This is the introduction to this universe so that Batman movie that you watched has nothing to do with this, plus we’re not seeing it for some years. If you want, you can check out the show peacemaker it’s two seasons and s2 takes place right after this. It’s not that long of a show. So there you go, great movie!

the peacemaker show also takes place after suicide squad (2021) so i highly recommend watching that before watching peacemaker

The twist of Clark's bio parents being a little fascist took a lot of people by surprise because in older media Jor El (Clark's bio dad) especially was a sort of godlike moral figure, and Clark (Cal El) was almost treated as a messianic character. There are however multiple comic and other adaptations that have the more fascist Kryptonian culture plot, and I personally find that much more compelling as it creates a great dichotomy between his bio parents and the people that raised him which adds so much texture to his character. Also it makes other characters whom we haven't met yet make a lot more sense imho. Looking forward to SuperGirl this summer, and your reaction however much later you get to it.

James Gunn (who directed the Gaurdians of the Galaxy) also is the new DC main guy, like Kevin Feige is for Marvel, and directed this movie.

Aw, sup cunt (we get to reply back in kind right?) I wasn't expecting much from this film, (only slightly jaded by superhero films :p ), but I really enjoyed that. (They didn't undercut emotional moments with jokes!!! They did the thing. Marvel should take note and also do the thing.)

yea it's more simple than it seems I don't think I explained it right but shortly, DC comics have space cops called green lantern corps and guy gardener from the movie is responsible for earth section

It's a running joke in the comics that the Green Lantern Guy Gardner is a douche, the other heroes can't stand him. Guy Gardner is known for 2 things, his awful bowl haircut, and being a dick. There's other Green Lantern heroes, Guy Gardner is one of many Green Lanterns, and even the Green Lanterns can't stand him.

It is very refreshing to have a massive blockbuster in 2025 that talks about hope and so clearly says free Palestine and fuck Elon/Trump. That ending is so sweet. Must hit even harder for you.

Funny enough I am also adopted. Seeing the dad scene, growing up without one is a really sweet moment. But I remember going and seeing this in theaters, it kinda threw me off at the beginning where he’s watching his bio parents instead of his actual parents, so seeing at the end he’s surrounded by memories of them always makes me choke up. Hits real close to home.
