Chapter 117: Hyuga Makoto, Go to Hell
Inside the forest of the Land of Hot Springs, amidst a ruin.
The Fourth Raikage stood there with several of his subordinates, his expression gloomy as he wondered what was on his mind.
The destruction in this place was truly terrifying; the massive craters and the shattered earth filled him with disbelief.
Especially when looking at the inexplicable canyon beneath his feet that spanned a kilometer across the land, his brow furrowed even deeper.
"What on earth is this? You've investigated for so many days, and still no conclusion?"
"Lord Raikage, this looks very much like—"
Tutai raised his head with some difficulty; in fact, he had always opposed the Fourth Raikage personally going out on a raid.
But charging at the very front seemed to be a tradition of Hidden Cloud Village?
Left with no choice, he could only follow along, but now his heart was truly pounding with anxiety.
"It looks like a slash mark from a blade or sword!"
"A slash mark from a blade or sword—"
Hearing this answer, although the Fourth Raikage's expression was somewhat incredulous, he wasn't truly all that surprised.
His good brother Killer Bee also practiced swordsmanship; even if he didn't use a sword himself, he was by no means unfamiliar with it.
The surface of this canyon was far too smooth; it was clearly caused by a clean cut!
Even if it might be Wind Release, Wind Release wouldn't split the ground to this extent.
"But what kind of blade or sword, and just how huge must it be, to achieve an effect like this?"
"I don't know either; all of this is truly incredible."
Tutai's expression was exceptionally solemn; this was truly the first time he had encountered such a situation.
"Lord Raikage, I think we should leave this place quickly. Such a battle is simply inhuman."
"Hmph, when did such a monster pop up in the Ninja World?"
The Fourth Raikage's complexion wasn't looking too good either; the destructive scale of this battle was already comparable to two Tailed Beasts going on a rampage!
He also couldn't figure out when such a dangerous fellow had emerged in the Ninja World.
Although that was what he thought in his heart, a faint look of excitement vaguely surfaced in his eyes.
He was naturally a belligerent person, and what he always adhered to was action and power!
If such a fellow and such power could be acquired by Hidden Cloud Village, then the development and future of their Village would be immeasurable.
"Investigate for a few more days and figure out the general picture."
The Fourth Raikage's fists were vaguely itching; he was truly quite excited right now.
He never felt that he would be weaker than anyone else, just like how his Old Man faced the siege of tens of thousands of Ninjas without the slightest bit of fear—he shared that exact personality.
Now he didn't even want to go to the Land of Hot Springs anymore; he simply sat down on the ground and spoke in a muffled voice.
"We must weed out these fellows; they are much more interesting than we imagined!"
"Sigh—"
Tutai had a headache; he knew it would turn out like this.
But before he could speak, Shi, a sensory Ninja beside him, suddenly frowned.
"Lord Raikage, a few more people are coming over."
"Hmph."
Hearing this, the Fourth Raikage let out a direct cold snort.
"What a pain. People from which place are they this time?"
"They should be coming from the direction of the Land of Fire, and—"
Shi's expression was somewhat solemn as he hesitated for a moment before speaking in a deep voice.
"Their Chakra seems to be very strong!"
"Konoha?"
The Fourth Raikage raised an eyebrow. After pondering for a moment, he let out a cold laugh.
"It's been a while since I last dealt with them. They've come at just the right time; I'd like to see what clues they can find."
"Your judgment is quite correct; their target really is the Land of Hot Springs, "
On the edge of the ruins in the Land of Hot Springs, accompanied by a distortion of space, the figures of Obito and Black Zetsu quietly appeared.
But looking at the ruins before them, they felt a momentary trance.
Because in their minds, that night popped up once again—that figure shrouded in moonlight!
That fellow would probably be their nightmare for a long time to come; after all, such terrifying power was truly unforgettable.
"Having caused such destruction, it's impossible for Konoha not to come and take a look."
Black Zetsu shook his head, quickly casting the figure of his mother's kin out of his mind.
"Moreover, inside the Land of Hot Springs, there is also someone from Konoha."
"Oh, who is it?"
Obito raised an eyebrow, genuinely feeling a bit curious about this matter, and Black Zetsu didn't hide it.
"It's Tsunade. She is inside the Land of Hot Springs, and I suppose Hyuga Makoto and the others intend to go find her."
"Hmph, is it because of us and that so-called Nuclear Organization, or because of the Wood Release?"
"Both are possible; after all, Konoha won't just sit by and do nothing."
"Hmph, even if she goes back, it's of no use."
Obito let out a cold snort. Although Tsunade had a resounding reputation, Obito didn't think she was that difficult to deal with.
After all, a medical Ninja and a pure taijutsu Ninja—encountering someone like him was practically sending themselves to their doom!
