It's finally time for Alien! This was definitely an... experience. And I was also today years old when I found out that there are even more of these movies?! Have any of you seen them? Do they get scarier? Tell me everything.

They kinda get more 'action movie' based as they go on rather than scarier! Honestly that first chest-buster scene is probably the scariest, so if you have your safety burrito wrapping prepared you'll be fine for the others too. I think 'Aliens' and then the three newer ones are pretty good though.

I've only seen Alien, Aliens and the newest one Alien: Romulus. I think Alien is the best out of the ones I've seen. Aliens is good but not better than Alien imo. Alien: Romulus wasn't good to me, but I guess would be a decent watch if you are a big Alien fan and just enjoy the universe and aliens themselves.

I love Alien!!! My username starts with "xeno" because the alien in these movies is called a xenomorph👽 Alien Romulus (the 2024 movie) is my favorite of the whole franchise, with the original Alien as a close second. The first one is the only pure horror one, and the rest incorporate more action, mystery, etc

the alien is into butt stuff apparently... Another horror movie pick (I wanted to keep it to 3 but here's 4) 1. More of a thriller, but Gone Girl. Long term, it'd be cool to do a movie/book comparison, if you're into that. Especially since Gillian Flynn wrote both the book AND the screenplay. 2. [REC🔴], Spanish horror movie and probably the best found footage horror film imo. Won't say anything else😎 3. Gonjiam Haunted Asylum. Korean found footage film. Plot is kinda whatever but the scares are fun. My 12-year old and I watched it the other week and she loved it. 4. Lastly! Evil Dead (1981) is my favorite horror (and occasionally comedy) franchise, with Evil Dead 2 and Evil Dead 2013 being my favorites.

Prometheus is pretty good, it's a prequel of sorts, probably the best of the new alien movies

boxgrux

also i simp for Michael Fassbender, that's probably why I liked it so much lmao

seconding Gone Girl movie book comparison - that's a really fun time. I feel like you should watch the movie first since basically everyone agrees the book is better but idk

Alien is probably the most horror-focused one. Aliens is usually people’s favorite, it’s got more of an 80’s action feel to it, and it is really good. Prometheus and Alien Covenant are solid, they go a bit into the lore and expand the world building. And I haven’t seen the new one, Romulus, but I’ve heard that it’s good.

ooh, also if you haven't seen it yet, Guillermo Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies of all time, ever. I love it dearly

I think Psycho (1960) or Halloween (1978) could be fun and as a fun fact the leading ladies in these respective film's are irl mother & daughter

If I had to pick a horror movie I'd definitely go with The Blair Witch Project. It's what popularized the found footage genre and is one of the best examples of that style of horror. It'd be interesting to see what someone that doesn't tend to watch horror films would think of it.

True fact, blankets save you from monsters.

“He’s getting face fucked by this alien”. Best line ever. He’s a different man after this haha.
