NEW SHOW ALERT!!

Yes yes it's Marvel (it's our thing, I guess) but I do have to say this feels different to any of the other Marvel stuff we have watched so far and I LIKE IT! There's mystery, there's humor, there's kicking ass!! It's honestly the perfect mix and I'm so excited to find out more about wtf is going on and about our man's insane hearing

It feels different because it is a bit different. Before Disney had Disney+, they had as streaming deal with Netflix. This is one of 5 series (and one mini series) that they produced as a kind of grounded, street level hero counterpart to the larger than life, world saving exploits of the MCU. It's much darker, and pitches way more mature. So... there are 3 seasons of the Netflix iteration... and 2 more (soon to be 3 more) of a continuation series produced for Disney+... So you've actually got 6 seasons ahead of you. Sorry (not sorry, it's mostly great). ...Even more bad news, much like the MCU had interconnected stories for the movie side, the Netflix shows were interconnected for the TV side. So there's a watch order to keep in mind, and there will eventually be crossovers. Starting after Season 2 of Daredevil. Honestly, it's pretty much all worth watching (I say mostly because Iron Fist season 1 is extremely rough, and some of the other shows drop off a bit after the first season, but Daredevil is solid all the way through, and outside of Iron Fist, they all have great first seasons). The big crossover 'Avengers' equivalent mini-series is The Defenders.

I think that may be too much of a complicated commitment for her to want to deal with. The simplest thing she can do (and should do, cause most of the other stuff is not so great) is watch daredevil S1-S2 and watch a video or something to get the short context needed to lead into S3. After that, she should consider herself done with daredevil for the time being. Born again doesn't come up for much longer and (in my opinion) its pretty awful.

I mean... that's up to her. There's zero expectation either way, I'm just explaining the background and bigger picture. I disagree on the other stuff being not so great. The first season of Jessica Jones and the first half of the first season of Luke Cage are also fantastic, The Punisher quite good all the way through. And like I said, while there's fall off after the first season for most things, it doesn't get bad. Just not as good as the first seasons.

There's more than three seasons, there's five. And don't listen to people who say the Netflix ones weren't part of the MCU, they clearly were. The whole season 1 of Daredevil happened as a consequence of the Battle of New York

Hey there long time viewer first time commenter lol. This show is legit my favorite marvel property so excited for you to see it!! This show dropped when I was 16 and the only other Superhero TV shows that were out at the time we Arrow and The Flash. Both were good but campy in nature. This show with its long shots takes, great cinematography and darker themes blew my mind when it came out. So good hope you enjoy!!

I feel like she should watch defenders its like season 2.5 and I don’t believe a vid would do it justice and it’s shorter than Daredevil. Also Born Again is not awful, each to their own but the first season was bad because of production issues and even then it was mid at worst and season 2 was a banger