Except for Hyuga Makoto...
"That damned Byakugan is a real pain."
Obito couldn't help but curse under his breath, while Black Zetsu chimed in with a reminder.
"Their location has already been investigated clearly now. Shall we make a move?"
"Naturally!"
Obito didn't hesitate at all; weren't they here precisely to deal with them?
"Itachi has recovered quite a bit. Let him come over, and also—"
"Orochimaru and Kakuzu. I recommend these two."
Without waiting for Obito to finish, Black Zetsu immediately gave his recommendation.
"Jiraiya needs Orochimaru to deal with him, and Kakuzu's secret techniques and Ninjutsu restrain taijutsu relatively well. I think a configuration like this will be very good."
"Those two?"
Obito pondered for a moment, and finally nodded heavily.
"Then it's settled. You keep an eye on Hyuga Makoto and the others, and I'll go bring Orochimaru and the rest over."
Obito's execution power was extremely strong; as soon as his voice fell, his figure began to distort.
In the blink of an eye, he vanished from the spot, leaving only Black Zetsu and White Zetsu behind.
"Arel arel, is it time to fight again?"
White Zetsu blinked and spoke with a grin.
"Black one, who do you think will win this time?"
"Hmph!"
Black Zetsu glared at White Zetsu; he disliked this fellow more than usual right now.
But he had to admit that White Zetsu was genuinely useful, so he also spoke calmly.
"Who wins or loses doesn't matter in the first place; all I want is a result."
"A result?"
White Zetsu blinked his big, foolish, blank eyes, but Black Zetsu didn't want to explain.
"I had you investigate Hyuga Makoto. Do you have any results now?"
"Didn't I already show you all of this guy's profile?"
White Zetsu scratched his head; this was truly a bit difficult for him.
"This guy's intel is very clean. His missions during his Genin period went smoothly, and after entering the Anbu, he started having constant bad luck. There's nothing special about him."
"Nothing special?"
Black Zetsu glanced at White Zetsu. This guy was strong to this extent, and yet there was nothing special?
"Hey, Black one, what kind of look is that?"
White Zetsu was somewhat displeased, but after thinking about it, he suddenly split his mouth open and chuckled.
"But if you insist on something special, it seems there is."
"Stop talking nonsense, spit it out!"
"Although he was a Genius before, he didn't seem particularly extraordinary. But after entering the Anbu, his strength began to advance by leaps and bounds. Does that count as special?"
"After entering the Anbu?"
This sentence caused Black Zetsu to ponder carefully.
Slowly, an idea suddenly popped into his mind.
"Could Mother's technique be something that accelerates unsealing through continuous high-intensity combat?"
He had far too little intel on Karma; many things required guesswork.
But thinking carefully, Hyuga Makoto's rate of progress was indeed a bit fast; in just a short year, he had already grown to this extent!
"He could even learn a technique like the Flying Thunder God, then—"
Black Zetsu's gaze changed faintly; the more he thought about it, the more he felt his guess might be correct.
However, he still maintained his composure, even though his fists were slightly clenched with excitement.
"Figuring out the unlocking method would be good for both of us, but right now, it's time to verify that guess!"
Black Zetsu murmured, genuinely looking forward to that fellow Obito getting over here quickly...
"The Land of Hot Springs is truly much more comfortable than the Land of Rain!"
On the other side of the ruins, Jiraiya couldn't help exclaiming in emotion, and his face was full of eager anticipation.
"Hurry and find a small town for us to rest. Ever since I returned to Konoha, I haven't had a single comfortable day. We mustn't miss out this time!"
"You mean those pleasure quarters?"
Hyuga Makoto sported his large Byakugan, looking somewhat peculiarly at Jiraiya.
"Hey, if you pull something like this, aren't you afraid Lady Tsunade will beat you up?"
"Tch, who's afraid of her!"
Jiraiya lifted his chin disdainfully, though his eyes flickered somewhat.
Back then, when he wanted to peep at Tsunade, he ended up getting his partition smashed to pieces by a single punch from Tsunade, along with his ribs broken in the process!
That time, he truly felt like he was going to die—
"Jeez, you brat are really a buzzkill. Can you not mention her?"
"But the problem is, aren't we looking for her?"
Hyuga Makoto was also rather helpless. He turned his head to look at the ruins beside them and couldn't help asking.
"Also, do we really not need to investigate this place?"
"We definitely have to look, but let's rest for a bit first and find Tsunade before talking."
Jiraiya waved his big hand and made his decision.
"Anyway, Danzo's people have already investigated, and there are quite a few people here. Let's finish what we're supposed to do first."
"Indeed, there are so many Ninjas from other Villages here. Doesn't the Land of Hot Springs manage this?"
