heheh BUCKY IS BACKKKKK (but the gang is not being very happy family)

I'd genuinely love to know if you picked a side when watching this movie and which one it was and what made you choose that side.

I just want the family to be whole again :(

Toby Young

Yup time for my usual work procrastination to watch this

Bringo

This is the Gina-type content I subscribed for

Nat 🌸

I love this movie but I hate when dad and dad are fighting 😥

Chris Brown

First day of the holidays, perfect timing

Luke

Yoo perfectly timed for watching while I eat lunch. I stand with my boy Cap. Government regulation of superheroes would be a shitshow. They can't even give me free healthcare. I am not trusting them to save my life in a world ending threat lol

T-Rav

Definitely picked Cap’s side. Glad to see your reaction to this!

H Llewellyn

It'll never not be infuriating that they using New York during the first Avengers as an example of how the Avengers cause needless destruction when they literally sent a nuke to destroy the city and the Avengers stopped the aliens and the nuke.

Bringo

Later entries prove that Tony Stark was right, but most people don't comprehend that. If you have to ask "how", you already don't get it and I can't be bothered to explain why.

Zac

Yep, and same with Washington D.C. where Hydra was a second away from killing millions of "potential" threats to them.

Im Sebbs

Finally! my favorite streak of MCU is on the way :D Loooove both Civil War and Black Panter for both the story and the action scenes!

Eroll

Refrasing what I wanted to say. I'm on Wanda's side. Just accept for now because it's necessary. Refusing now or later when it is needed will bring the same status as "renegade" so best to accept. Test the limits, and if a day it becomes too much of an issue, rethink it. And damn I miss Chadwick Boseman :(

Bringo

Correct.

Chris Brown

Tony: "Accountability" Tony: "Recruits (kidnaps) a minor"

Chris Brown

Also thematically, Spider-Man would definitely align with Caps side (with the whole secret identity thing)

Davaid47

Many people consider this movie Avenger 2.5 due to the big cast and plot though the main plot is still about Captain America. That being said I stand with Tony, you need limitations even if they suck you can't just have unlimited power everywhere in the world.

Chris Brown

I guess I'm the only one in the comments not on team Stark 😅 The whole movie shows Tony being wrong. If everyone had followed the accords Bucky would've been executed on site, despite not having committed the crime. Steve going against the accords ultimately unearthed the truth. My other comment mentioned this, but Tony recruiting a minor completely undermines his stance of "we need to be held accountable". He's set on that path because a young man dies, then brings a teenager to fight with, as far as Tony is a aware, a super soldier assassin. Okay Tony, monologue some about unchecked power or whatever 🤣

GINA

me too :( I'm already a child of divorce, I didn't want to go through it again!

GINA

I love avoiding work!

Daniyar Mukhametzhanov

To be fair, it was shield(Board of directors) who sent a nuke to NYC and Fury tried to stop it. And Shield is also private company as well as Avengers. So technically government has nothing to do with this nuke. And the one who was forcing them to sing protocol was group of many countries, not just USA.

Nat 🌸

I’m on Cap’s side and I always will be. The fact that the people in the government control when and where they go places never sit well with me. His point about people’s agendas changing and how what if they don’t let them go where they’re needed, is one of the most important arguments in my opinion. What if the people with these agendas send them to hurt innocent people, when thinking they’re fighting bad ones? I understand the destruction and death that’s happened as a result of their fights and missions. And yes, some of it was preventable (i.e. Ultron, which was literally Tony’s fault in the first place, so the hypocrisy is always super annoying in this movie), but the destruction would’ve been worse and way more people would’ve died if they didn’t do anything. I understand Tony’s perspective, especially because he made a mistake when he created Ultron and feels guilty, so I do empathize with him. But I also think he used that guilt and his problems with Pepper to fuel a lot of his motivation in this movie, rather than see the bigger picture. I also empathize with him when it comes to what Bucky did to his parents, and I feel bad for him. I think Steve should’ve told him he suspected Bucky but idk what good that would’ve done because he wasn’t even sure it was him; I don’t think it would’ve made a difference in the end. Even though Steve and Tony are friends, (and I do believe they love and respect one another in their own ways), Steve and Bucky will always have such a special bond that can never be replaced. In the end, I see both sides but I will always be on Steve’s team. I also respect what Natasha tried to do in the beginning, even though she didn’t want to be the opposite side of Steve. I think she realized that she was agreeing with Tony for the wrong reasons too (guilt, her past, etc.). I love that she tried so hard to keep the team together because they’re genuinely family. However, if it meant stripping their voices and values away, it would’ve led to the end of them anyway, and I think she came to that realization. I love that in the end she was able to recognize what she believed in.

Anna Kyruin

Steve's side for me. Handing over control of my right to act to a one world government that very clearly is only interested in maintaining the status quo of capitalist exploitation (especially with Ross in charge) is something I wouldn't do for the same reason I'd never serve in the US military. The problem wasn't that they didn't need accountability it was that the group they were making themselves accountable to could not be trusted with power over the Avengers.

