REMINDER

1) You can vote for more than 1 movie

2) anything with a * at the end is a movie I have already seen

3) if your movie isn't in the poll, it's because you didn't follow the theme

4) if a lot of people comment on a poll saying a movie isn't actually one that follows the theme (I added notes next to the titles of ones that I couldn't get a definitive answer from google about) then any votes towards those movies will not count

5) I have no idea if you can cheat the google form and vote more than once on a form so we are going by the honor system here folks. So don't be a lil bitch

April $6 Tier Movie Poll

this month's theme was ACTION - if you don't see your movie on here...

Comments

Keenan Bartlome-Pierson

That’s also a lot of good movies… wind river is definitely enough of an action movie to be here. If maybe a little bit less action than some of the other films here. Still easily the best movie in this poll.

Jordan sloan

The predator is a franchise gang

BoringGuy

Oh it is way easy to just spam multiple votes. Yall better have some integrity.🤣

T-Rav

Predator and Bourne movies are both a part of a series.

Krieger

Bourne and predator are franchises, Superbad is comedy

Erik Davison

I’m curious if the princess bride didn’t make it on the list because it’s not considered an action movie by some people, or if it’s because you’ve already seen it! I’m just wondering so I know whether or not I should put it again in the future poll

Jeremy

Speed Racer is in both polls. Also, I get that generic genre terms like "action" are pretty loose, but so many of these aren't anywhere near action.

Tom G

I think I messed up. I submitted Big Trouble in Little China. And while technically there is some action in it, it is best categorized as An Absolute Fucking Masterpiece.

Xenoprism

I nominated Mad Max but I really hope RRR wins ngl

T-Rav

💯💯💯

GINA

Already seen it! So I added your other one

Luke

Pleading my case for Bourne Identity. The movie did launch a franchise, but the first film is standalone, and you don't need any prior knowledge to watch it. It was also a pioneer in the action genre and an amazing movie overall

OrangeMg

I put a good movie, but I didn't pay attention to the theme, oops

Fritz

It's a mystery crime drama. Just bc it has guns and murder in it, I wouldn't classify that as an action movie.

Leenis

Two things: What does it say about me that I can say confidently every movie is a good choice? Oof. And, you have it set where people can submit multiple responses, so it might be gamed.

Tristan Charbonneau

I've only ever seen Wind River once, and yet it's in my top 10. That's how good it is. (I've only seen it once because of how many pieces my heart was in by the end, and I haven't yet felt strong enough to go back for seconds)

Xenoprism

Also does Mad Max count as a franchise? I mean it's definitely a series, but they can each be watched as standalone films, for the most part

maaxer

as much as I love them, Bourne Identity and Hot fuzz are part of a trilogy. I don't remember exactly the rule for that but is that different if a trilogy or similar stuff is not a "franchise"?

Michael St. George

Tbf, the "trilogy" that Hot Fuzz is numbered among is more of an artistic or even figurative trilogy*, as there is neither a shared continuity or nor any shared story themes. They simply share the same acting duo (Pegg & Frost), similar subversive narratives with similar comedy beats, and Wright's signature directorial style. *it's labeled as the "Three-Flavors-Cornetto Trilogy" (or simply the "Cornetto Trilogy") by fans as a meme, snarkily implying they're all dressed up the same, but each simply having as its base one of three different ice cream flavors. It's actually more than anything a dig that they are a "trilogy".

Michael St. George

But I'll grant you "Shaky Cam Ad Nauseam: The Movie" is easily the first in a trilogy and in a broader franchise. 🙂
