Toby Young

This takes place immediately after the first

Fritz

As an even older person, I do think that use of aura farming was correct.

Watyusei

Now we must survive long enough to see part 3

Dune Part 2une: The Fracas on Arrakis

GINA

so long away :(

GINA

this honestly made my day. I love using their weird terms correctly lol

Fritz

You should look at some clips from the first ever Dune movie. Sting is in it in a Speedo.

Frankie H

Lisan al Gaib!!! As Written!!! At least you only have to wait a year for the next one. We waited 2 and half years for this movie after Part 1 came out. Youtuber "Quinn's Ideas" has great Dune explainer videos and lore videos. In case you haven't found them already. He has a great voice too. He has some very long videos but he has one called "Dune Explained in Five Minutes"

Jesús G

midwesterner 🫵🏻

Fun fact, for the worm riding scene they actually built a full fledged machine that he was riding on, Timmy said it was terrifying while filming

Tom G

Guild Navigators (they use the spice to control interstellar travel and have taken so much of it they've mutated beyond all recognition.) I hope they show up in the third movie and that they look exactly like the aliens from Arrival.

You should make a Letterboxd if you don’t already have one

Emanuel

I remember watching this at the biggest 70mm theatre in the US and it was THE MOST INSANE theatre experience ever. Constant chills.

Chris Brown

Paul survived long enough to become the villain :(

R McBean

Alright Gina, I hate to do this but now you have to choose because you've been calling yourself a Nolan channel for a bit now. Who is better, Christopher Nolan (Inception, Interstellar, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) Or Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Dune, Dune: Part Two)?

Courtesy Lick

Villeneuve also has Sicario, Bladerunner 2049, Prisoners, and Incendies. Its not even close

BoringGuy

I don’t know how much info you’ve dug into about dune but if you have you’ll see pretty giant glaring differences in book Chani and movie Chani, as Chani in the books is a devoted follower of the Fremen way I think even a religious figure, making her then a devoted follower of Paul. Was wondering if you had any thoughts on the differences they make if any.

JimJam

Locked TF in for this one lol

Greg Coustas

As someone who has read the whole of the Frank Herbert Dune cycle, I actually had no issues with Chani's adaptation for this film. I think it was important to have a vehicle to express discontent with the growth of Paul's religious power, this sort of theme is touched on more during book 2, but given the nature of the medium of film, i think its fine to bridge them thematically here.

My Cat Jared

Missed opportunity to cosplay as the worm…I am disappointed. Seriously glad you enjoyed these movies, now you waiting just like the rest of us !

psspsspss

I was very glad they changed Chani's character for the movie, the book version made me so uncomfortable, there was nothing Paul could do that would upset her, it made the relationship feel icky. Having her be the moral compass of the movies, making it clear that Paul isn't the hero that he's portrayed to be adds a lot more than her just being another fanatic believer.
