guilty squeak as he fiddled with his flippers. Meanwhile, Misty was taken for a ride in her soft, squeaky prison, unable to escape and left to gently drift around the large stadium. Every so often, the bubble would softly bump against the surrounding walls, sending her floating in another direction like a lazy pinball. Letting out a sigh, the trainer resigned herself to her predicament, accepting that she would have to wait for her sisters to find her in this embarrassing situation.

But even as she drifted high above the stadium floor, she couldn't help but look at the Popplio with a smile. Even if this was an accident, her bubble prison was proof that the little seal Pokémon had come a long way.

She was stuck in there for three hours.
