EN - The paddle board theme has been on my list for a long time.
To pull off something like this, everything has to line up — the right model, the right place, the right timing… and sometimes even the right props.

NIKI picked the location — Lake Milada, which is close to where she lives. We chose a warm summer evening in August to catch the golden hour and sunset light.
We planned it for a Tuesday, hoping there’d be fewer people by the water than on a weekend.
I rented the paddle boards from a sports gear shop in Prague.

The first challenge was just getting there — NIKI had a small board that wasn’t very stable, but she still handled it like a pro.
I had a mid-size one, but more importantly, I had to strap my camera gear on it — packed in layers of plastic bags — and just hoped I wouldn’t drop it in the lake.

The next challenge was the location itself. I had never been to Lake Milada before and quickly realized that paddling 200–300 meters away from people just wouldn’t cut it. The shoreline is steep and surrounded by reeds. Forget about sandy beaches — they’re practically non-existent there. We paddled about two-thirds down one side and ended up crossing the lake to a spot in the middle that looked empty. We got excited and landed. But just as we did, a couple showed up to swim their dog. I asked politely if they could give us a bit of privacy — but the answer was no. “It’s one of the only places where we can be with our dog,” they said. Time was ticking — it was already past 7 PM — so we decided to start shooting anyway, at least with the outfit shots, dog or no dog.

Na konkrétní téma se Vám musí sejít správná modelka, místo, čast a často i rekvizity aby jste to zvládli.

Místo - stanovila NIKI - jezero Milada, které má poblíž. Den jsme vybrali letní srpnový podvečer, aby jsme fotili při západu slunce. Fotili jsme v úterý večer a mysleli jsme si že u vody bude méně lidí než přes víkend. A padle boardy jsem zapůjčil ve sportovních potřebách v Praze.

První výzvy byla přejet na místo - NIKI měla malý padle board který nebyl úplně stabilní ale šlo ji to na něm i tak dobře. Já měl střední velikost, ale hlavně jsem na něj musel dát batoh s foto technikou zabalený do několika igelitů a doufal jsem, že to nikde neutopím.

Místo - další výzva - protože já jezero Milada neznám a nikdy jsem tam nebyl velmi brzo jsem přišel na to že nebude stačit ujet 200-300m a dostat se kousek od lidí. Jezero je obrostle rákosím a břehy příkré. O spoustě pláží s pískem nemohla být řeč. Objeli jsme cca 2/3 jedné strany. Přejeli jsme jezero napříč k jednomu místu uprostřed. Bylo volné tak jsme zajásali. Jen co jsme se vylodili přišel pán s paní koupat psa. Požádal jsem je jestli by nás tam nenechali samotné. Odpověd byla ne, tohle je jedno z mála míst kde se psem můžeme být. Čas se krátil, 19hodinu jsme dávno minuli a tak jsme se pustili alespon do oblečených fotek bez ohledu na pejskaře.
