This will give you advanced warning from previous day of cold temps. Most cold comes from northwest and travels eastward and southward. Coupled with moving satellite images you can see the cold fronts coming and do not rely upon mainstream news. They may not tell you the truth about how cold it gets.

These maps show yesterday's high and low temperatures around the U.S., as well as the current temperatures and the 24-hour temperature change (the temperature difference between now and yesterday at the same time). Data Update Cycle: The maps for current temperature and the 24-hour change are updated at 20 minutes past the top of each hour.