Nat 🌸

One side note: In the beginning the woman’s kid, Charles Spencer, was killed in Sokovia when Ultron attacked, not Lagos, when Wanda accidentally blew up the building. That’s why she said it was Tony’s fault.

Anna Kyruin

Additionally, all the governments got together and wrote the accords without the people who would be governed by them involved or even aware they were being drafted.

Nat 🌸

Idk if you remember in Winter Solider when Sharon was coming out of her apartment and her and Steve had that little interaction, she was on the phone and when she hung up, she said “My aunt. She’s kind of an insomniac.” Which is a little nod to the fact that she was on the phone with Peggy, but Steve didn’t know at the time.

sabbasi

not even a little bit lol

sabbasi

Another important detail is that Cap wasn't lying when he told Tony he didn't know specifically that Bucky killed his parents. He truly did only know that Hydra was responsible, nothing more. This was an easily missed reveal in Cap: Winter Solider.

John

Back in the day I was Team Iron Man because of accountability, they became to powerful and going unchecked can cause more danger. Just like vision said, everything they are invites the opposite. And gaining back the peoples trust by signing can be a good thing. They have to answer for the people they protect. "Good intentions dont excuse unchecked power." Cap was once fooled by the people "government" he trusted (shield). So he would think that signing the accords will take away their freedom and possible be used the wrong way, by corrupt governments. What happens when the people in charge changes agendas? What happens when they decide who the bad guy are? And as I watched it again years later I can see his side more and more. But I still think I lean towards Mr.Stark, even tho I respecc the hell out of Caps morals and principles. Sorry for bad grammar etc, englado is not my first language. Fun reaction tho as always!!!

Noah Glenn

I think your bodysuit stopped at the calves because black widow wears boots, but idk 😂

Tom G

I'd say you earned a popsicle stick for this one. The villain wasn't bald, but you correctly called a fair bit of the plot. I'm team Cap. I'm sympathetic to the idea of being accountable to something else, but not when that something else has zero track record of being responsible (or incorruptible) and you've saved the world multiple times.

Cortez4819

This is always the movie I look forward to the most with reactors. Team Cap btw. And its good to feel torn over it because the way I see it, it boils down to a very simple question, "what do you value more, Security or Freedom?" You feel torn because both of them are good things, but you can't increase one without compromising the other. That's all. Just a simple question. In a similar vein I also link it back to something I saw on Supernatural way back in the day. I think I heard you reference Supernatural in an earlier movie so I'm assuming you saw it all the way through, but if not then just don't read the below paragraph. During the season 5 finale of supernatural Dean was complaining about not getting a big prize at the end, seeing as how his whole family is now dead or in hell. Castiel pointed out that Dean did get his big prize, no heaven on earth, no hell, just more of the same. Then he asked Dean a question "What would you rather have: peace or freedom." Because Dean could have let heaven win and there would have been great peace, but it would also mean living in the palm of the angles hands for the rest of their lives. Basically being locked in a gilded cage and Dean hated that idea so he stopped them. Linking it back to Civil War, great security can bring great peace, but at a cost, and some people want to pay that cost while others don't. That's all this boils down to. Go Cap!

Tom G

And kudos on the costume.

kuke15

They both have good points when it comes to the accords but Tony lost me when he wanted to kill Bucky for something he didn’t have control over. I know he was upset finding out what happened to his parents but he knows Bucky was being brainwashed. Also, someone else made this point already, but if Spider-Man had been given all the facts and not been manipulated by Tony I 100% think he would’ve been on Cap’s side, and it was crazy irresponsible to drag a teenager into a fight he knows nothing about (even if he does have superpowers).

Nat 🌸

In the scene where Tony blasts Sam after he says “I’m sorry” when Rhodey gets hurt, I understand he’s upset but at the same time, it’s literally not his fault at all. He would’ve been the one that Vision hit if he didn’t move out of the way and he would’ve fell, so…

GINA

THEN THEY SHOULD'VE GIVEN ME BOOTS!! lol (the sleeves were also very short before I cut the bottom half of the suit off so I think I just got what I paid for haha)

Ragnar Miersch

Yup, worth every penny. "...one of the horniest reactors ever." That killed me, just spittin' facts.

Parenegade

Team Cap. At the end of the day, the world's governments have plenty of corrupt people. "The best hands are still are own"

Ryan Reichhold

Cats are great at teaching boundaries. People who hate cats are at a minimum an orange flag

Jayden Jones

yeah with a parachute tho, that’s why Rhodey said “turn him into a glider”

Nat 🌸

I know, but still. He could’ve damaged his parachute somehow when he blasted him or he may not have been able to get the parachute out like in Winter Soldier when he was just BARELY able to because of how fast and chaotic he was falling.