Uchiha Izumi, walking in the back, couldn't help feeling a bit curious. Kakashi casually explained while flipping through his Make-Out Paradise.
"They can't manage it, nor can they handle it themselves, even with the protection of the Village Hidden in Hot Springs."
The basic fate of small nations in the Ninja World was always like this.
Even with the protection of a Ninja Village, they were completely incomparable to other major powers.
All sorts of freaks and monsters came and went as they pleased; even during wartime, regardless of whether you had Ninja Village protection, you would become a battlefield for the major nations.
Simply put, lacking strength and resources, it was fundamentally impossible to form an effective defense.
Throughout the entire Ninja World, only the Land of Rain could be considered an exception, because Hanzou was simply too fierce!
"Alright, enough of this. Let's speed up our progress and find Tsunade."
Jiraiya waved his hand, but Hyuga Makoto suddenly glanced backward.
"I'm afraid we won't be able to go for the time being."
"Hmm?"
These words instantly stunned Jiraiya. Kakashi also put away his book, and Uchiha Izumi grew somewhat nervous.
"Did we encounter any trouble?"
"Earlier, I faintly felt as if someone was following us."
Hyuga Makoto glanced around before speaking slowly.
"At first I thought I felt wrong, because my Byakugan scouting didn't discover anything unusual, but just a moment ago—"
Hyuga Makoto slowly turned around, his gaze shifting toward a nearby forest that had not yet been destroyed.
"That feeling became even more real, and there are probably very few people who can give me a feeling like this."
"Real?"
This sentence immediately made Kakashi think of something, and his gaze turned solemn.
"Could it be—"
"Yeah, I'm afraid it's only that rat who hides himself in the sewers, while at the same time—"
Hyuga Makoto turned his head back, his Byakugan quietly activating.
", Uchiha Obito, who orchestrated things so that Captain Kakashi killed Chunin Rin Nohara, thereby awakening your own Sharingan, and indulging in your own world of illusions!"
As soon as his voice fell, this area instantly plunged into dead silence.
But such dead silence did not last long. Accompanied by an outbreak of Chakra, a roar resounded through the entire forest.
"Hyuga Makoto, go to hell!"
"Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance!"
In an instant, space distorted, followed by a sea of fire that rotated and roared as it blasted toward them.
"Tch, it really seems to be the traces of Wood Release."
On the other side of the ruins, Tsunade looked at the traces on the ground and couldn't help frowning.
She had originally been heavily gambling in a small town in the Land of Hot Springs, but she had lost far too much, and with no other choice, she could only choose to run away.
Although as a powerful Ninja, running away after getting into debt up to her ears was truly shameful.
But Tsunade didn't care; worst case, she'd just tell them to go to Konoha to collect the debt!
Just as she was preparing to leave, she suddenly overheard some passersby talking.
"The other day, a giant dragon transformed from wood suddenly popped out, and that thing was hundreds of meters long!"
"Wood Release? You've got to be kidding me. Isn't that the power of Konoha's legendary First Hokage?"
"I just heard it from others, who knows, but I'm afraid this matter might actually be true. After all, so many Ninjas from other Villages have come."
"What a pain, why are they all running over to our place—"
This conversation sounded like sensational gossip or a complaint, but it forced Tsunade to stop in her tracks.
Ever since leaving Konoha, she really hadn't paid much attention to matters inside the Village, nor was she very certain how things were over in the Village.
But the matter of Wood Release made it hard for her not to take it seriously.
After hesitating for quite a while, she ultimately brought Shizune over, but upon inspection, she found the situation was even worse!
"Lady Tsunade, is it really Wood Release?"
Shizune held Tonton and couldn't help asking in a low voice.
"However, how could Wood Release appear here?"
"This probably has to be asked of the Old Man."
Tsunade shook her head, her gaze appearing even more solemn.
"And this Wood Release feeling really has some of Grandpa's vibe to it."
"First Hokage?"
Shizune's face was full of disbelief, but Tsunade shook her head and didn't speak.
The Village had conducted research on her grand-uncle's cells, and the person who started doing this in the first place was her second grand-uncle.
Yet the specific results didn't seem to be anything special, so how did such a thing pop up now?
"What on earth is going on—"
Tsunade muttered to herself, but right at this moment, a burst of fire soared into the sky, accompanied by an angry roar amidst the flames.
"Hyuga Makoto, go to hell!"
This situation left Tsunade and Shizune looking at each other in dismay; neither of them knew what was going on.
Yet after hesitating for a moment, Tsunade still sighed and intended to go over and take a look.
As long as there weren't any major problems, she could quietly slip away.
"Hyuga?"
Over on the Fourth Raikage's side, he also heard this angry roar, and his expression suddenly turned somewhat peculiar.
After a good while, he let out a cold laugh.
"Hyuga, huh? This is truly interesting..."
