There is something that I do love about going into a movie blind and being... not NOT excited to watch a movie but more like "Ah, here we go I guess," type of attitude and then being BLOWN AWAY by how good a movie is made, the actors in it and the overall storytelling.

This is a movie I've heard people talk about a lot but have somehow managed to never hear what it was about so to say I was surprised when I realized is an understatement but god damn, this was a good movie!

ducky

yes!! just watched inglorious basterds and was hoping you’d get to this one

One of Tarantino's best. I know I'm usually the odd man out but I think The Hateful Eight edges it out slightly in my book. Give that a watch sometime if you haven't seen it. Can't go wrong with any of his stuff though

GINA

just a tad??

GINA

In case you didn't know, that Australian guy at the end there that got blown up with the dynamite was Quentin!

So glad you got to see Django. Tarantino is my favorite writer/director. I must admit, the trailer for True Romance is pretty ass, but the movie is 1000x better. Problem is that it went under the radar, even though it’s a masterpiece. All of his films have an all-star cast, violence, and some of the best dialogue you’ve ever heard. All of his films are must-watches, even the ones he wrote but didn’t direct: True Romance and From Dusk Till Dawn are masterpieces. If you enjoyed Django, strap yourself in and enjoy the rest of the short catalog.

Banger movie this is, glad you watched it

Leo cutting his hand and using his blood in that scene makes it insane

GINA

You know what? I too would’ve inserted myself in my movie so I could be blown up with dynamite lol

GINA

So it was HIS blood he smeared on her??

Trysten Leon

From interviews yes they did not cut and he apologized nonstop after

EmDoubleYou

Go down the rabbit hole, you won't be disappointed!

There seems to be some misconceptions about the blood on the hand scene. Yeah, DiCaprio did cut his hand by accident and finished the scene. But, the part where blood is smeared on Kerry Washington's face is not part of the original scene, there's a cut in the scene hidden in there. They didn't smear real blood on Kerry Washington, it's fake blood, because it's not one continuous film scene. Basically after DiCaprio's hand was bandaged they had the idea of smearing fake blood on Kerry Washington. This was a change to the script, so they did the scene as written, where there was no blood, and then they reshot the scene where fake blood is smeared on Kerry Washington. So yeah, DiCaprio cut his hand by accident, kept acting, but no he did not smear his blood on his coworker's face. They would have a huge lawsuit on their hands if that was real blood on Kerry's face.

EmDoubleYou

Nah. Kerry Washington has said that it was fake blood smeared on her. He really cut his hand but it was cleaned up and replaced with fake blood for subsequent scenes

Fun fact: The guy near the end when Django talked himself free and that got blown up? That is Tarantino himself^^ He likes to play small roles in his own movies and then kill himself in spectacular ways. So far he has died in 5 movies that he wrote/directed.

Alexander Ocean

5 seconds into the movie...."I don't like that word".... she has no idea what she's in for lol given its used 100+ times, and it doesnt get any less jarring