R McBean

On this episode of the Bachelorette: With Loki nowhere to be found, Gina - The Horniest Reactor - must choose between her two previous roses, Tony and Bucky! Also, will Steve's bicep scene be enough to take some of Gina's attention away from his two best friends? Or will him kissing the niece of his dead girlfriend ruin the moment? Find out tonight!

That Anemic Guy

I think you need to read the definition of kidnap

Fritz

You should totally take pics of the full outfits (if they fit) and post them on YT. Posts there actually get pretty good engagement and might get some more eyes on the content :) This way it doesn't seem wasted.

Chris Brown

"Yes, if a person is moved or held against their will, even if they are tricked into compliance and are unaware they are being kidnapped, they are legally considered a victim of kidnapping. The victim's lack of awareness does not change the nature of the crime committed by the perpetrator."

Fritz

The chase scene in "Bucharest" with Bucky was filmed in Berlin. The city has a lot of different styles of architecture in it and combined with the fact that it has a big studio complex nearby in Potsdam, makes it a good choice for this stuff. Other examples are in the hunger games movies.

Nydrin

Did you ever see the comic book version of civil war, especially regarding spider man's role?

kuke15

No I've only ever watched the movies but I've always been interested in reading the comics

Captain DeCounting

When the comics ran Civil War, Captain made a point about not being able to keep alter-identities secret. Governments holding secret identities is dangerous for the heroes and the people connected to them. I mean they couldn't keep SS#s secret aka huge data breaches, a valid point. Yet Stark was trying to head off a MAJOR backlash against all heroes, from a school being blown up. Written by J. Michael Straczynski, the author of Babylon 5. Lots of good material in the way of the Morality/Responsibility of costumed heroes. All the thoughts you brought up about NY and people unalived by their actions, are part of that conversation. I was Team Captain, because I felt that they were risking their lives for others, but yeah I get the need for Oversight, as Vision put it. I know there is a novelization of Civil War, been a while since I read it, but it was pretty good. Patreon fee is some of the best money I've spent in a while. Be well, CHEERS!!

GINA

I feel called out but also seen

Nydrin

I won't spoil it so I'll just say he has a much more prominent roll that I think you will enjoy

GINA

and I wear it like a badge of honor

Seth McCormick

I wouldn't have been on team Cap if it wasn't Captain America. I think he's proven his judgment to be more sound than most and his heart is in the right place. I think he was right when he said that an oversight committee would send them to the wrong place or on the wrong side, or even prevent them from going where they are needed. And when that happens, they'd get the speech about some sacrifices are necessary for the greater good, but that same speech can apply to people lost before the Sokovia Accords, but nobody was making it because they want the Avengers under their control. It'd be hypocritical at best and duplicitous at worst. I was Team Cap in the comics and I'm Team Cap in the MCU.

Erik Davison

I think that both sides have valid points. But in the end team Steve because he was motivated by his values and core principles. Tony was motivated by covering his guilt and fear and that led him to be unstable and unable to he reasoned with. Also I don’t think you’re getting into the era of Marvel movies that people don’t like as much. That comes after endgame, although I hard-core disagree with those people. I am super stoked for some of those phase 4 and 5 movies and shows and hope that you’ll keep going with Marvel movies for a long time!

Honestly I’m kind of Team Zemo on this one. Not because he’s right, but because he’s the only one who understands the real flaw. Tony’s right that unchecked power wrecks things: dude literally sold war tech and then built Ultron. Steve’s right that oversight gets corrupted: HYDRA wore a badge for decades. But both still believe the solution is the "right" people holding power. But Cap’s side gets way over-inflated because he’s the moral guy. When Steve says “trust individual judgment,” it sounds noble because he actually lives that way. If Tony Stark, former war profiteer and Sokovia incident architect, argued for no oversight everyone would (rightfully) freak out. That difference is doing a lot of unearned moral lifting. Zemo’s whole point is “systems that depend on exceptional individuals will always break.” Sometimes from ego, sometimes guilt, sometimes loyalty, sometimes corruption, sometimes love: pick your poison. Civil War is about how fragile the whole setup is once gods start believing their character arc counts as accountability. "If you push them just a little, they will destroy themselves."

BoringGuy

Tony is legally and logically right but Cap is morally and ethically more right. The problem I have with Tony is that he is so guilt ridden that he will do whatever he needs to, in his mind to fix things. Which is good when you’re thinking clearly but from start to finish Tony is working almost completely off guilt and for the most part not responsibility, not accountability, he wants things to be fixed as fast as possible and then maybe make changes. That is his M.O. ie; the creation of ultron, calling out the Mandarin to attack, being reckless with the suit so Rhodey has to step in and become war machine, and now the sokovia accords. Steve definitely has his own faults but he’s also seen the flaw in not having a choice when he first became Cap, he’s seen what can happen when government completely takes over with Hydra. Cap is the leader of the avengers I believe they should have listened to him.
