Well this one was... interesting (If a scene is blurred it's because of nudity and idk how much Patreon rocks and rolls with that)

What were your thoughts on this movie? And did you see it in theaters? Was it scarier in that setting? I fear I would have been staring down at my popcorn for most of this movie if I had watched this in theaters

Overall, I can see the appeal and why so many people are loving this movie. But I can also see why people like me should just stay in their lane haha

I loved this movie, my favorite of 2024. I was annoyed at some of the jumpscares but the vibes were just impeccable and I feel like it spoke to me on a deeply personal level.

Also, I watched the original 1922 Nosferatu a couple days before watching this one, so it was really cool to see how this one navigated the story in comparison.

I saw this in the theater. I thought it was decent. I did almost bust out laughing twice in the theater though, first at her little moans at the very beginning and second when they were at his castle and there was the prolonged wheezing by Nosferatu going on, lol. Something that threw me off too was Nosferatu having hair and a mustache, I just always have the original version in my mind, so I wasn't expecting that change. But yeah, not a great movie , but not bad either, just right in the middle for me.

I feel like the movie lacked any tension (outside of waiting for jump scares). There was no tension during the climax, at no point did I care if a character was going to make it. The only time I felt anything was hearing and seeing what happened to the daughters. I think this movie could have benefited from stronger actors, the only time I felt like someone was acting was when Anna fell ill or when Knock was on screen. I did love the slow long shots, but each location didn't feel unique, so the long shots all felt similar and overdone after the third time. Just my 2 after seeing this for the first time.

Which would you say you liked better? And do you think the new version did a good job retelling the story?

GINA

Her little moans had me laughing so much internally mostly because I thought about her sitting there on set just moaning take after take haha. In the original does he not have hair? (Shocker: I've never seen it).

Thinking back on it now, I do agree with you about the lacking tension. When I knew something was about to jump out, I felt a shift because they were then building the tension to lead up to the jump scare but there were a lot of moments where I was sitting there rather comfortably which says a lot. Have you seen the original? If so, do you think that one did better with the things you thought were a bit weaker in this one?

I liked this one more, it sucked me in much more than the old one. I mean I was 100% locked in from the opening scene. The old one def feels more horrorish (albeit like vintage horror) whereas the new one, as gothic horror, felt like a drama-comedy-spooky-romance. But the old one also has a bit where Count Orlok is carrying around his casket looking for his new place and it's just like "damn everybody just hating on this old man looking for his new place smh", felt a little relatable like when you move into a new place😂

I've never seen the original either, just seen pictures of the character and in the original he is bald and no mustache.

I have not seen the original sadly. Maybe I'll check it out, but no I have not.
